I recently made the decision to try something different and change up my hair care regimen. I was compelled to try Wella and Londa Professional after hearing so much positive feedback about them. Although both companies have a long history and a solid reputation for producing high-quality goods, I was curious to see if the hype was justified.
Since shampoos and conditioners are the cornerstones of any decent routine, I selected a few products from each brand. I noticed a difference after just one wash, but I was curious to learn more about how each product affected my hair.
I’ll be discussing my own experiences using Wella and Londa Professional hair care products in this post, along with the comparisons and outcomes I’ve noticed. Continue reading to learn more about these brands, whether you’re thinking about making a switch or you’re just inquisitive.

History of Wella and Londa Professionals. Official
German hairdresser Franz Streher established the Wella company in 1880, producing hair wigs. The company then shifted its focus to permanent wave products; Dauerwellapparat, which translates to "permanent curling device" in German, is where the name Wella originated. And "Wave" is the translation of the word wella. That is the origin of their trademark. Along with many other innovations, the company created the first hair dryers with built-in motors and the first perm device!
The Wella plant was renamed Londa and turned into state property following World War II. However, the company’s former owners made the decision to start over under the new name Ondal GmbH (look how clever they are; Ondal = Londa; they just had to rearrange the letters), and now a new brand was ready. They re-registered as Wella AG after that. Hair color and curling products were produced by both companies.
The Londa and Wella brands combined in the early 1990s; in the early 2000s, Procter & Gamble, the industry leader in cosmetics, took control of them; and beginning in 2020, Coty, a cosmetics group, took over. These brands’ personal hygiene products are made in France, Germany, and the United Kingdom. Furthermore, dyes have been made for a while now, even in Russia.
Here, we will end our journey. I have summarised the entire story in brief, omitting details such as mergers, divisions, and who purchased which shares from whom. I may also say that, comrade, if you notice the Kadus brand, know that it comes from this bottle as well. It is identical in composition and design to Londa products! 🙂
In Europe, Kadus was sold in Londa, Russia. Right now, both names can be found in marketplaces. So, are Wella and Londa synonymous, or not? The only thing that I personally noticed is how closely related these brands are. I’ve heard hairdressers say Londa is "like a cheaper version of Wella" quite a few times. There are a ton of questions and very few answers. We’ll work it out! 129488;
My story. My memories of brands and products
My early years were in the late 90s. Furthermore, did you know that Wella and Londa were "thundering" in Russia during those years? twisted while watching TV. I had never heard of Loreal before. However, posters featuring gorgeous girls with fashionable hairstyles from Wella and Londa brands were hung, all of them owned by hairdressers (of course, ninety of these salons worked on completely different, cheap materials, posters hung purely for beauty).
It’s interesting that at the time, dyes and styling products were the main concerns rather than the manufacturers’ departure! Recall that the main differences between Wella and Londa are in their ability to stain, chemically curl, and style. As it happens, the oldest brand is, in fact, 🙂 and the departure did not occur that long ago. These are just my memories; if someone else shares them in his comments, that would make me happy.
It was around 2008 that I first became familiar with the Londa brand. After using powder to highlight my hair, I went to the hair cosmetics department in search of a life-saving solution for my burned hair. At the time, I knew nothing about hair care. After explaining the situation, the consultant recommended the Londa Professional Visible Repair mask (yellow in the collage above), which makes sense. I purchased it. To make it work better at home, I literally poured a third of the can onto my hair. 🤣 Things did not go well. For years after that incident, I couldn’t remember how to get to stores that carried professional products.
January 2024 has arrived. To jog my memory, I wanted to purchase this renowned Londa mask once more. Nevertheless, I reasoned that my reasonably healthy hair wouldn’t stand up to such a strong restorative, so I decided to go with the Wella Nutri Enrich restorative mask instead. Afterward, on a few more Wella and Londa items.
Wella Professionals – my hair products
Invigo Volume Boost Thickening Crystal Mask
145 milliliters in volume. (From now on, keep an eye out for the volumes featuring the crafty Germans; these are their full-size, not miniature, versions!) Cost starts at 950 rubles.
I added a bottle of Invigo Volume Boost to my cart as soon as I saw it on the website. The first thing that caught my eye was the container’s design, not even the magic phrases "Volume" and "Thickening crystal mask"! Transparent bottles in hues like blue, green, turquoise, sea wave, etc. are just so adorable to me. My eyes rejoice when I purchase something if there’s even a remote possibility that the contents will be helpful to me! Take a look at how stunning!
