Snow-white saviors of my hair in hard water conditions – the Metal Detox line from Loreal Professionel

Taking care of hair in hard water can be quite difficult. The high mineral content, particularly from metals like copper, can cause the hair to become dry, dull, and brittle. Getting the correct products is crucial for those of us who have to deal with these difficult water conditions.

This is where L’Oréal Professionnel’s Metal Detox line comes into play. This line of hair care products is made to extract metals from hair and shield it from future harm, providing a healthier and more glossy look even in the most demanding aquatic settings.

This might be the game-changer you’ve been looking for if you’re sick of dealing with the dryness, breakage, and color fading brought on by hard water. Let’s examine how you can change your hair care regimen with these snow-white saviors.

About the Metal Detox line from Loreal Professionel

It’s interesting to note that various descriptions include details regarding neutralizing copper as well as the impact on iron particles, etc. On the other hand, the official website also states that copper is the metal that directly affects the quality of coloring and interferes with oxidation processes the most. The Metal Detox conditioner guards against the buildup of metallic copper particles in the hair’s structure and on its surface because of the unique Glycoamine molecule that is a part of it. I was unable to locate any information regarding the neutralization of calcium and iron particles.

There are two salon-use products and three home-use products in this series.

The salon section consists of:

Spray Metal Detox

About the product from the manufacturer

The Metal Detox spray contains the highest concentration (10%) of the patented Glycoamine molecule, which acts as a chelating agent to counteract the effects of copper on the hair’s surface as well as within. By reducing the hair’s fragility by 87%, the spray ensures that the coloring, balayage, or lightening service will turn out professionally. As a result, the shade is pure without sacrificing the hair’s quality. All dyes and lightening products are compatible with the Metal Detox line. How to apply: Apply prior to the services of coloring, lightening, or balayage.

Cleansing rinse-off Metal Detox

About the product from the manufacturer

The product is easily absorbed into the hair, has a light texture, and foams slightly during emulsification. shields cosmetic quality and hair color from UV radiation. Perfect for thin and fine hair. Double the shine and 87% less breakage were the outcomes. Apply following coloring, lightening, or balayage. Evenly distribute the product (10 ml) over towel-dried hair that has been cleaned with Metal Detox shampoo. Rinse well after one minute of leaving. For best effects, use the Metal Detox mask in addition to the treatment; the two items work in unison. The conditioner fortifies the hair and the mask moisturizes and softens it, giving it a more polished and healthy appearance.

According to salon protocol, the spray offers the highest level of metal neutralization, the shampoo aids in removing the neutralized particles, and the rinse-off treatment seals the effect and guards against additional metal buildup.

Included in home care are:

We’ll go into more detail about the Metal Detox oil, mask, and shampoo below.

The home-use products (oil, mask, and shampoo) also aid in neutralizing copper, according to their description. Where is the veracity? Furthermore, what is this enigmatic Glycoamine and how is it hidden in the product’s ingredients? This was beyond my comprehension, and if it weren’t for the amazing outcome I got when I used this line on my hair, I probably would have written all of these descriptions off as marketing gimmicks.

I’ll now discuss my usage experience with this series.

Serie Expert Shampoo for Restoring Colored Hair

There are two sizes of packaging for the shampoo: 300 ml and 1500 ml. And when the second 300 ml jar started to run out, I decided this shampoo was going to be my constant friend and bought 1500 ml. This is my hero:

The shampoo is creamy white in color and has a fairly thick consistency.

Golden Caviar’s distinctive aroma, which is primarily unisex and features a woody-musky accord with a tart bergamot note, is highly noticeable. Regarding fragrance, I used a mask from this line as my first product shortly after the series was released, but I didn’t use it consistently because of its potent scent, which stuck out brightly on my hair until I washed it again.

In my opinion, the manufacturer eventually lessened the strength of the aroma, or perhaps I just grew accustomed to it. However, I did not experience this issue with the subsequent jars I purchased, which were purchased a little later. Although I can’t say I’m in love with the smell, at least it doesn’t make me feel rejected and, more importantly, it doesn’t stick to my hair.

