7 months without a haircut or how to grow hair without hassle. New care, new color, new me

Although it may seem difficult, going seven months without getting a haircut can be liberating if done correctly. It’s all about accepting the change and trying out new hair care techniques rather than worrying about split ends or roots showing through.

I’ve learned some amazing hair care techniques along the way that have improved the appearance and feel of my hair. I was surprised by the results of making small adjustments to the products I used and the way I approached hair care.

I even used the chance to experiment with color, giving myself a completely different appearance. I’m thrilled to share how to grow hair without all the hassle because it’s been a rewarding experience not having to frequent the salon.

New era of hair care. Kérastase

One of the many brands owned by the company L’Oréal, Redken, has dominated my hair care routine for the past few years. I was overjoyed when they arrived, but as time went on, the jars I cherished started to run low, leaving me wondering what else to get.

The best course of action would have been to keep buying my tried-and-true favorites, as I actually did in the past. However, things drastically changed when several brands—including Redken—left the Russian market and the cost of the things that were still available shot through the roof.

I began searching the vast array of online retailers and marketplaces for my favorite products. You can only imagine how surprised I was to learn that the price of the products had nearly doubled and that half of them were simply unavailable.

I had not anticipated such a turn of events in my life. It shocked me. What should I use right now? How should one proceed? Then it dawned on me that I had been wanting to try Kérastase care for a very long time.

I was like, "What the heck?" My favorite leave-in cream, Extreme Bleach Recovery Cica Cream, was about to run out. It was decided to buy a moisturizing cream for hair transformation in its place. Given the brand’s reputation for producing superior leave-in creams, Kérastase Soleil Crème UV Sublime, it made sense to begin learning about the company from this section.

First delights from the new care

Thus, I held the first jar of a highly sought-after brand.

I was astounded by the outcome after using this leave-in cream. My hair appeared extremely straight and silky, almost as if I had just had keratin straightening, which was something I had done a lot in the past to get the same results.

The fact that Kérastase Soleil Crème UV Sublime improves hair quality in addition to appearance—making hair silkier, more elastic, moisturized, and yet incredibly crumbly—is by far its greatest benefit. It was dubbed "My Bloody Valentine" after I wrote about how much I loved it in a different post (which you can read here).

An additional unqualified benefit Because soleil cream doesn’t contain simple alcohol, you can use it as an irreversible remedy for the second day without worrying about it drying out your hair when applied this way.

Naturally, the cream’s inclusion of Ceramids (2-Oleamido-1,3-Octadecanediol), which are well-known for their ability to blend into the structure of hair, minimizing damage and boosting fiber strength, adds even more allure to the product’s purchase appeal. I’ve been using this cream for a long time, and I can say that it has lived up to the manufacturer’s claims of being a very effective product.

Naturally, I couldn’t help but make more purchases after our successful relationship with the brand, so we went. I went all out and began purchasing a significant amount, if not all, of Kérastase products.

Strong love

I wanted to try different stages of care after falling in love with the leave-in cream, so shampoos Genesis Homme Bain de Force Quotidien and Genesis Homme Bain de Masse Epaississant (you can read a detailed post about them here) appeared on my shelf.

I thought both shampoos were great; they give gorgeous volume, don’t dry out the length of the hair, and cleanse the scalp and hair thoroughly but gently. It is interesting to note that the shampoo in the transparent bottle gives noticeable root volume, while its opaque-bottle counterpart gives hair volume throughout the entire length, not just in the root zone. However, the most noteworthy aspect of these shampoos is that, through some sort of magical process, they actually and significantly reduce hair loss after just a few uses.

I used the Kérastase Reflection mask Chromatic for thick hair in addition to these shampoos (full post here).

The mask was so effective that I used it every day for almost two months without noticing any changes to the quality of my hair. In fact, I noticed that my hair was growing longer, which was a clear indication that I was taking the right steps and the care was doing just fine.