I’m speaking of the design here, not the actual products! In general, the colors of the La Roche face wash and the Matrix lamellar water are exquisite.
In terms of delivery time, my first product was the Wella Professionals Invigo Volume Boost thickening crystal mask. To test the mask, I immediately ran home from the pick-up location.
This instance and the remainder of this piece will apply the following principle:
- Hair washed with Insight Rebalancing shampoo
- The tested mask was applied
- Hair dried naturally
Furthermore, you’re not dreaming if you thought I had "breaks" on top of my head in the picture or video. I used the crimping iron too much. (( Avoid acting like me! I promise to trim my ends soon. It has been 11 months since I last trimmed them.
Let’s return to the topic of the Invigo Volume Boost mask now. I find the smell to be light and pleasant.
From the manufacturer:
Fine hair is transformed by the cotton extract mask, becoming thick, voluminous, and elastic. makes comb-through hair easier. Has conditioning ingredients and thickening polymers that give hair softness without making it heavy.
What I’m passionate about! The product comes in a plastic bottle with a unique mask pump dispenser! In any case, I have never before seen a mask with a pump like that. The dispenser was secured to prevent opening.
The composition of the product
Water, Polyquaternium-37, Alcohol Denat, PEG-12 DIMETHICONE, Panthenol, Polysorbate 20, 8 Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance \ Parfum, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Polyquat Ernium-7, Sodium Citrate, Polyimide-1, Benzophenone-4, Ethylhexylglycrrin, Disidium Edta, Polysorbate 80, Citric Acid,Citric Acid, ISOPROPYL booze, Limonene, GlyCern, Hexyl Cinnamal, Linalool, Trisodium Ethylendiamine Disucinate, Sodium Benzoate, Citronell Sodium Hydroxide, Herbaceum Gossypium Cotton Seed Oil Decylene Glycol, Tocopherol, Bht, Tetrasodium Edta, and 1.2-hexanediol
What interests me about the composition (since the mask is unfamiliar with it, I wanted to think about it in more detail):
- 1. PEG-60 HYDROGENETED CASTOR OIL-costs immediately after water. Emulgator and Pav. In this case, it helps to mix oil-based and water-based ingredients. Growth. It is not a film former, because. it is easily washed off with water, judging by the number 60.
- 2. Аlcohol denat. — in third place after water is simple alcohol denat. Increases the speed of conductivity of assets. From the negative — alcohol removes the oily layer from the surface of the hair, causing dryness. There is little good, but I believe that in washable products Аlcohol denat. is not so bad. If you keep the mask on for 5 minutes, it will not have time to destroy anything, especially since it evaporates very quickly.
- 3 and 4. Рolyquaternium-37 (a weak film-forming agent, with a low accumulation potential) and Peg-12 dimethicone (light lipophilic silicone) are considered water-soluble.
- 5. Рanthenol — finally, an effective and useful component.))) Panthenol — aka a stable form of Vitamin B5, aka Pro-Vitamin B5 (aka Goga, aka Gosha). I will not describe it for a long time, everyone knows everything.
- 6. Рolysorbate 20 — non-ionic surfactant (stabilizes foam), emulsifier. Like all polysorbates, it is of plant origin (20 is synthesized from coconut oil), does not leave a film on the hair.
- 7 and 8 — aromatic alcohol and perfume.
- Towards the end of the composition, the useful ones are panthenol, cottonseed oil declared by the manufacturer, and vitamin E.
I felt nothing smooth or slick after applying it to my hair—rather, it felt like I had applied water. 🤨 🤔 And the scent—recall that pure alcohol comes in third in the composition? It smells extremely strong. The product’s pleasant aroma is almost completely overpowered by the alcohol!
Rinsing causes the hair to become stiff, making it impossible to "tear" with your fingers. Probably for the first time in my life, I was unable to comb through my damp hair. Additionally, dry hair proved to be extremely rough, like it had a coating on it. like the hair of an inexpensive doll, or a cheap wig.
To put it simply, shock. Such a product has never been seen by me. "It’s probably a fake," I concluded. Then I looked at reviews of the Invigo Volume Boost mask on websites, etc., and this is where I discovered the truth: 90% of the reviews are just like mine. Regretfully, I failed to snap a picture of my hair. I was furious.
I give the thickening crystal mask a score of zero out of five.
