While many shampoos claim to smooth hair and reduce frizz, not all smoothing shampoos are created equal. Some are called "smoothing," while others are categorized as "disciplining." What distinguishes them from one another and how do they affect how silky your hair feels?

Based on its composition, it is a standard sulfate that has been softened and enhanced with proteins, oils, and amino acids.
A shampoo chemist recently shared an opinion with me that I found very interesting. Since shampoos are primarily used for cleansing, when we discuss them, we focus on the cleansing base of the composition and mention the active ingredients only in passing, saying things like, "Well, what can you expect from shampoo, it only stays on your hair for a few minutes, no active components can act in such a short time." However, it appears that this judgment is not entirely accurate.
Research has shown that the amino acids and plant proteins found in rinse-off compositions actually help to rebuild the structure of the hair and have a demonstrated effect on accumulation in the hair, respectively.
The shampoo bottle is translucent, thin, and composed of extremely soft plastic that is easily crumpled by hand. The bottle has printed information, which is also repeated on the sticker.
Disk top lids are my favorite because they are simple to dose, easy to open, and work well with liquid and medium-density consistencies.
The shampoo is thick and dense, with a gel-like consistency. Its color is translucent and hazy, and its scent is mild but perfectly acceptable.
The shampoo foams moderately when lathering; the foam is finely distributed but dense and goes away fast. Shampoo needs to be applied to hair more generously than usual because it does not spread evenly.
The first time, the shampoo rinses well up until a slight "creaking," but at this point, I don’t feel the smoothness that was promised; instead, my hair is quite filled in and redcarled, and it needs to be washed away. The ends are parched.
The hair is glossy, thick, and crumbly after using a hairdryer, but it isn’t completely smooth. Furthermore, the boundary between stiffness and density is extremely thin in this instance. Use of the protein-containing products later on makes it easy to get both thorny and dry (which is what I did).
Hair tries to stray into strands rather than lie on a single canvas.
Although this shampoo worked wonders on my kids’ hair, I will save it for special occasions. Furthermore, even after using it consistently, I experienced no negative side effects, such as dry scalp, peeling, itching, or, conversely, an increase in fat content.
It is not a builder, weighs down, or reduces the amount of time between washes, making it gentle enough for natural, healthy hair.
A good shampoo can help control frizz and make hair easier to manage, which is why it plays such an important part in how smooth your hair feels. Smoothing shampoos aim to leave hair looking sleek and silky, while disciplining shampoos concentrate on managing unruly hair, frequently focusing on frizz and flyaways. They both seek to enhance hair texture, but they approach the task slightly differently, so knowing your hair’s requirements will help you select the solution that will give you a sleek, polished appearance.
Smooth shampoo with avocado oil Numero Extreme Liss
Use a smoothing shampoo enriched with avocado oil for voguish and fluffy hair.

After using this shampoo for nearly six months, as I previously discussed, I would like to know if my thoughts have changed.
Description of shampoo
Cleaner for erratic, curly hair. The product’s formula, which is rich in avocado oil and panthenol, is powerful and moisturizing without being heavy. Following that, the comb glides over the glossy, crumbly hair with ease. A wealth of vitamins, trace minerals, and amino acids can be found in avocado fruit oil.
Compound:
Sodium laureth sulfate (surfactant with cleansing and foaming properties), Ρocamidopropyl betaine (surfactant with cleansing and foaming properties), aqua (water), Parfum (fragrance), Cocamide MEA (gentle surfactant), Laureth -10 (foaming agent), Avocado oil (avocado oil has antibacterial, moisturizing, and nourishing properties; it also acts as an antistatic agent, reduces itching and skin irritation), Propilene glycol (solvent, preservative, softener, flavoring, and viscosity regulator), and Hexyl Cinnamal (flavoring).
I immediately liked the shampoo and will definitely use it again if the chance arises. Although at first I regretted grabbing a liter out of greed, I’m now glad I did. I don’t remember running out of products so quickly, but recently I’ve been catching myself using it very slowly. My liter bottle is almost empty in less than six months.
Generally, the packaging consists of a thick white plastic cylindrical tube with a sticker containing all the required information on top (not very durable, prone to abrasion, crushing). I poured the contents into a small container because I found the flip-top lid to be very inconvenient for continuous use, especially on a bottle this size.
The scent, which I initially perceived as "banal," was actually quite delicate, peaceful, and flowery. I find that after trying out a lot of different products and scents, I’m growing more and more drawn to them.
The liquid shampoo has a pale, pearlescent appearance. Wonderfully foams. Thick, white, and fluffy foam. I’ve been washing my hair in just one lathering lately because the roots are still clean and fresh after the first lathering. I totally agree with what I said before, and I’ll add a few more things: the shampoo does a great job of smoothing; after all, the hair is perfectly moisturized and incredibly smooth and untangled after just one rinse. Rinse-off care is generally not necessary after it, unless it is extremely light. For me, leave-in products are sufficient.
Unfortunately, because all moisturizing shampoos can slow down and lessen the amount of time that the root zone becomes contaminated, I would not advise using this fantastic shampoo on a regular basis. Natural hair can be heavy, as I have seen in my children’s hair; if they wash it every third day, the "stale" look of the hairstyle appears on the second day. Because of this, I don’t often use it on their hair, but even in the absence of further maintenance, the result is stunning: smooth, flowing hair.
Matrix Mega Sleek Shampoo
Shampoo to make unmanageable hair silky, shiny, and manageable.