This mask does a little bit of everything—moisturize, nourish, and restore hair. It is incredibly multifunctional. The lamination effect that Reflection Chromatique leaves on hair after just one application is another important benefit. The mask is a type of hard-working bee that I simply adore; it doesn’t require long exposure and works perfectly in 5–10 minutes. It can be combined with absolutely any rinse-off and leave-in care.

Apart from using shampoos, masks, and "Bloody Valentine," Kérastase Blond Absolu Huile Cicaextreme oil significantly improved the quality of my hair (see this post for an enthusiastic review).

During the active hair mania phase, one of my best investments was purchasing this leave-in oil. It’s really awesome. I knew as soon as I opened the package containing this product that it was meant for me, and after using it on my hair, I saw that my intuition was correct. This particular finishing product not only adds an exterior sheen, but it also keeps the cut intact in between haircuts, resulting in consistently better hair.

Oil does not add weight to hair; rather, it nourishes it perfectly and "locks" in all the beneficial substances that were given to it during the earlier stages of care. This keeps hair from drying out in between shampoos and shields the cut and length from mechanical damage caused by things like combing and friction against clothing.d.)Generally speaking, it does all the tasks assigned to it flawlessly. To put it briefly, I adore Blond Absolu oil.

Naturally, after witnessing all of the aforementioned benefits of this oil, I knew I had to buy more items from the Blond Absolu line. Before long, I was holding this "absolute" set:

In order to fully comprehend the impact of this line, I started using the shampoo and mask every day without doing anything in between. The products worked perfectly in conjunction with leave-in care (Blond Absolu oil, Soleil cream, and Gineses spray, which I will discuss below), and I loved my hair.

The shampoo has shown its worth from the beginning; it is a dependable partner that will effectively but gently clean the hair and scalp without messing up the length; it can be used frequently; all in all, it is a really good everyday basic shampoo. The one caveat is that I would not skip peeling to further cleanse the scalp (ideally, once every ten days).

From the first use of the Blond Absolu line mask, I fell in love. Does everything and even more. My hair felt fantastic after using it in conjunction with the same-named shampoo for over two months straight without switching to any other products. The mask is a very well-balanced product that gives hair moisture, nutrition, and restoration.

The fact that these products work on both the natural and bleached sections of my hair is what I like best about them. My hair gets silky, elastic, whippy, voluminous, and crumbly after using this pair, which is how I like it.

I noticed that my hair was getting longer and of higher quality with every month that I used the new Kérastase care. I started doing color correction more frequently because the roots were spreading out so quickly. In addition, after working up the guts to make a strawberry blonde, I fulfilled a lifelong dream.

I continue to wear the new hair color I really liked, but with the direct-acting pigment Nexxt, it’s now bolder and brighter. My hair quality was maintained thanks to my updated and well-loved care, but the real game-changer was the addition of a night serum to my regimen for repairing bleached hair (Kérastase Blond Absolu Sérum Cicanuit).

My hair responded well to night care, which significantly enhanced the quality of the cut and the length overall.

Before buying and using this night serum, I spent a long time negotiating with myself. For some reason, I believed that I already received opulent care. What sort of night care is available? A certain level of grace. However, I ignored the voice of reason and bought the night serum because my intuition told me that I desperately needed one.

Did I come to regret my purchase? For the first time, though, I understood what my hair had been missing all these years: superior night care.

When I wake up in the morning after incorporating this night serum into my hair routine, I notice that my hair has stayed hydrated, elastic, and cold throughout the night, and it is also easily combed and not at all confused. They seem as though they’ve just received salon care. One of the primary benefits of this product is that, thanks to the serum, the hair stays crumbly while you sleep, without feeling heavy at all.

Bain Nutri-fortifiant shampoo and Défense Thermique spray from the Genesis line were also crucial weapons in the fight against hair breakage (a thorough review of them can be found here).