Meanwhile, I was terrified to reach for the next Wella product that was waiting for me at the pick-up location:
Hot express mask Nutri Enrich
145 milliliters in volume. Starting price: 1,400 rubles.
The scent of this product didn’t appeal to me right away; in my opinion, the almond notes overshadowed all other flavors.
According to the manufacturer
The goal of the care product is immediate and total hair restoration. The product greatly increases its effectiveness when it gets on the strands because it emits heat! contains vitamin E, almond and apricot oils, and penetrates the hair structure to rebuild it from the inside out, restoring strength and elasticity that has been lost.
Composition
PEG-4, PPG-34, Magnesium Sulfate, Dimethicone and Stearyl Alcohol, Dioleoylethyl Hydroxyethylmonium Methosulfate, PEG/PPG-300/55 Copolymer, Cetyl Alcohol and Behentrimonium Chloride, Parfum, Panthenol, Hydroxypropylcellulose, Cetrimonium Chloride, Isopropyl Alcohol, Methylparaben, Aqua, Hexylene Glycol, Alcohol Denat., Tocopheryl Acetate, Prunus Armeniaca Kernel Oil, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis Oil, Propylparaben, Linalool, Hexyl Cinnamal, Benzyl Salicylate, Citronellol, BHT, Geraniol.
- 1 and 2. Not water! But Polyethylene glycol and polypropylene glycol — used as thickeners, foam stabilizers, emulsifiers or solvents.
- 3. Magnesium Sulfate — used in surfactants for cleansing. In this case, most likely, it acts as a stabilizer for the water/oil emulsion.
- 4, 5, 8 and 9. Dimethicone, Stearyl Alcohol, Cetyl Alcohol and Behentrimonium Chloride – Carried components – silicone, 2 fat alcohols and air conditioning/antistatist!
- 6. Dioleoylethyl Hydroxyethylmonium Methosulfate is also a silicone, but it is better not to apply it to the skin, only to the hair – it is considered toxic and allergenic.
- 7. PEG/PPG-300/55 Copolymer – silicone fixative, used in varnishes, foams and other styling products!
- Water is somewhere in the middle of the list, interestingly!
- The vitamin E, apricot oil and almond oil promised by the manufacturer are located at the end of the composition.
- There is also panthenol in the mask, this is a plus.
To be honest, I was hesitant to use the previous product, so this time I gently squeezed the mask onto my palm from the tube. I could actually feel the warmth right now! The mask begins to heat up! An intriguing feeling. More will follow. The substance seems to adhere to your hands; it gave me the impression of thick PVA glue. I believe that the composition’s PEG/PPG-300/55 Copolymer may be the cause of the stickiness. The mask does not slide on the hair; rather, it melts there and appears to vanish.
In Nutri Enrich’s case, the hair care is still felt concurrently. However, there isn’t the typical softness or smoothness that I associate with my tried-and-true products, nor is there any sense of hydration and nourishment. After the hair had dried, I evaluated the circumstances.
Therefore, the mask did not offer conditioning, hydration, or nutrition. The hair’s ends resemble a broom.
However, the manufacturer describes it as restorative, and in fact, restoration is felt. The canvas gets quite voluminous, the hair gets stronger, stiffer, and bigger in diameter. If you add silicone to masks like Londa Visible Repair, L’Oreal Professionnel Absolut Repair, or Vieso Argan oil, picture the following outcome:
Similar feelings, but unlike the Nutri Enrich mask, these masks offer smoothness and a well-groomed canvas in addition to restoration. I will no longer be purchasing Nutri Enrich; I have nothing more to say.
I give the Nutri Enrich Hot Express Mask a score of three out of five.
*If you’ve used either of these two Wella masks, please leave a comment with your thoughts—I’d love to hear! I’m grateful.
Smoothing cream-fluid Nutri Enrich
150 milliliters in volume. Beginning at 1200 rubles.
As far as products go, the leave-in cream was the third item to arrive at the pick-up location. It’s exactly the same as the Nutri Enrich Wella mask, which shocked me greatly!
The cream has a volume of 5 ml, which is even more than that of the mask. 150 ml is generally not a small amount for a leave-in cream!
I’ve been using Qtem "Weightless oil-jelly" leave-in hair cream for a few years now.
