Have you ever had the desire to discover the ideal hair care line that would transform your hair? I am aware that I have. It can be very difficult for those of us with thin hair to find products that don’t make our hair appear greasy or heavy.
I ultimately made the decision to give the OI line a try after hearing so much about it from Davines. While there was genuine excitement, there were also doubts. Could it match the excitement? Could it really turn my delicate hair into something tastier and more vibrant?
I’ll talk about my experience using the OI line on my thin hair in this article. I’ll go over everything, including the texture, scent, and—most importantly—the outcome. Continue reading to find out if this well-liked line is worth the money.

Why the OI line
I’ll begin by briefly explaining why this specific line was my dream.
I mostly tried products from the line meant for everyday hair care before trying the OI line. I was struck by something, I was offended by something, but I kept trying. And one day I was able to smell the OI line’s products! To be honest, I didn’t think it was all that attractive a few months ago, but then I fell in love and knew I had to try this line!
I chose to begin with tiny items so that I could order full-size ones later on if I end up liking the line. I used to be against miniatures for some reason, but as time went on, I came to see that this is really a great way to meet people and not waste money.
I just wrote that I switched back to using Melu shampoo for spa treatments and alternated it with solid shampoo. The stars had to align for me to order OI miniatures at last because it is a difficult series to "catch" them because of their popularity in this area.
And then the eagerly anticipated day of the delivery’s arrival. I was so eager to try them that I could not sleep. That might sound strange, but I would be very nervous if I truly wanted something like makeup. Ultimately, I will hold that exact line that I merely perused in the store, never daring to purchase and instead choosing to take something else.
I must admit, I adore deliveries! Take a look at the gorgeous bag the products arrived in. It was worthwhile to place an order from the official Davines website here in Belarus merely for this reason. I adore it when they handle delivery creatively—instead of putting it in a sterile, black bag, they should put it in a gorgeous paper one, like a gift.
The costs of Davines products are essentially the same everywhere, and eventually I came to understand that I was paying a hefty price for the products’ quality, cost-effectiveness, and emotional value. Complete joy! Now let’s proceed to each and every miniature. They gave me the samples I wanted to try, especially the detoxifying shampoo with the boat, as you can’t imagine.) Nice!
In addition, I would like to mention that I received the milk a few days earlier than expected. However, this is even better because, after washing, I tested it with various shampoos and conditioners, so there will be additional impressions!

Oh, I’m at a loss for words. The scent of it! Without a doubt, I like this smell. After giving it a lot of thought, I came to the realization. The scent is reminiscent of Schweppes Bitter Lemon! Although my boyfriend drinks this drink frequently, I don’t like it, so I brought it up. We both agreed that they smell remarkably alike! Notes of herbs, lemon, and bitterness are present simultaneously. The scent is really nice! Additionally, I’ve noticed that it puts me to sleep, as though it has some sort of calming, aromatic effect on me.
The white shampoo has a thick consistency. The lack of a limiter in the shampoo then bothered me a little. Although I’ve already gotten used to it, I would prefer it if this weren’t a drawback.
To be honest, using the shampoo was exciting and terrifying at the same time. I’m afraid only because it contains silicones and is sulfate-free, even though I have a close friendship with them. It was more of a desire to try, though.
Even with a tiny drop, the shampoo foams up nicely! It rinses quite gently, with a slight squeak at the hair’s roots, but not drying out like a solid shampoo or classic sulfate. I was taken aback! Is it possible for us to be friends?
In addition, my hair felt nourished after rinsing—not that "cream" was used—and it looked very natural. A sensation of unbelievable purity comparable to that of solid shampoo! This is definitely not what I could have predicted.) Extremely happy!
And what was my surprise when drying: the hair is clean, light and crumbly, while having a fairly natural shine and most importantly, you can feel the weight of the hair without weighing it down, some kind of Davines magic, no other way). No strands of "icicles" there were certainly no strands near the face are not overdried. I am very shocked and pleasantly surprised.) A similar effect is given to me by solid shampoo, but it seems to have less of that same shine, grooming of the hair. With this shampoo I have a feeling of easy salon styling. This is probably the first time for me. I think the smell plays a role in this, it inspires these thoughts.
