You can achieve gorgeous curls without subjecting your hair to heat damage by using cold styling. The soft curling roller is a commonly used tool for this technique. It is simple to use and ideal for creating bouncy curls or waves that look natural while maintaining the health of your hair.
This post will go over three easy methods for cold styling with a soft curling roller. There is a technique that will work for your hair type and desired look, whether you want tight curls, loose waves, or something in between.
Are you prepared to change your hairstyle with little work? Let’s explore these adaptable styling techniques and see how you can get salon-quality curls at home!
Hair roller
The device itself is a simple ethylene vinyl acetate roller, about 2.2 cm in diameter, wrapped in satin, which isn’t natural silk but isn’t bad either.
There are two satin elastic bands and a crab in addition to the video. The video is simple to use:
- moisten hair with water/styling;
- Krabik fix the video on the crown;
- Twist the hair on each side in hudder (preferably from the face), with elastic bands to fix the ends on the roller;
- Remove the video after the hair drying out.
Attempt No. 1. At night, for dry hair + mousse Cantu
The first breakdown involved curling dry hair that had previously been moussed with Cantu. Since the EVA filler is fairly dense, it was very noticeable during the night on the roller, which somewhat affected the quality of sleep, the night was not as peaceful as anticipated.
The waves were hardly noticeable the following morning; by midday, they had entirely fallen off (even on my naturally curly hair!), and they had also fluffed up as if no styling had occurred at all. I didn’t snap a picture of the offensive content, but I did follow some colleagues’ advice and curled my wet hair.
In conclusion, this attempt fell short of what was anticipated.
Attempt #2. At night, clean damp hair + Cantu cream-gel
I used the same shampoo and conditioner as before, waiting until my hair was about 30% dry before beginning the styling process. However, I chose to "cheat" this time and used a Moisturizing Twist& Lock cream-gel from Cantu, a gift that had just arrived from Olya Lela, for fixation (remember, I wash my hair two to three times a week).
Day 1
This time, the entire procedure was captured on camera; enjoy the gallery, where the images are presented out of chronological order.
I thought the curls were great! Even though it caused some nighttime discomfort, the wait was worthwhile. I ran my fingers through the curls that resulted, added a drop of Kerastase golden oil, and just kept staring.
Day 2
Naturally, the curls lost some of their elasticity after the first day, but they held up fairly well. By the way, the curls were significantly weaker even right away after using an iron. Just a dab of Kerastase oil was needed to smooth down the frizz that had developed over night, no refresh needed.
Day 3
When I took the curls out on the third day, there was almost no frizz and just curls left. I never would have thought that a curl could be so durable!
Frizz only developed on the tiny, short roots in the root zone. Interestingly, the remaining length did not get frizzy. After my three-day cold curling experiment came to an end, I went to wash my hair.
In summary, this endeavor surpassed my anticipations! Just wow! Only after curling with a conical Rowenta curling iron did I achieve such durability. Here, the hair is safe and has gorgeous big curls that, despite the high humidity, did not shrink into little shawls.
A gentle method of creating waves or curls without causing heat damage is through cold styling with a soft curling roller. With little effort, this technique produces natural-looking results for overnight styling. In this post, we’ll look at three quick and easy methods for creating a variety of hairstyles that are appropriate for a range of events using a soft curling roller.
Attempt №3. For 5 hours, on stale damp hair + Cantu cream-gel
Over the weekend, the third attempt in a week was successful. Since the hair had already been washed the day before and it was still too early to wash it, it was time to test the third application technique, which involves leaving damp hair for several hours.
This time, I used a spray bottle to wet my hair, layered Cantu cream-gel on top, and protected the ends with the recently arrived Curl Ideal Oleo Cream hair cream. I waited for my hair to dry after curling it.
I had to use a hairdryer to finish drying my hair after 4.5 hours, which took a total of 5 hours.
The curl’s outcome was as follows:
After going through this all day, the following morning I applied Discipline Curl Ideal Oleo Cream to protect the ends from damage and, as you may already know, applied Kerastase oil to the mane and tail to finish it off. And it was time to wash my hair once more in the evening on the second day.
Conclusions: Give medium-sized curls five hours of free time each day for two days. It is up to you to determine if it is worthwhile.
Method | Description |
Loose Waves | Wrap sections of damp hair around the soft curling roller, leave overnight for natural waves. |
Voluminous Curls | Twist larger sections of hair around the roller, keep it in for a few hours for bouncy curls. |
Sleek Ends | Roll just the ends of your hair on the roller to add a subtle flip or curl to the tips. |