I am generally happy with Qtem. But I was always trying to find a better way to tame my overgrown hair without overdrying it. I determined that Wella Professionals’ smoothing cream-fluid ought to work well for these kinds of uses. Actually, the packaging manufacturer promises this effect. I’ll be happy to notice the cream’s aroma right away! Fresh and slightly flowery, the scent is not overly sweet.
Compound
Dimethicone, Benzyl Alcohol, Panthenol, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Quaternium-18, Cetyl Alcohol, Steramidopropyl Dimethylamine, and Aqua Glyceerin, Propylparaben, Tocopheryl Acetate, Stearyl Alcohol, PEG-2M, CETEARIL Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate Se, and Methylparaben Aloe Vera, Polysorbate 60, Lysine HCl, Benzyl Salicylate, Hexyl Cinnamal, Citric Acid, EDTA, Oleic Acid, Limonene, Silica, and Lycium Barbarum Fruit Extract Sodium Benzoate, Citral, Geraniol, Lactic Acid, Coumarin, Potassium Sorbate, Linalool, Citronellol, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, and BHT
Disassembling the composition here is pointless because all the ingredients—water, dimethyon and other films, panthenol, alcohols—fatty and aromatic—glycerin, vitamin E, and acids—are expected and logical for an irreversible cream (thanks, Wella). The composition is effective and well-done! The cream is light and white, leaving hands feeling non-greasy.
It effortlessly distributes throughout the hair and is absorbed right away. It has a lovely, light, fresh scent to it. I adore scents like that; they make me think of my favorite perfume, Lacoste!
After using Insight Rebalancing shampoo and Vieso Cypress light, silicone-free conditioner, I wrapped a towel around my head and proceeded to apply Nutri Enrich cream-fluid. I didn’t use a hairdryer to dry it.
I think the outcome is fantastic! My hair hasn’t turned into icicles, and there are noticeably fewer protruding hairs than there were before. Goal successfully completed!
I can contrast Angel Professional SPA leave-in cream and Wella Professionals Nutri Enrich cream-fluid:
Wella cream-fluid is a "medium-heavy" product for my hair. ))) Qtem has less weight. Using it multiple times, I came up with two schemes:
Following a "strong" mask, I smooth a drop of Wella cream onto the most noticeable (outer) portion of the hair and use light Qtem cream to tame the protruding hairs! I use Wella cream all over my hair after doing a light mask and conditioner because it gives my hair good weight and density!
The Nutri Enrich Wella Professionals fluid cream receives a solid five stars from me.
Londa Professional — my hair products
Velvet Oil mask with argan oil for instant restoration
I used this product in 2019 and 2020, and while I enjoyed it, the low-porosity hair mask is not gentle. I should review my memories now!
Volume: 200 ml (the 250 ml listed on websites refers to the combined weight of the contents and the container). Cost starts at 1000 rubles.
Simple and cosmetic in nature, the scent is unremarkable but not overpowering.
From the manufacturer:
Argan oil and vitamin E are two ingredients in Velvet Oil, a novel hair care product. The mask’s active ingredients shield hair from UV rays, hydrate and nourish it from the roots to the tips, and stop hair aging and color fading.
- up to 20% less hair tangling,
- up to 25% more natural shine,
- up to 10 times less damage when combing
Mask composition:
Water, Cetyl Alcohol, Behentrimonium Chloride, Panthenol, Isopropyl Alcohol, Phenoxyethanol, Benzyl Alcohol, Parfum, PEG-2M, Propylparaben, Tocopheryl Acetate, Methylparaben, Hexyl Cinnamal, Benzyl Salicylate, Limonene, Silica, Citric Acid, BHT, CI 17200, Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil, CI 19140
The composition is "mask-like," predictable, and devoid of surprises.
- Stearyl Alcohol and Cetyl Alcohol – fatty alcohols – moisturize, soften, have an antiseptic effect.
- Behentrimonium Chloride – surfactant – antistatic, conditioner, film former.
- Bis-Aminopropyl Dimethicone – a medium-density film former, accumulates in the hair and is washed off only with sulfates! Suitable for colored hair (what I need!), since it is able to steadily hold the depth of color inside the hair.
- Isopropyl Alcohol is a simple alcohol. Looking ahead, I will note that in fact it did not show itself negatively in this product and I did not feel any smell, as in the case of the Wella mask. In this case, this alcohol is used as a solubilizer (in other words, a solvent – allows you to mix fats with water and helps large molecules penetrate the hair, enhancing the action of the active components of the mask). In general, it is quite volatile – it evaporates quickly. (In short, you already understood, yes, I liked this mask, that"s why I "excuse" Isopropyl Alcohol in its composition) But I personally would not stand masks with simple alcohols for half an hour.
