Gaining body to thin, bleached hair can seem like an ongoing struggle. It can be challenging to get the desired look because of the fragility, lack of body, and flatness of the features. I understand how frustrating it can be because I’ve been there.
However, I just recently learned about Paul Rivera products, and they’ve drastically improved my hair. These products are designed specifically to give even the finest, most over-processed strands more fullness and strength. Although I wasn’t anticipating miracles, I was honestly surprised by the outcomes.
Now, I can actually achieve volume on my thin, bleached hair—it’snolonger just a dream. Allow me to explain what has changed and how you can also change the look of your hair.

My expectations from the line of care products for volume
But first, I’ll determine precisely what I need from this kind of product.
- Root volume. My hair is thin and prone to oiliness, so root volume is the first thing I strive for. Hair should not flow around the head and stick to it.
- Elasticity. This is the second, but no less important point. Again, taking into account my input, I can achieve volume while maintaining the quality and beautiful visuals of my hair only with products that decently elasticize the hair.
- Hair shine. Perhaps these are my personal cockroaches, but I categorically do not like matte blonde. Even if this is a special effect and it is achieved with styling products. I still perceive the matte finish of blonde hair as dryness and damaged hair, as burnt blonde. And that is why I could not make friends with salt sprays, although I tried expensive options.
Following these points are the instances that led me to decline certain styling and volume products for myself:
- Excessive stiffness of hair. Yes, I really appreciate elasticity. But there should be no overkill, i.e. there should be no stiffness!
- A clear feeling of styling on the hair. No matter how many times I try, but no. And I"m not talking about those cases when it is impossible to put your hand or a comb through your hair. But I really don"t like styling products that are very clearly felt on your hair tactilely for everyday use. Maximum – for major events a couple of times a year. And even then it is advisable to do without them.
- Negative impact on hair quality. Well, I think there’s no need to even comment on this.
With these aspirations in mind, I started experimenting with funding for volume. To begin with, I chose to use a minimal set that included shampoo, a basal spray, and a careful, adversity-focused spray for the length. I’ll go into more detail about each of them now:
Paul Rivera Loud Volume shampoo
"Loud Volume" is the intriguing moniker given to shampoo as it joins the Paul Rivera collection.
Technical characteristics and description of the manufacturer
Let’s examine the manufacturer’s claims in more detail:
The shampoo comes in 500 and 1000 milliliter bottles. sold in specialist online and physical professional cosmetics stores, as well as on marketplaces.
According to the manufacturer, the dispenser that comes with both bottle versions is incredibly convenient. (And after that, I have 1.5 liters of Loreal Professional, which I should either buy a dispenser for or pour into other bottles). The manufacturer promptly addressed the ease of use with PR, which is quite pleasing.)
Composition of the shampoo
Water (aqua), sodium laureth sulfate, cocamidopropyl betaine, parfum (fragrance), flower extract of Centaurea cyanus, polyquaternium-10, leaf extract of Aloe barbadensis, methoxy peg / ppg-7 / 3 aminopropyl, dimethicone, peg-120 methyl glucose trioleate, propylene glycol, sodium chloride, citric acid, sodium gluconate, phenoxyethanol, chlorphenesin, benzyl alcohol, methylchloroisothiazolinone, methylisothiazolinone
Shampoo on SLES, which makes sense for a thick shampoo in general. free of silicone but containing polyquaternium.
The shampoo has a medium thickness and is crystal clear. It’s not extremely liquid, but it’s still among the most liquid professional shampoos I’ve ever used. As a result, the product’s affordability is negatively impacted, and the 350 ml run out rather quickly.
Despite my best efforts, I am unable to differentiate and categorize the notes in the intriguing scent. It is quite tart. Something from men’s fragrances is present, but it’s not overt. I find the scent to be quite peculiar yet definitely pleasing. It still doesn’t stay on the hair, though.
My impressions of the shampoo
I was able to test this shampoo with practically all of my rinse-off care at the time I was writing this post. Not to mention, the shampoo consistently produces a consistent and excellent outcome. No unpleasant surprises or incompatibilities with other skin care products.
The washing base is Sodium laureth sulfate and the shampoo washes the hair very well, but at the same time there is no squeak and the scalp is more than comfortable. It was with this shampoo that I began to test the Japanese method of washing hair with a comb, which Kristina Kristina11111 wrote about here click, and they go well together. At the same time, the shampoo is quite delicate in relation to the length, there is no excessive cleansing and aggressive impact, which I was very afraid of. Average foaming, not a foam party from the first lathering (for me it is also the last one, because.. I lather my hair only once).
