There is no better hairstyle than a fresh slice or all that you wanted to know about the trim of hair, but were afraid to ask! My experience, thoughts and photos.

The biggest effects can occasionally come from the smallest adjustments. A new haircut—especially a clean trim—can revitalize your look and give you a confident, renewed sense of self. A trim is necessary for healthy hair whether you’re growing out longer locks or keeping your hair short.

I’ll discuss my personal experience with hair trims in this post, along with the benefits they provide and why they’re a sometimes overlooked aspect of hair care. We’ll also discuss common misconceptions about hair cutting and when is the best time to get a trim. I’ll also include some pictures to demonstrate the impact that a freshly cut piece can have.

This is the guide for you if you’ve ever wondered when and how often to cut your hair or if you’re hesitant to ask your stylist for the ideal cut. Together, let’s explore the world of hair trims!

I"ll start with practical advice to those girls who always leave the beauty salon in upset feelings

1) Since your hairdresser is not a telepath and cannot read minds either, tell them exactly how many centimeters you want removed, what cut you like, and which kind of scissors (regular or hot) to use right away! I’ll give you an illustration right now: I take a seat in a chair and declare that I want to cut my hair into a semicircle today by using regular scissors to trim it down by two centimeters.

2) There are those masters-pests who would like to cut off more of your length, saying things like, "This way will work better, your ends are completely damaged and cannot be restored, etc.d. For such masters, we always emphasize and repeat multiple times before beginning the haircut that you want to remove so much length and not a centimeter more! I spent several years growing my hair and I know from personal experience how difficult it is to get every centimeter of length! The number of centimeters to be removed is entirely up to you, but the master’s advice and recommendation are legitimate as they come from an expert.

3) Trim your hair with regular or hot scissors? I tried both methods and I can say the following – the hot scissors method allows you to "seal" split ends, this haircut gives your hair incredible smoothness and a look like in a shampoo commercial. But on my hair the effect lasted for about 2 weeks, and then completely disappeared. Trimming with hot scissors is several times more expensive than with regular ones. This procedure also takes longer than regular length trimming. In my salon, I pay 400 rubles for trimming with regular scissors, and about 1000 for hot ones – the difference is quite significant, so now I choose regular scissors. Although, if your finances allow it, I recommend the method of trimming with hot scissors.

4) Straight cut or semicircle cut, which is better to choose? For a long time I was striving for an even cut. Unfortunately, on my straight and rather thick hair, such a cut looked very “heavy”, especially in photographs it seemed as if the hair was chopped off, and I am cool about thinning the ends. The semicircle cut looks much more interesting, adds lightness to the image and gives ample scope for experiments with styling. Last time I chose a semicircle cut, and asked to cut the strands near the face in steps, believe me, the image after such a haircut is completely transformed and the hairstyle immediately takes on a shape.

5) When should you cut your hair? I suggest cutting off roughly 2 cm of length by doing this at least once every two to three months. I used to do everything I could to avoid going to the salon. I used to get manic periods where I wanted to grow my hair as long as possible.

My story about how I didn’t cut my hair for about 5 months

For clarity, I’ll tell you a story about how I didn’t cut my hair for about 5 months, from the beginning of April to September of this year. Yes, I managed to achieve my goal and grow it to the waist, but let’s take a closer look at the photos taken before trimming my hair. It is clearly visible that about 10 cm of the ends are far from being in the best condition – they are dry, stick out in all directions and look very sloppy, despite the fact that the hair in the photo is styled and straightened with an iron. I"m not even talking about combing – I decided to get a haircut when, despite regularly using moisturizing masks, oils and spray conditioners, the comb got stuck somewhere in the middle of the length, my hair began to get very tangled, almost into mats.

I went to the salon expecting to remove no more than the usual 2-3 cm. However, after examining my hair under strong lighting and in a big mirror, I came to the conclusion that I urgently needed to make a change because I didn’t like how my much-grown hair started to look and I didn’t like my reflection. Consequently, I cut off roughly 10 centimeters (! ), shaped the strands close to my face in stages, and made a semicircle incision.

Do you think I regretted this even a little bit? On the contrary, I left the salon light and refreshed, my hair became perfectly smooth, combed like butter, and the ends began to look very neat. The moral of this story: if I had not been so keen on growing out my hair and had visited a hairdresser more often, I would not have had to remove so much length in the end. By the way, more than two months have passed since such a “radical” trim, my hair has started to grow very well and still looks well-groomed, but according to my “schedule” I have already scheduled a trim at the end of November.

A new haircut can totally change the way you look, giving you more self-assurance and a more put together appearance. The feeling of freshly cut hair is immensely satisfying, whether you’re going for a simple trim or trying out a bold new style. I’ll discuss my personal hair trimming experience, my opinions, and some advice in this post, along with the reasons why maintaining well-groomed ends is essential for shiny, healthy hair. In addition, I’ve included some inspiration photos so you can see the benefits of getting a trim!