- Tocopheryl Acetate – Vitamin E.
- Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil – argan oil – at the very end of the composition, but this is the case when the minimum amount of the component is quite enough. The oil is felt.
A small digression
When I "sat" on Vieso for years, I learned how to tell if the rinsed care contains oil (and not 1 ml per ton of water, but the working "dose"). Even the mildest Vieso Cypress conditioner leaves hands feeling greasy (silicone feels different), and the remnants of the conditioner leave a dense, "oily," yellowish foam in the bathtub that makes the floor slick. I’m not sure if my explanation is understandable.
When using the Londa Velvet Oil mask, all of this occurs. A higher concentration of argan oil in this mask would not be ideal for my hair because the results would already be different. There is Vieso for this, and I am not aware of any comparable product in this regard.
The mask is thus fairly thick:
It goes on the hair wonderfully and quickly; wet hair is soft, pleasant, and smooth. I also have no complaints regarding Velvet Oil after natural drying.
The result of nourishment and restoration is thick, silky hair!
The key is to use the product sparingly and not more than once a week (I find that applying the mask once a week works best for low-porosity, thin, oily hair that is not thick). The mask is not light.
I give the Velvet Oil mask a score of five stars. O
Intensive mask for colored hair Color Radiance Mask
This mask was also mine a few years ago. Volume: 30 ml (full-size: 200 ml; I also ordered a 200 ml version and am awaiting it). Cost: 800 rubles for 200 milliliters.
From the manufacturer:
Rich mask for tinted, highlighted, and colored hair Color-treated hair is immediately shielded from color fading by Color Radiance. to keep a rich, long-lasting color. Motivated by lipids found in orange peel and passion fruit. Because of its nutrients, passion fruit is well-known for having inherent protective qualities. High pH lipids from orange peels offer defense against unwelcome oxidation!
Peel lipids from the passion fruit and orange unicorn. The description brought to mind L’Oreal Professional’s strategy; they truly adore the "fairytale" qualities of their products. )))
What is actually in the composition
Aqua, Benzyl Alcohol, Propylene Glycol, Citronellol, Passiflora Edulis Fruit Extract, Isopropyl Alcohol, PVP, Phenoxyethanol, Bis-Aminopropyl Dimethicone, Benzyl Alcohol, Parfum, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Disodium EDTA, Linalool, Benzyl Salicylate, Propylene Glycol, Geraniol, Citronellol, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis Peel Cera, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate.
See, the ingredients I highlighted are exactly the same as those in the previous Velvet Oil mask! I called attention to the "sly Germans" right at the start of the post. The only difference between these two masks before the perfume was added was that PVP was added in place of panthenol, which was deemed too harmful.
What is PVP
Polyvinylpyrrolidone, or PVP, is a binder, film former, and stabilizer for emulsions. PVP smooths the cuticle, adds shine, and keeps colored hair’s pigment from washing out. It also leaves the hair looking shiny and silky!
There is not much thickness to the mask. It has a lovely scent!
What exactly, then?
I’m pleased with the outcome! The mask provides enough nourishment, just the right amount of hydration, and great conditioning. When I moved from cotton to paint, I fell in love with this effect!
The mask is efficient, lightweight, and appropriate for daily use. satisfies every need I have. Without a doubt, I’ll buy it again.
I would give the Color Radiance Mask a solid five stars!
I’m impressed with Wella and Londa Professional products overall. From nourishing ingredients to observable improvements in the health and appearance of my hair, each brand offered something special. They have unquestionably raised the bar for my regimen of hair care.
The rich formulas of Wella’s products stood out, giving my hair an extra dose of hydration and shine. Londa Professional, on the other hand, provided manageable, lightweight solutions that helped keep my hair manageable and full of volume.
These brands are something to think about if you want to improve the way you take care of your hair. Wella and Londa provide high-quality products that can meet a range of hair needs, whether you’re looking for daily protection or intense hydration.
I’m eager to share my thoughts after using hair care products from Wella and Londa Professional recently. My hair looked and felt noticeably better after using both products; Wella concentrated on deep nourishment while Londa offered a light, silky finish. These products are excellent choices for people looking to achieve salon-quality hair care at home because of the remarkable results.