My hair breakage and loss have significantly decreased thanks to the Genesis line’s shampoo and spray. The shampoo has a gorgeous foaming effect, cleans perfectly, doesn’t dry out or tangle hair along its length, and—most importantly—it significantly lessens the amount of hair that falls out during washing after just a few uses, just like its brothers from the Genesis Homme line for the strong half of humanity.

Furthermore, much like its masculine equivalent in a clear bottle, it provides enormous volume at the roots as well as all the way down. Genesis shampoos are generally my absolute favorite.

Among leave-in products, the spray-care from the same amazing Genesis line has become my favorite. This product has subtleties; it needs to be "closed" with cream and oil and cannot be used alone. Apart from that, it’s a true gem that protects hair from extreme heat, hydrates, softens, detangles, adds shine, and infuses hair with an unparalleled scent.

I discovered that my hair is consistently shielded from breakage after using this spray; this is evident in the state of the cut as well as in the front strands (curtain bangs). I’m thrilled with it so much that it’s replaced my old favorite—the Redken 25-in-1 spray—in my collection.

This is a quick overview of the primary care items I purchased. I believe you now have a good understanding of what I’ve used and how over the last seven months.

My current care

I have been receiving new care from Kérastase this year. Whether used alone or in combination, they are all very well matched, efficient, and don’t call for any particular technique, extended exposure, or "dancing with a tambourine." Together, they allowed me to Skip getting a haircut. without compromising the cut and length quality over the course of seven months.

I’m happy with my hair and how I take care of it now.

How should I select my hair products? The ridiculously easy response is, "I do it intuitively." I have been reading posts on our amazing Hairmaniac website every day since the beginning of 2017, which is six and a half years. Over this incredibly long period of time, a vast amount of the most diverse information about hair care and, consequently, about various care products, has accumulated in my head. It makes sense that knowing this information would influence the treatment decision.

The reason I can make what I consider to be an intuitive choice is that I have many years of experience navigating the needs of my hair, which is probably the most crucial factor to consider when selecting products.

Based on my experience, I determine whether a product will work for me by knowing what results I need from professional cosmetics and what needs to be taken care of in terms of my hair. I make purchasing decisions by reading product descriptions, user reviews, and occasionally compositions. I haven’t made a single poor decision this year. Every item that was bought was among the top ten.

Following the same logic, I instinctively decide which products to use after washing my hair based on my prior experiences with them. To create the best schemes for both washable and leave-in products, I also attempt to jog my memory of my impressions of each product’s effect and their most successful combinations.

My care results for 7 months

After I’ve talked about my care in length and detail, let’s finally examine the immediate outcome.

Ladies, To be honest, I was pleasantly surprised when I created this collage. Ultimately, my hair grew naturally without any external stimulation. My hair didn’t need to be cut, so I didn’t aim to grow it; proper and efficient care had eliminated the need.

Forget about growing your hair if that’s your goal. It will work wonders if you give your hair the regular care it needs.

Throughout the last seven months, all I did for my hair was take good care of it. Everything. No length measurements, no growth stimulation. I simply let go of the circumstance, relished the opportunity to purchase and try out new jars, was enthralled with the product’s appearance and smell, and—above all—saw the fruits of my compassionate deeds.

My hair seemed to wake up as soon as I stopped shaking it and let go of the "responsibility" I had been putting on it—that is, that they were "obliged" to stay thick, smooth, shiny, and attractive in every circumstance. They simply could not take my excessive demands and left my place in shame and foolishness.

Sometimes letting go of the situation is all that is necessary to achieve results.

I’m not suggesting that you should unwind, stop worrying, and only use shampoo; on the contrary, consistent hair care is essential to success.

This year, I "zeroed out" and became less sensitive to what other people thought of me. I also realized my dream of pink hair and almost entirely replaced the products I had previously owned, preferring the Kérastase brand. My life has improved as a result of this strategy, and I plan to continue.

The secret to success is self-love and self-awareness, and I’m not just talking about attractive hair here.
