A little about my hair

My hair is curly and has the potential to be curly. This allows it to be stretched and straightened to resemble straight strands, or worn in its natural state using CGM. Pros and cons apply to every case, but my goal has always been to showcase my curly potential. I was bothered by the following two things:

  1. refreshing or refreshing the styling – was a very problematic task, it didn"t work at all;
  2. hair structure – porosity decreased, and this improved the health of the hair, but, oddly enough, made styling difficult and even spoiled the appearance.

What is a curly refresh and what are its difficulties

I will go over the top for newbies because I believe curlies who have been on the site for a while don’t need a thorough explanation of this problem.

The key to gorgeously curly hair is to moisturize it at the same time and trap the moisture inside the curls to form a crust or cast that minimizes frizz. No matter how gorgeous the styling looks, the curls eventually sag and stretch due to humidity or environmental factors (pillows, clothing), and the hairs fall out of the formed strands, producing a halo of fluff. To revive the previous styling, we must remoisturize the hair, replenish the very cast that will curl the curls, and get rid of extra fluff (frizz).

Which methodological traps have I fallen victim to?

  1. Too much or too little water – you need to properly wet the strands, but they should not drip (otherwise the previously applied products will be washed off), at the same time all the hair both on the surface and in the middle of the curls should be properly wet;
  2. Tangled curls are not sorted out – by the evening or the next morning, individual hairs in my hairstyle get very tangled, creating a real "felt" – you need to properly sort them out with your fingers or comb them, if possible;
  3. Refresh the styling correctly – too much or too little – equally disastrous options. Ideally, the restyling product should be lighter than the one originally applied (well diluted with water or of a lighter structure).

In essence, these are all the nuances that I had to understand to achieve the intended outcome. However, things weren’t that easy to figure out.

How does hair structure affect styling

As previously mentioned, the construction greatly enhanced the quality of my hair. However, as I looked at the picture with the previous styling, I realized that I was getting less excited about the hairstyle itself: the curl almost didn’t twist, and the strands ended up being extremely relaxed. I attempted to strengthen and increase the styling funds, but it made no sense. For a while, I even gave up on using the curly method.

I gave up on it until I noticed the advice to use mousses, sprays, or varnishes at the "lazy" wave to increase light and air heaps.

After much research, the perfect cure was discovered: mousse for applying curls. discussed him here. I was ultimately persuaded that selecting the appropriate tool—in my case, one that would produce the desired twisting and curl formation—is just as crucial as adhering to styling technology.

A decision to restyle emerged when using a light tool for laying on less porous hair. I wanted something that was simple to use so that I could use it without any issues at work. It should also not weigh down my medium-porous, rather-thin hair, which constantly tends to stretch the formed curl. This product turned out to be an Ice Curly spray for texturizing and refreshing curls after two to three days.

Spray for curl texturing and styling refreshment on the 2-3 day ProActive Plant Coil Promoter and Swirl Effect Memorizer Styling and Refreshing Spray

The manufacturer promised (as I read on their blog) that the spray has a memory effect and a curling effect, which really bought me in. This is definitely something I need!

I use it not just for the first two to three days, but also to bring life back to a crumpled hairstyle or if I feel like there is too much fluff. In this case, pre-wetting the strands is not even necessary. I will elaborate on the product for you.

Packaging

Consequently, packaging that includes a spray bottle. Design: Ice Curly’s iconic laconic style is already well-known, but it’s still very attractive.

To prevent unintentional pressing, the spray has a plastic cap for protection. thick plastic. Your hand can comfortably accommodate the bottle. Such a spray is enjoyable and simple to use.

Description, composition

Regarding the refresh spray, the manufacturer states the following:

Description

Trehalose, wheat protein, and betaine combine to create a potent moisturizing complex that revitalizes hair. The product’s acid balance is excellent for the scalp and hair. The spray prevents dehydration, enhances curl formation, and functionally nourishes. lessens tangling, increases smoothness and softness, and keeps damaged and curly hair from frizzing out.

Promises

The spray helps to refresh your hair 2-3 days after washing, returns shape to disheveled curls.
This effect is achieved due to the optimal balance between fixing and cuticle-smoothing components: panthenol, lemon extract and a complex of soft acids (citric, glycolic, malic and succinic). The latter delicately break down small impurities on the surface of the hair, making it smoother, and the hair itself more manageable.
In addition to the main action, the rich formula of the spray with 97.8% natural ingredients allows you to solve a whole range of problems. Excellent moisturizer thanks to trehalose and sorbitol (natural sugars), grape fruit extract and betaine in the composition.
Soothes and eliminates microdamage – a relevant task at any age, especially if the scalp is prone to dryness. It is supported by the well-known medicinal properties of panthenol.
Restores the structure of curls with the help of hydrolyzed wheat protein. In terms of amino acid composition, it is as close as possible to the cuticle, so it integrates well into it, strengthening the hair shaft and preventing breakage, reducing the problem of split ends.

Composition

The ingredients of the hydrolyzed wheat protein are: aqua, isopentyldiol, betaine, glycerin, polyvinylpyrrolidone, panthanol, Tregaloza, phenoloxyethanol, ethylhexylglycerin, polysorbate-20, Decyl glucoside, sorbitol, citric acid, glycolic acid, malic acid, succinic acid, propylene glycol, Vitis vinifera (grape) fruit extract, citrus peel extract, fragrance

A highly intriguing product based on its composition, which includes my preferred ingredients (glycerin, proteins, and acids), as well as its descriptions, which seem to be full of promise. Fixatives and moisturizing/caring ingredients are present. These aren’t just platitudes; the product has to function, as I have personally experienced with the brand’s offerings.

Aroma

It smells nice, like a light white flower scent (lily of the valley, to my nose). After about an hour, it is no longer felt on the hair shade.

Application

It is sprayed with a fine mist; the drops are so tiny that my camera only captures the very beginning of the spray:

Whether you use it wet (pre-wet with water) or dry (only with spray) will determine how long it takes to style. I require roughly ten clicks in the first instance. In the second instance, 4-5. I also like to spray it over the finished style to get rid of the fluff on top of my head.

I use it every two to three days for about a month (though occasionally I need to refresh every two to three days). I usually use it consistently for a month or so. I finished off 25% of a 200 ml bottle.

Result

I didn’t find it surprising that the manufacturer kept all of their promises. The surprising thing was how little time I now dedicate to this routine of changing my look and how fast it comes together.

How I go about it:

  1. I wet my hair with water about halfway;
  2. I divide it into zones;
  3. I spray the spray for refreshing;
  4. I separate the waves with my hands or comb them (depending on the styling product I used earlier);
  5. I form curls by squeezing from the bottom up;
  6. I dry it (the best result is when using a hair dryer with a diffuser).

Everything proceeds almost instinctively and swiftly.

Another option is to lightly moisturise the product’s strands by spraying a sufficient amount, distributing it through the hair with your hands, gently squeezing the curls, and then drying. However, it only functions if the hairdo is slightly rumpled (for instance, by outerwear). The gorgeous structure will reappear, the curls will leap up, and the fluff that has emerged will be gathered. If my hair has fallen out while I’m traveling to work, I do this.

The outcome is shown in the picture (the first shows the styling being revived, and the second shows the original appearance):

I used foam for root volume and airy styling, a spray for styling control, and an Ice Curly curl memory effect for refreshing.

The "dry" method (simply spray on dry hair) is the second option.

For me, the "dry" method revives hairdos that are only slightly damaged, rumpled, or stretched. In this instance, the fixation worked better: I used Shea Moisture gel on top of the Ice Curly foam as a living.