After using the shampoo for a few days in a row, neither the length nor the scalp showed any negative effects. In addition, I initially pretty much cleaned it by myself because I loved the outcome so much! I only used Metal Detox shampoo on alternate days, and only then because I had to due to hard water. Even though I’ve returned a few shampoos after using them for a few months (just for variety’s sake), Loud Volume is still my favorite and one of the most used shampoos.
What it was about him that made me fall in love with him? This incredibly light weight is combined with the elasticity of hair. Hair that looks amazing after a thorough mask or care, but without any overload. And that’s why they look so amazing, but this isn’t flying cotton splendor; rather, it’s a cloud made of such soft silk. I’m at a loss for words, but I knew what Katya meant when she mentioned that she fell in love with volume products and that she now feels the need for such care.
Although I didn’t alter the frequency of washing, I felt as though the shampoo added approximately half a day to its duration. However, I carried on with my routine because, well, washing my hair every day still works better for me. But compared to my previous shampoos, the roots are unquestionably fresher in the morning. As I mentioned earlier, I did not check this point, but most likely, I could go almost until the evening of the following day (usually, by lunchtime on the second day, my hair becomes noticeably stale).
The following are the principal benefits of Paul Rivera’s shampoo Loud Volume:
- giving hair a lively and natural volume, elasticity and splendor, while maintaining softness and shine;
- versatility – it fits perfectly into the care and works with any washable and leave-in products of various brands;
- stability of the result;
- no accumulation effect, no negative impact on the scalp;
- ease of purchase – available in offline and online stores;
- the shampoo does not contribute to the too rapid washing out of the tint, like, for example, GOSH or products from Vieso. It is washed off in the usual mode.
With the exception of extremely severely damaged hair (the kind where co-washing or extremely gentle shampoos are the only options), I believe it will work well on practically all hair types.
This is the first "voluminous" shampoo I’ve ever used, but I have to admit, I really enjoyed the effect and will definitely use it again after I finish the bottle.
In addition to the length-enhancing spray that will be covered later, this shampoo was used in every picture from the silky styling post. Regardless of the remaining rinse-off care, these two products are best revealed together and specifically on such styling.
Loud Volume Hair Spray by Paul Rivera
For me, the second item in this line that provided volume was a hair volume spray.
Technical characteristics and description of the manufacturer
According to the description, the spray can be used on the roots as well as the length, but I only use it to increase the volume of the roots.
Available in a 150 ml dark opaque plastic bottle, the spray comes in this form. There are no application issues, and the bottle is pleasantly sized for the hand.)
We especially appreciate the manufacturer’s handy detachable limiter. He made it possible to transport the remedy safely without having to worry about it getting lost in the luggage. This is a huge plus for the manufacturer.
The product is dispensed in a fairly fine cloud by the highly convenient dispenser that doesn’t spit, and its spray pattern isn’t overly wide, making it easy to apply small amounts of the product where needed.
Spray composition
Water (aqua), propylene glycol, sorbitol, sodium polystyrene sulfonate, polyquaternium-4, aloe barbadensis leaf extract, centaurea cyanus flower extract, peg-40 hydrogenated castor oil, and ppg-1-peg-9 phenoxyethanol, chlorphenesin, parfum (fragrance), lactic acid, lauryl glycol ether, and coceth-7
The fact that this specific spray is alcohol-free is the main feature I looked for in the composition and the reason I selected it! (And this is the manufacturer’s second positive karma point). Since I am extremely sensitive to the presence of denatured alcohol in cosmetics, I have omitted anything that doesn’t strictly need it (even those that I try to reduce). However, other additives find it challenging to counteract the drying effect of alcohol, particularly in styling sprays (although ampoule products manage to some extent).
Similar to the shampoo, the spray smells nice and slightly tart, but I’m still unable to identify any additional words or highlight the notes.
My impressions of the spray
I therefore use other leave-in products on the length of my damp hair and then apply the spray to the roots. There is a slight stickiness when applied, but that goes away completely when it dries. After that, I use a hairdryer to dry my hair and style it as usual; I don’t use a brush; instead, I just dry my hair with the head down. I then complete drying the length in its usual orientation, making an effort to dry the roots as much as I can at an angle. Additionally, this is sufficient to achieve a fairly nice root volume that lasts longer than when shampoo is used alone.
The fact that this spray hardly feels on the hair is one of its greatest styling benefits. There is springiness and volume without being sticky or having a matte finish. And naturally, this gives me great joy.) The spray has a daylong effect, and I did not observe a noticeable decrease in the amount of time needed to wash after using it.