The shampoo comes in a clear, bright carrot-colored bottle that resembles a standard Matrix tube. I own the older version of the design, which is essentially the same as the new one. Every detail is printed on a clear sticker.
The shampoo is dispensed through a tiny hole, making dosing simple, and the snap-on cap closes and opens securely.
The shampoo is white, slightly pearly, and creamy in texture. It is also fairly thick.
Matrix’s aroma and color differentiation amaze me once more. Another instance of cognitive dissonance: "Old spice" dazzles Mega Sleek, and I notice a vivid orange hue. I’m expecting scents of juicy fruit, but you can use any regular male wine glass in its place. In fact, I became used to it eventually and even began highlighting the notes of fresh herbs.
I can easily get a large cap of foam from the shampoo, which foams beautifully with just a drop of water. It covers the hair well, spreads easily through it, and washes perfectly the first time. However, I don’t notice the distinctive "squeak"; instead, the shampoo cleans very gently, doesn’t tangle the hair, and doesn’t dry out.
I adore sulfate shampoos because they are quick and simple to use.
After using Mega Sleek shampoo, hair is smooth, dense, and untangled (though not as smooth as Numero), and the ends feel nice. However, occasionally you should use at least a drop of conditioner to make the ends feel and look respectable. The need for now vanishes if I use pre-pu.
Dry has a crumbly, smooth appearance.
Mega Sleek, in my opinion, works well for porous hair types and can be used as a daily shampoo on medium-thick to "thick" hair. Fine hair can become permanently overloaded and need to be alternated with a lighter, especially with strong post-treatment care.
Combination of care products for maximum smoothness
Scheme No. 1 "Light"
To the fullest extent possible, I employed this plan for the experimental testing of all the aforementioned shampoos. There are just two parts to this scheme, A and B, where:
- A – Dikson / Matrix / Numero shampoo,
- B – Matrix 20 in 1 cream spray.
As I’ve already indicated, I’ve been attempting to reduce the amount of care I take: I hardly ever use masks, only occasionally use conditioners, and I even skip leave-in products. Naturally, good, high-quality nonsense is needed for this kind of care; it must be able to meet all of my hair’s needs, including hydrating, softening, and protecting it without adding unnecessary weight.
An insatiable urge to try Tatyana Owould be a cream spray instantly surfaced after reading the story. I was certain that this tool would be a perfect fit for me for some reason. Warning: there is a spoiler ahead.
The strategy is incredibly simple: just multiply Matrix 20 by 1.
Using one of the shampoos mentioned above, I wash my hair one to two times (based on the level of contamination), wring out extra moisture, and spray on a cream immediately after. Dry out completely. And voilà! Gorgeous, silky hair is prepared!

Scheme No. 2 "Smoothness without weighting"
Rinse-off care is not implied by this scheme either. I’ll make the leave-in treatment a little more difficult by adding cream to the so-called "mini-sandwich."
In this instance, my leave-in products will be Lebel Silky Aroma Cream and dry Chi oil with black cumin.
I’ve used this scheme before, and it leaves my hair incredibly light and crumbly while still being incredibly shiny and silky.
I apply Chi oil to my wet hair right after using one of the shampoos, let it air dry for a little, and then add a drop of Silky cream. I use a hairdryer to dry my hair after combing it.
Scheme No. 3 "Maximum smoothness"
It is still necessary to use a rinse-off care, preferably in the form of a potent mask, to achieve the maximum level of smoothness on my hair. As a result, I’ll be using the nourishing mask Numero Supreme Brilliance with valuable oils in this scheme. The mask smoothes flawlessly on its own, and the best results are obtained when combined with a smoothing shampoo.
I use the mask for literally two to three minutes after washing; it is very effective during this time and doesn’t require prolonged exposure. I rinse, pat dry my hair, and dab in some Chi oil.
The shampoo idealizes the hair’s preparation for further maintenance. The mask functions flawlessly on a ready base.
But let me say again, I only use this scheme for special occasions. The reason for this is that these combinations make hair very heavy, and I don’t want to overload it because that can result in more brittleness and split ends, which I really struggle with.

However, by moisturizing the hair and sealing the cuticle, smoothing shampoos concentrate more on giving the hair a sleek, silky finish. Your hair may feel smoother and softer to the touch as a result.
Although both kinds of shampoos have comparable functions, the best choice for your hair type will depend on those needs. Your hair can feel and look much better with the correct shampoo, whether your goal is to add shine or control frizz.