My observations:

This version of the shampoo is so economical that even with a small amount, you get a thick cap of delicate fine foam. I’ve trained myself to lather it in my hands and add more water when washing my hair. Enough foam for a foam party, if you go overboard and use more shampoo than is necessary.

The shampoo is very gentle and effectively cleans hair without causing any squeaks or breaks. The harshness and dryness that come with hard water either vanish or are greatly diminished after the first use. I tried using it alternately and constantly, and both times the outcome was fantastic.

For me, the use of shampoo when visiting friends with even harder water was the most indicative of how to use it. Even after going there on a regular basis for many years, I was never able to get my hair to look at least passably nice; it looked like a broom after just one wash. And after using shampoo, even without a mask (just conditioner), my hair returned to its usual state. That’s why, like with purple shampoo, I came to the conclusion that I absolutely needed this shampoo. Although it can be inconvenient, you are unable to live without it.

Mask for restoring colored hair Serie Expert

As I mentioned earlier, I first became familiar with the series’ products through the mask. I am currently using the third jar of the mask that I have purchased in a row, which says a lot.

The mask comes in 250 ml and 500 ml volumes; the 250 ml jars I had were available.

The goal of the mask, according to the manufacturer, is to nourish and restore hair, counteract the effects of metals, and maintain the quality of hair while preserving the color, balayage, or lightening that was applied in a salon. shields hair’s color and aesthetic quality from UV radiation.

How to use, recommended by the manufacturer

Avoid the area at the roots and apply evenly to hair that has been washed with Metal Detox shampoo and wrung out with a towel. Rinse well after one minute of leaving.

My observations:

The mask is white and has a consistency that is medium-dense. It is very simple to apply, and while the manufacturer suggests holding it for one minute, I have never actually tried to do so. I usually leave it for seven to twenty minutes, depending on how my morning goes.

If the claimed nutrition from the mask is there, it is very faintly felt by me. Additionally, there is no dryness after applying the mask, and it partially eliminates it, suggesting that it may have some moisturizing effect (though it obviously cannot be compared with strong moisturizing masks). The mask’s primary function is to remove and repair the damage caused by using hard water. The hair is incredibly soft, flowing, and smooth after it—everything I adore. The mask creates a really lovely visual.

For me, the most important thing is that the smoothness, dryness, and roughness are eliminated even after washing with other products! T.e. I now find that using shampoo three to four times a week and a mask once every seven to ten days is sufficient to maintain hair quality in hard water conditions with daily washing. Sometimes I get distracted by using other lines and forget about these products, but my hair quickly reminds me that I should be using Metal Detox shampoo on a regular basis.

Care for restoring hair along the length Aminosilane 2% + Ionen

Generally, this product is referred to as a conditioner in many stores and even on the official website. Simultaneously, the product description refers to "care," which in and of itself implies a salon rather than at-home cures.

I bought it by mistake. S.i. c. I like variety, I wanted to take the conditioner from the line, so that I could use other masks more often, but at the same time maintain the effect of the series. Even the first time I studied the products, I realized that this conditioner is not actually a conditioner, but a step in a salon procedure. But then I successfully forgot about it – and voila – I am holding a 500 ml bottle of this "conditioner" in my hands. Actually, this is the only size in which it is available. The bottle is equipped with a dispenser, to use quite convenient.

Description and method of application from the manufacturer

The light-textured product absorbs into the hair quickly and foams slightly during emulsion. Application technique: Apply following staining, clarification, or balazh services. Evenly distribute the product (10 ml) onto towel-squeezed hair that has been shampooed with Metal Detox. Rinse well after one minute of leaving. For best results, finish the Metal Detox mask care; the two products work in unison. The air conditioner fortifies and nourishes the hair while the mask moisturizes and softens it, making it appear more polished and healthy.

It’s already mentioned in the description that this mask softens and moisturizes. It’s amusing how the manufacturer’s description of the same tool keeps changing.

And in the end, where is the magical glycoamine? Alright, I give up and quit trying to find him because he is truly amazing.

My impressions:

The conditioner has an unusually gel-like, liquid, and completely transparent texture for a product of this kind! It easily lathers into noticeable foam when applied to hair; the foam isn’t as thick as that of the shampoo with the same name.