The most intriguing thing is that, since I started using Davines shampoos, I’ve observed that my scalp’s freshness does not wear off sooner than I had anticipated! Even after repeated use, it doesn’t seem to me that this line of shampoo will oversaturate—at least not that I noticed. Maybe as a result of the solid-to-solid alternation. Simultaneously, the hair exhibits volume at the roots and overall volume, but this appears to be "correct fluffiness," facilitating effortless styling and creating a "hair to hair" effect in combination with the volume at the roots. This is definitely not what I expected.
In addition, I felt that after using this shampoo, my hair was a little less soft when I dried it with a hairdryer (or am I just being picky). My hair does not dry as quickly as it would with Melu shampoo, for example, so there are occasions when I have to give it some time to "settle" and soften. This usually takes a few minutes.
However, you must realize that Melu shampoo is much more "heavy artillery" than OI, with a lot more silicones and film formers. As a result, it tends to build up on the hair and lacks the feeling of cleanliness that OI does. Too "caring," to an extent. It makes sense that it is marketed as a shampoo for fragile hair.
To put it briefly, I am really happy with the shampoo and would like to use it again in a larger size. Everything about it, including the cleansing, scent, foaming, consumption, and sensation of freshness, has satisfied me. Let’s move on to the air conditioner now.
Conditioner for absolute beauty of hair Absolute Beautifying Conditioner
Composition
AQUA/WATER/EAU, CETEARYL ALCOHOL, GLYCERIN, DIMETHICONE, CETRIMONIUM CHLORIDE, BEHENTRIMONIUM CHLORIDE, CETYL ALCOHOL, BEHENTRIMONIUM METHOSULFATE, ETHYLHEXYL METHOXYCINNAMATE, PANTHENOL, PHENYLPROPYLDIMETHYLSILOXYSILICATE, BENZYL ALCOHOL, PARFUM / FRAGRANCE, PENTAERYTRITYL TETRA-DI-T-BUTYL HYDROXYHYDROCINNAMATE, ISOPROPYL ALCOHOL, DIMETHICONOL, DISODIUM EDTA, CITRIC ACID, SODIUM BENZOATE, TOCOPHEROL, CITRONELLOL, BIXA ORELLANA SEED OIL.
Conditioner in a jar this adorable! I notice a subtle difference in scent when I open it compared to the shampoo. You’ll think I’m crazy, but it makes me think of the smell of Play-doh plasticine, which is something else I used to dream about. In other words, there are hints of the original scent, but they lean toward being sweet and plasticine-like.
The conditioner has a thick hand cream-like consistency. Extremely affordable and easy to use! I also discovered that leaving the conditioner in my thin hair for five to eight minutes works really well. If my previous belief was that I required frequent mask applications and a 15-minute holding period, then I have recently developed an increasing amount of love for conditioners. I foolishly and seriously underestimated them. I made the transition to conditioners with surprising ease, and I was even unaware of how my skin had "left" from wearing masks frequently.
I use Tangle Teezer to emulsify conditioner after applying it to damp hair. How flawlessly it emulsifies surprised me greatly! One level teaspoon is used for my length (about 45 cm).
One more thing: it’s much more convenient to scoop up conditioner with a spoon! I used to disregard this and simply scoop up makeup with my hands. I’ve since learned, though, that using a spoon makes the application much nicer and cleaner, and I can control how much I use—I used to use too much, which could have made it heavier and threatened a lengthy washout.
I apply it halfway down the length, between the ends and the area just above the chin (I wash my hair over the bathtub). I let it sit for seven minutes before rinsing it off. Hair is sufficiently soft and well-conditioned.
It has an incredible effect! Hair that shines well without becoming overly glossy or oily. It didn’t negatively weigh down the hair, preventing them from becoming icicles. Again, magic for me—such precise weighting without the icicle effect.) And there was adequate moisture! I want a full-size conditioner and I rub my hands.
