What my Project Pan led to. The most anticipated ending of decluttering for a shopaholic hair addict

If you’re a fan of hair products, you are aware of how simple it is to get more than you require. I had shelves upon shelves of conditioners, serums, and masks that I could never get through. I started a Project Pan with the intention of clearing out my stash and finishing some of my products because it felt overwhelming.

Although it wasn’t simple at first, I was able to observe improvement over time. I gradually finished my hair care supplies, and as a result, I no longer felt as compelled to buy new ones. For someone who admitted to being a shopaholic and always wanting the newest hair care fad, it was a major step.

Ultimately, the experience with Project Pan not only assisted me in organizing my space, but it also altered my perspective on making new product purchases. It made me realize how fortunate I am and made me reevaluate how I shop for hair care products. This project ultimately produced the following results, which explain why it was one of the best choices I made for my lifestyle and hair regimen.

Phase Impact
Initial declutter Identified unused products and started reducing waste
Mid-point Started using products more consciously and avoided unnecessary purchases
Final stretch Finished several items and realized I didn’t need as many products
Outcome Less clutter, more appreciation for the essentials, and better control over spending

All hair products

By August 2022’s end, I had to make another move. I had to stuff my belongings into enormous boxes. Upon examining my makeup, I came to the conclusion that removing it all at once was impractical. It doesn’t appear to be very critical in the picture, by the way. But it’s brutal up close, I promise.

I also made the choice to snap a picture of the herbs.

I also neglected to mention the Israeli hair cosmetics that my parents gave me as a gift.

September 2025

Donated away:

Distributed dry shampoos. I really don’t get this. My hair is just as dirty now as it was before using. It would be simpler to simply wash it.

Jars that are empty:

As such, there aren’t any empty jars. I wanted to mention that as I bid the Tangel Teezer spray farewell, I became aware of my desire to do it again. My hair was expertly detangled, given elasticity, nourished, and moisturized by it.

Novel items:

I have some herbs among the new things. My hair is so crumbly after using herbal masks for the roots, which is how I got hooked on them.

Received gifts of merchandise from 360 Professional.

Mini-outcome:

Six packages were deleted, but nine were added. Since I frequently use herbs and didn’t purchase any makeup—it was free—I still view this as a win. I’m still motivated to finish what I started.

Spending total: 2,318.00 rubles.

October 2025

A terrible month for the project pan.

Donated away:

Regretfully, my hair looked slicked down because the Be Liss line didn’t fit it. Had to bid adieu. Additionally given away was the Joanna anti-hair loss spray.

Gave my mother these shoes. Less than half of each remains. She looked great with these products, and I’m still having trouble with my sensitive scalp.

Jars that are empty:

There is just one.

Recent arrivals:

Since I hadn’t been on vacation in two years, I couldn’t resist making a purchase. Naturally, the visit to Duty Free was a success.

The makeup from the hotel also fit me perfectly. Of course, I took them home after that.

Admittedly, I made a few more purchases in October. They also added dry shampoo as a present.

A brief synopsis

Nothing to say. 20 jars arrived, 7 departed. You saw right—October is the month of justifications. I keep going in the hopes of making everything right.

In all, $108 and 2,700 rubles were spent.

November 2025

The final day of November marked a sea change in my hair’s history. In the end, I made the decision that I don’t want to "finish off" inappropriate products. It can seriously depress you and won’t enhance the beauty of your hair. Regarding this, I received the following.

Donated away:

I kept these jars because I thought someone might find use for them. gave a friend the item.

Jars that are empty:

Sincerely, every last penny of these funds has been spent. Since the masks had no supernatural effects, I didn’t want to wear them again. Additionally, the mask-cap from Korea smelled awfully like some kind of herbal remedy. Since I now order henna and basma from India, which turned out to be of far higher quality, I won’t be getting the Khadi henna again.

Novel items:

"Black Friday" didn’t escape my notice. However, I’ve noticed that the things I bought last year are still unopened. So what use does this kind of stockpiling serve? I received Oribe from ViktoriaB. Revlon shampoo was given as a gift with a purchase. I also bought three sprays from Revlon because I forgot I already had two Rituals. In December, I swear to deliver a successful Project Pan.