When I first tried using it by myself, I applied it to my hand-wrung out hair after shampooing, emulsified it to create foam, left it on for about five minutes, and then washed it off. Sadly, it was a complete failure. My hair was awful after drying; the ends clung to one another and protruded like a hedgehog, and it looked awful overall. ( I pushed the product to the back shelf because I was angry.

I remembered about it when I lightened the roots. And although I do not stretch the lightening paint along the length, I decided to try to finish the coloring with a balm: after washing off the paint with Metal Detox shampoo, I applied the conditioner in the same way, to the squeezed out I used my hands to rub my hair and emulsify it into foam. I kept it on for literally a minute, periodically emulsifying, and washed it off. But since after lightening the roots I like to apply soothing products to the scalp, and remembering the sensations after using the conditioner alone, after it I applied the Insight Post Chemistry mask, which I always finish the lightening process with.

And I had that amazing wow effect after using this combo!

The hair was incredibly soft, silky, and smooth, with just the perfect amount of softness. Compared to simply using shampoo and a mask, the outcome was noticeably brighter. Most importantly, even with regular hair washing with other products, it lasted for roughly a week! and stored properly; that is, after the first few washes, it remained exactly the same as it did right after using the product, then it progressively lost its noticeable appearance.

It was only natural for me to test the product by applying the mask afterward without first staining it. Because of this, it performed just as well when I used it with a variety of masks, including the original mask. By the way, I felt like my hair was overdone with the original mask, so maybe this time around the mask should only be on for ten minutes or so because the products work well together.

Regarding how often to use it, my empirical research has led me to believe that using it roughly once every two weeks is ideal. Use once a week; some excess is felt; excessive rigidity and dryness appear. I experience an equally amazing and prolonged effect after each use if you cut back to once every two weeks. The product works best when paired with multi-effects or nourishing masks, but my hair may be an indicator that more attention should be paid to nutrition these days.

This product, which was purchased in error, has generally grown to be one of the most cherished in this category as well as overall. Moreover, since I have so many other masks, maybe the next time I won’t buy a mask at all and will just give my attention to the conditioner and shampoo.

Concentrated Oil

It turned out that the concentrated metal detox oil was not like ordinary silicone oil treatments.

There is a 50 ml glass bottle of the oil available.

Description and method of application from the manufacturer

Metal Detox (DX) concentrated oil for making hair soft, shiny and silky. Preserves color brightness and is quickly absorbed into the hair without weighing it down. This is a new product in the Metal Detox range, which deactivates metal particles, preventing hair breakage and color distortion. Instant strengthening and nourishment of hair. 97% less breakage and 2 times more well-groomed hair after just one application. Hair is denser and more disciplined. 2 times more shine. A richer shade. The rich texture of the oil is instantly absorbed, making hair 10% denser without weighing it down. 3 times more control from curl formation and thermal protection up to 230°. For any hair type and texture, colored, damaged, bleached or natural.
Warm 1-2 presses in your palms, distribute evenly along the lengths and ends. Do not rinse. Proceed with styling or dry your hair naturally. Suitable for daily use on dry or towel-dried hair.

I’m not sure if I should use the oil on dry hair on a regular basis because it contains simple alcohol.

My observations:

The oil is somewhat thick and gel-like in consistency. And in spite of the reviews I had read beforehand, this was the biggest surprise for me. Well, I am no longer shocked by my attention to detail, considering the history of the conditioner purchase.

I feel like you can never use too much of this oil because of its consistency. Despite the fact that I have clear issues with product dosage and my hair is prone to overdoing things, this has never happened to me with this oil.

I use the oil only on towel-damp hair, primarily as a final coat following a rich leave-in conditioner, and I blow dry with a warm air hairdryer. Additionally, I find it difficult to explain the effects of this oil in a comprehensible way. Although it softens the hair, I still prefer regular oily oils because I was never accustomed to the gel’s consistency. I occasionally use the oil—often in conjunction with Bloody Valentine and Masha’s Magnay scheme—but love did not materialize. For this reason, this product’s review is the shortest of the entire series.