When I understood how and to what extent I need to use silicones in conditioners, I at last stopped being afraid of them. Alternatively, does it only function with Davines conditioners, as they don’t contain that "film"? Either way, it somehow "correctly" lays on the hair without endangering it going forward (the conclusion was drawn based on the use of Momo conditioner previously).
Multifunctional milk All in one milk
Composition
АQUA / WATER / EAU, CETEARYL ALCOHOL, PANTHENOL, PARFUM / FRAGRANCE, BEHENTRIMONIUM CHLORIDE, BENZYL ALCOHOL, TOCOPHEROL, CETYL ALCOHOL, AMODIMETHICONE, CETRIMONIUM CHLORIDE, AMODIMETHICONE/SILSESQUIOXANE COPOLYMER, SODIUM BENZOATE, TRIDECETH-5, CITRIC ACID, GLYCERIN, TRIDECETH-12, CYCLOPENTASILOXANE, CITRONELLOL, GERANIOL, PHENOXYETHANOL, HELIANTHUS ANNUUS SEED OIL / HELIANTHUS ANNUUS (SUNFLOWER) SEED OIL, LINALOOL, ALPHA-ISOMETHYL IONONE, LIMONENE, BIXA ORELLANA SEED EXTRACT.
To be honest, I was thinking about oil at first. However, I am aware that, in general, oil in my care is not very important, and I am able to live without it. I was also adamant about buying milk. I read a lot of articles about it here, and it was interesting to see different points of view. However, I followed my instinct and tried it, and I’m glad I did!
Although the scent of the milk is similar to the original, it still makes me think of something else—It makes me think of the smell of cream or bug repellent, but I still like it! Care has a more creamy consistency, somewhere in between lotion and cream. It’s white milk. "Hello, icicles," I thought to myself, afraid of such consistency, but it was too late. In addition, the dispenser functions flawlessly! This was a pleasant surprise that I had not anticipated as well.
My application strategy is straightforward. I run my hand through my slightly damp hair, apply a small amount of milk, rub it in my palms, and then distribute it with a Tangle Teezer comb before it dries. Milk is needed in two or three doses, depending on how I’m feeling. There was no discernible difference, in my opinion. I tried four doses the first time I used it, but I did not experience any weight gain or dirty hair effects.
I no longer worry about overdoing it with this milk because, upon drying, I was pleasantly surprised to see crumbly, smooth, and shiny hair, lightness without noticeable weighting, no greasy look, no stickiness, and, it seemed to me, even a slightly quicker drying process. My hair does not appear to have any particular density.
All of my "whims" were satisfied by the milk, and what’s even better is that it looks great on my cut! I had the cut "closure" and enough moisture. I don’t want to smear it with oil right away. Since I did not experience any negative effects, I really enjoyed the milk and intend to try it again in a larger format.
Most importantly, hair looks fantastic after sleeping, almost as if it was just washed! They are properly nourished and hydrated. Before, I could use hairspray to refresh my hair in certain situations, applying a few sprays to give the impression that something was missing, but now I don’t use it. Milk consumption is lower when compared to heat protection spray. In comparison to milk, the spray produced a less smooth texture and more of a "veil" effect; milk is a more serious substance in this sense. However, I adore these two products so much!

To be honest, I didn’t think I needed butter when I ordered the miniatures. I’m not interested in trying it just yet because I think it will overdry my thin hair right away, so I’ll put it off until "a better time." I’ll try to share my thoughts in one of my upcoming posts, but right now I’m not in the mood to try. It has a scent that is exactly like conditioner and somewhat akin to hair wax.
Result of the OI line
Naturally, I’m attaching the outcome to my hair! After shampooing and conditioning hair with OI products, milk was applied to help it dry.
Brief impressions of the testers
Out of all the testers, I was most eager to try the thickening conditioner and the detoxifying shampoo so I could show you the outcome. In order to test out another shampoo, which you will soon read about in the upcoming post, I left the renewing conditioner behind.
Restorative detoxifying shampoo-scrub NaturalTech Detoxifying Scrub Shampoo
Specifically, I was intrigued by the cleansing shampoo. I was eager to give it a try after reading the articles here, and by pure coincidence, I discovered it in the testers.