Mini-outcome:

I’m back in the black, then. Eight jars were left out of the thirteen that arrived. I start to wonder if it’s worth it to continue. But I’m hoping to get better.

12,477.00 rubles were spent.

December 2025

I have to get rid of 21 jars in order to reach zero (where I started in September). Let’s see what happens in the final month of 2022 before it ends.

Donated away:

Ira Nordora received one casting of Oribe shampoo from me. I was able to find a place at work, but the gift dry shampoo did not work again. Not at all my style of funding. There was no freshness or volume, in my opinion!

Jars that are empty:

At least there was something that ran out in December. The smell of vinegar was pleasant, but it turned out to be completely useless for hair. The CP-1 spray is a miscommunication of sorts; it left my hair oily and the dispenser sank after just one spray. Vichy ampoules had a great impact; the bulbs started to brighten. Since the Vatika mask didn’t include gloss hair, I made the decision not to do it again.

Fresh:

The ampoules were on such a great deal that I had to get them. And they were the ones who restored normalcy to my hair loss. and a Kiehl’s scalp product that I received as a New Year’s gift from a friend.

Mini-outcome:

Bravo, eight products down. There were just two added. I will carry on with my Prozhkt Pan. I go on, just some sort of inspiration.

Spending totaled 2,800 rubles.

January 2025

January was when I became aware that Prochet Pan It collapses with a bang.

Provided:

Given that I knew I wouldn’t use these shampoos, I gave them to my parents so they could go to the nation. I tried using hair serum on both damp and dry hair, and the result was the same: it cemented the hair strands together. My mother fit it perfectly, so I gave it to her. I’m still baffled by why.

Jars that are empty:

Thankfully, they have arrived.

Traditional brown henna Lady Henna is decent, but if you can get Prem Dulhan instead. And I advise everyone to use Tigi cream! Shine is added, straggling hair is tamed, and the hair is not overdone. My essential!

Fresh:

The herbs I ordered from India haven’t arrived yet. The other day, I went to the store and purchased Daeng shampoo and conditioner for travel. Never even inquire as to why. In addition, I purchased Kerastase overnight serum. It’s incredible!

A brief synopsis

As I mentioned earlier, there was yet another setback in January. I’ll just write the amount I spent, then.

Spending total: 8,542.4 rubles.

I was able to face my excessive collection of hair tools and products thanks to my Project Pan. It wasn’t easy to stop adding to the pile because I’m a self-described shopaholic and haircare enthusiast, but the process of decluttering helped me learn to value what I already had, make the most of products, and break free from the cycle of constant buying. In the end, I gained more than just room—realizing and appreciating your basic haircare needs brings about a sense of fulfillment and clarity.

February 2025

I reevaluated my care once more. I’m going to stick with the same tried-and-true products until they run out rather than switching up the lines of rinse-off products with each wash.

Donated away:

Okay, so this is another outsider for me. Since my hair is light and thin, I find it difficult to become friable. I therefore made the decision to donate every glue product. Though it works well for many, this cream is not for me.

Jars that are empty:

Not much, but it doesn’t mean I give up. I’ll probably do it again because the peeling thoroughly cleanses the scalp and gets rid of sebaceous plugs. The Oribe moisturizing shampoo and conditioner have me utterly thrilled. They look stunning, my hair feels silky, and they are a perfect fit for my hair.

Novel items:

I ran out of scalp peeling in February. My goal was to completely restock the collection. I didn’t forgo the enjoyment. My purchases are shown in the picture below.

I also received two masks and new castings.

A brief synopsis

I made a lot of castings in February. I skipped taking pictures. It’s really lovely, and I truly enjoyed sending and receiving packages.

Spending total: 7,623 rubles.

During my Project Pan experience, I experienced some rewarding but unanticipated changes. I developed a newfound appreciation for the things I already owned by putting more effort into finishing what I had rather than always purchasing new ones. I was able to break the cycle of overconsumption and become more conscious of my purchases thanks to this.

I learned that quality matters more than quantity when I tidied up my collection. Because I was no longer intimidated by the sheer amount of products, I discovered that I was enjoying my hair routine more. Every item joined a more deliberate and efficient process.

Ultimately, my Project Pan cleared out my room and changed my perspective. I developed a more positive and harmonious relationship with my hair care regimen by learning to make more deliberate decisions. Every step of the journey has been worthwhile.