The baby hair there stood on end almost the entire day after I carelessly applied it to the temple area and below.))) The fixation is unquestionably at its best, especially on short hair. I now use extreme caution when applying the spray in certain areas.
However, I still consider it to be a product for special occasions rather than daily use. However, since using the spray, styling my hair for an evening out has become enjoyable, and I no longer have to compromise between volume, shine, and softness. The product provides one while protecting the other.
The following are the primary benefits of the root volume Loud Volume Paul Rivera spray:
- lack of rigidity and stickiness of the roots, preservation of shine;
- no negative impact on the scalp;
- ease of purchase – available in offline and online stores;
This is my first experience with "volume" sprays, but I have to admit that I really enjoyed the effect and will definitely do it again once the bottle is empty.
Fabulous – instant hair spray 10 in 1
S.A. The volume of hair at the ends and roots is significantly different for me because I experienced multiple waves of hair loss at the end of last year and this year. Furthermore, I’ve been using hair growth stimulating products on a regular basis for a few years now, and it seems to me that they have also added density, as my hair has shrunk by about two thirds of its original length. But alas, there’s a lot left unsaid about the ends.
Since root volume only highlights the lower part’s liquidity, products designed solely for root volume do not provide me with a visually appealing image in this scenario. Naturally, curls and waves cover this up, but not sufficiently.
I was also searching for a product that would correct the lengthwise styling. Additionally, it had requirements that were essentially the same as those for the product for volume, which I covered in my first point. The issue with the asterisk is this.
Even after reading Tanya Le fleurs de Liliss’s post regarding Paul Rivera’s sprays, I noticed the Fabulos 10 in 1 spray for myself. Nevertheless, since My Promise is a more widely used product, I still purchased it first. But even though My Promise had brought me joy, I couldn’t shake the memories of Fabulos, and eventually I held the priceless jar.
Technical characteristics and description of the manufacturer
There is just one 200 ml volume of the spray available.
A vibrant peach-orange plastic spray bottle with cheery yellow stripes. The bottle is a very handy size and fits comfortably in the hand (not like My Promise, which I initially had to struggle with). You can’t even tell that this is milk and not your typical spray of water because it sprays so finely and evenly.
The manufacturer lists a plethora of effects, but like Tanya, I find it hard to believe in these claims and instead focus on the overall course of the product. She also informs us that the product is part of the Finish& Styling styling line rather than the care line. I therefore anticipate receiving a styling product first, but with some attention to detail.
The spray has a fairly strong, overbearing, juicy-fruity scent. To my great relief, it does not stay on the hair, and the only times I feel it are during application and the partially drying phase. If it did, the product’s use might be called into question. However, if it evaporates, it won’t be an issue, and for the brief duration of the spray’s effect, I’m willing to put up with it.
My impressions of Fabulous 10 in 1
I tried the spray solo for the first time based on Tanya’s review. And even after drying, it was obvious that this spray would not be sufficient for blonde hair, particularly for the ends, which had not been trimmed in seven months at the time of the initial test. The ends of the dried hair became tangled and stuck to one another. They also had that stiffness that comes from not getting enough moisture or care.
The length of hair with the spray was silky and airy, yet surprisingly elastic, so even in this version, it left a lasting impression on me. They developed a stunning motionless beauty. You kept reaching out to touch the hair! And they would be flawless if not for the issue with the ends.
Thankfully, the problem of not using enough of the product alone on the ends can be easily fixed. The second time, I started by giving the lower quarter of the hair a few sprays of Be-Loved lotion (also from Paul Rivera), then I generously sprayed Fabulous spray throughout the entire length, and finally, I applied Blond Absolu Kerastase oil to the lower half of the hair. At the same time as the spray’s effects were fully displayed in this version, there were absolutely no flaws!
After styling with this mixture, the hair is incredibly silky, elastic, and shiny. The styling product gives the hair a slightly stiff feel, but it also allows the comb and fingers to move through it without getting stuck. To put it another way, this rigidity gives the hair more elasticity and fixes the style while also allowing for completely dynamic movement and the absence of stickiness and matteness—all in all, a delightful combination! Indeed, the waves created by cold styling hold the best with this combination.
The Fabulous 10 in 1 spray Paul Rivera’s primary benefits are:
- a combination of light styling properties with care;
- giving a beautiful visual and shine to hair;
- versatility – it fits perfectly into care and works with any rinse-off care of various brands;
- stability of the result;
- ease of purchase – available in offline and online stores;
