Initial data

My curls are type 2b or type 2c, meaning they are waves that occasionally spiral. Hair is medium-porous, brittle, and prone to dryness. regular scalp. How I style and maintain curls:

1.Cleansing

Shampoo is what I use. It needs to be sulfate-free at the method to prevent drying out or harming delicate hair. I’ve been using sulfate-free skincare products for the past five years and really enjoy them, so this is nothing new to me. I used organic Anariti or Lisap Milano Hydra Care, a nourishing shampoo, for my unruly hair during the marathon. Although I believe Lisap Milano to be softer, both are extremely delicate. I thoroughly wet my hair and scalp under the faucet, dab a small amount of shampoo onto my palms, swish it around my head, and repeat as needed. massage. After a few minutes, thoroughly rinse. Repetition of the process is optional.

I use a towel to wipe away any extra moisture before going on to the next phase.

2. Mask

This step is optional, but I use a mask more often. During the marathon, I moisturized my hair Kaaral Hydra or nourished Compliment Oil Theraphy both masks are silicone-free, which means they are suitable for use in the method.

3. Conditioning

I apply the balm very generously – it is necessary that each hair is well surrounded by the composition. Therefore, I apply a larger volume to the entire mass with my palms in the "praying hands" position, then I go through the strands separately, straightening out the loose hairs, and then squeeze out a little more – for the ends.

Then I comb with my fingers to straighten, comb the strands, and distribute the balm well:
☘ I begin to squeeze the hairs prepared in this way – first all together, folding them in my palms and pressing to the head in such a way that s-shaped springs are obtained.
☘ then separately outer and inner layers of strands, so that the curl becomes more pronounced.
The procedure takes about 5 minutes. My mistake, found during the marathon:
I didn’t comb my hair with my fingers, I straightened out individual protruding ones. As a result, the strands were matted, sloppy and there was a lot of fluff. I had to use a comb additionally.

☔ Next, I squish the strand into a condish by pouring water into my palm, submerging it, pressing it, and tapping lightly to "drive in" the water. The thread slightly swells. In this manner, I work through everything, rinsing off the leftover balm. Throughout the treatment, I move my head in various directions to cover every area. I don’t give it another rinse. My error, discovered during the marathon: I washed the balm off by simply squeezing the strands with the shower’s water pressure, which degraded the curl’s quality.

4. Leave-in care

I use Holika Holika aloe gel on very damp hair that hasn’t been wiped before. Occasionally, I use leave-in conditioner over Londa (which is not recommended by the method because it contains silicones), but I only learned about it after I purchased it and it’s actually not that horrible—it makes the strands elastic, slightly curls, and keeps them from tangling—so I stick with it.

5. Styling

Gel is advised as a curling product, and I have one that: a) doesn’t cause the hair to stick together; and b) doesn’t dry out. Lorvenne makes a strong hold gel. However, it also has unique application features. If you take too many, the hair appears glued together and stale; if you take too few, some strands are not captured. Application technique and dosage are still different. I prefer it best when mixed with water, as Lela suggests.

If I want lightness and airy styling, then I choose cream Wella — in the same photo. True, it is not for curls, but on the contrary, for smoothness. But it copes with its functions well: it removes excess fluff, fixes and adds shine.
Plus, the manufacturer promises protection from UV – and I am always happy about this. And I do plopping:
I lay out the strands on a T-shirt so that spirals are formed, and then I twist the T-shirt to my head, pressing the curls and forming a turban from the whole structure. I do all these manipulations upside down. My mistakes found during the marathon:
I blotted my hair with a towel before applying leave-in products;
didn"t do popping.
This resulted in the curl being limp and lifeless, not structured. The hair was frizzy, didn"t curl well, the curl was stretched. The styling didn"t look the way I wanted.

I take off the knitwear, give my hair a little more style, and adjust the ends and roots.

Naturally dry.

I break up the cast after the gel, squeezing it with my hands.

Following all of the adjustments, my hair appears like this: I think it’s pretty neat and attractive. I’m prepared to walk on such waves, but the next phase starts in the morning.

6. Refresh

This is what caused the greatest difficulties: I could not re-style my hair into beautiful curls + they flew apart and fell down unattractively during the day. I sleep, loosely gathering it with an elastic band on the top of my head, I fix the ends with a crab, preserving the curve of the wave. How I do refresh now:
☘ I wet my hair with a spray, lowering my head down – separately from the inside and outside;
☘ I squeeze lightly;
☘ I evaluate whether I need to apply more styling product, which one and where (on all strands or if there is a naughty curl that requires close attention).
☘ I turn the strands to a normal position, style;
☘ I press and dry naturally,
☘ I break the cast after the gel;