To put it succinctly, the shampoo has a thick consistency, a minty color, and a pine and mint scent. stays in the hair until the subsequent washing. After washing, the scent is purely aromatherapeutic and put me to sleep. You’ll set up my regimen like this, Davines!
The shampoo leaves my scalp feeling slightly cool and foams up into a fairly thick, creamy foam, but I didn’t notice any noticeable particle presence. They should, in my opinion, take the form of a peeling that is applied straight to the hair roots in order to be felt. There was no special role for the particles because I foam the shampoo in my hands.
Excellently rinses, slightly to a squeak at the roots, without overly drying the hair. I should probably add that I wasn’t particularly impressed with this shampoo—either because my expectations were too high or for some other reason. In other words, the shampoo cleaned really well; in fact, it made me think of a strong menthol shampoo I have in my collection.
Although I felt clean, I did not experience any lightness, which surprised me even with the OI shampoo. I’m not even sure if I should have felt lightness at all. That’s probably all that happened to the hair; it was shiny, extremely soft, not overdried, had natural volume, and crumbly. Style-wise, the hair was a little bit simple. There was also a certain smoothness, but this time it was more milk’s doing.
Even though it didn’t surprise me, I liked the shampoo, so I would buy it again in the future, whether it was for the summer or not. We don’t have any miniatures of this series, but I would like to use it once a week or purchase it in a miniature for such uses. First and foremost, though, I’m more intrigued by the other products in the NaturalTech range; up until now, I’ve had reliable examples that work well with this shampoo to clean the scalp.
However, the shampoo had a huge benefit for me: after using it, my hair felt more friable and cool. My hair is normally like this, but this shampoo made it noticeable more, which is why I considered using it again.
NaturalTech Replumping Conditioner
One of the instances that I have read a great deal about as well. How will the thickening effect manifest itself in me, I wonder?
The conditioner is thin, like a light hand cream, and smells like "Coca-Cola," but with a stronger hint of "Baikal." The conditioner perfectly emulsifies with water, and then something unexpected happens: I can immediately feel my hair starting to swell and gain "weight." I was afraid when I felt this way for the first time—it felt like they were getting heavier.) The sensation of silky hair was retained after it washed off with ease.
After drying with a hairdryer, I was surprised, the conditioner itself, of course, is not a panacea, I did not notice hyper-nutrition / hydration behind it, but the effect is very unusual: friability of hair and a very noticeable weight without weighing it down, it feels as if when washing your hair, their amount doubled. It does not give a visual as such, as with the OI conditioner, here tactile sensations play a more important role. In the girth of the tail, the density was not felt like a film, but as if it should be so. Some kind of magical increase in thickness ! Gives excellent softness to the hair, but the ends do not get enough care from it.
I’ll sum up quickly and to the point: I would definitely repeat the conditioner eventually, but not as a main focus. And most likely just to maximize the impact of that particular hair thickness. I believe the effect will be doubled if you use a shampoo from the same line.
Tester results on hair
I’ve attached the results of using thickening conditioner and detoxifying shampoo. I also used milk to dry my hair.
Product | My Experience |
OI Shampoo | Gentle, lathers well, leaves hair soft and shiny without weighing it down. |
OI Conditioner | Rich but not heavy, makes detangling easy, gives hair a smooth finish. |
OI All in One Milk | Lightweight, adds softness and shine, great for heat protection. |
OI Oil | A little goes a long way, provides smoothness and frizz control without greasiness. |
For thin hair, Davines’ OI line has proven to be revolutionary. It makes the hair feel more opulent and nourished by bringing out its noticeable softness and shine.
Regular use of the products helps to improve manageability, which is often difficult for people with fine hair, and lessen frizz. Maintaining volume and bounce in the hair is dependent on the lightweight formula not weighing it down.
All things considered, the OI line has outperformed expectations, producing salon-caliber outcomes at home. If you have thin or fragile hair, this is a good option for anyone looking to uplevel their hair care regimen.
My thin hair feels fuller, softer, and more manageable than it has ever felt thanks to the OI line from Davines. This line has really fulfilled my dream of having vibrant, healthy hair after years of searching for the ideal hair care regimen.
