To give my hair a boost after the winter, I made the decision to participate in a hair care marathon this spring. My hair needed to be strengthened, given more shine, and had less breakage. I followed a regimen for several weeks while experimenting with various products and treatments.
Although there were difficulties along the way, I gained a lot of knowledge about what my hair needed to stay vibrant and healthy. Every action I took, from modifying my washing schedule to experimenting with nourishing oils, produced noticeable results.
I’ll discuss what helped me during the marathon, how my hair has changed, and some advice for anyone wishing to give their locks a seasonal makeover in this post.

At the beginning of the journey
I said that the marathon is more educational for me in my opening post. I wanted to research my hair’s preferences, make plans, and examine how I took care of it. To jump ahead a little, though, I am happy with the work that has been completed.
Starting data
- Length – 43 cm.
- Density ~ 7 cm.
Targets
- Height – of course I would like it to be bigger, but I will be happy with 4 cm.
- Quality – do not lose and improve. Save the cut for as long as possible in order to cross the length of the hair to an even cut over time.
- Systematize care – although I found a lot of favorite products, but there are still many gaps in the care.
- Reduce brittleness – I understand that at the moment I will not be able to completely defeat the brittleness, but I will work to reduce it.
- Establish staining – I am in search of perfect products that will give a stable result.
How my marathon passed
Novelties of care
I had a lot of new products; some are in the process of being developed, while others have already become favorites.
In addition, I have a silk pillowcase and thermo-step from the new products that are not shown in the picture. and numerous castings. I sincerely appreciate Lena Elenaaa and Ele Ellelaflower.
- Pro Barex And Angel mask I talked about this post. I can say that at the moment my opinion has not changed.
- Tonic Daeng Gi Meo I introduced it into my hair care routine in mid-March, I can"t say that it accelerated my hair growth, in my opinion, it works more to strengthen the roots. I liked it, when it ends, I"ll probably repeat it.
- Vichy shampoo for sensitive scalp is just a godsend. Relieves itching, scalp sensitivity.
- Qtem ampoules I haven"t figured it out yet. My hair is a bit dry, my visuals are weak on both legs. I probably won"t repeat it, but I"ll give it a couple more chances.
- Angel conditioner has become my favorite, it smoothes out my hair perfectly, nourishes and conditions it. After it, my hair gets tangled less. I don"t use it alone, I cover my masks with it. I"m very glad that I bought a large volume at once.
- Honey serum from Vieso I use it as a leave-in treatment. Most often I use it right after washing my hair on damp hair and as a night treatment before braiding. I used 1 ampoule in 1.5 months.)
- Mask with perilla Vieso was another discovery for me. Together with Vichy shampoo, it perfectly soothes the scalp, and the hair is unrealistically soft and smooth. I also used it a couple of times for the length and was also satisfied.
- About Kerastase Resistance Ciment Thermique I wrote in this post. Each time I fall in love with it more and more.
I still haven’t opened my Kerastase red care package. It’s awaiting the right moment. But after reading the Magnay post, I’m already in love. I’m hoping to receive a few more new products soon; once I do, I’ll let you know about them.
In addition, I ran out of three products during the marathon, which were:
- Kaaral Royall Jelly excellent basic mask. I don’t plan to repeat it yet, the mask is too weak for blondes.
- TRESemmé with coconut didn’t suit me. I used it for pre-pu, so I got softening of the ends. It’s possible that this product will open up well on natural hair, but for blondes the product didn’t suit.
- Golden Silk hair spray “split ends resuscitation” "tips" used to make combing easier. Did not overload the hair, but did not give the "resuscitation of the tips".
Struggle for quality
I sometimes feel like I’m trying to flee from my struggle. There are moments when you think your hair looks amazing, and moments when you wish you could chop it all off with a "boyish" haircut to avoid the horror.
However, at this moment, I started to realize that my hair’s quality suits me far more often than it bothers me. I believe the following was helpful to me in this:
Putting a nighttime braid in my hair
I used to sleep with my hair either loose or in a bun. and had a huge tangle on my head when I woke up in the morning. I ripped out my hair with a comb because it was hard to comb. After wearing a braid for the night, my hair looks lot better now.
However, there is a tiny drawback: these are the waves that follow the braid. This made me feel a little embarrassed at first, but after realizing that my hair hardly ever tangles, I decided to move on.
Silk pillowcase
This is really amazing. I wholeheartedly endorse it to everyone. I’m thrilled that the topic of silk accessories has started to gain traction in the neighborhood. Thank you, sweet girls!
Implementation of care plans
The plans were very helpful to me. I now know which products work best together and what my hair will look like. Additionally, using a thermal cap consistently has greatly enhanced the quality of my hair. I now make it a weekly goal to warm up the masks.
Brittleness
I’ve been plagued by brittleness ever since I went blonde. My hair is brittle from repeated bleaching and just falls out of my head if I don’t take care of it.
My hair started breaking off less when I started using the second-day care, and its brittleness significantly decreased when I started using the Kerastase brand’s thermal care. My hair now falls out considerably less when I style it, and the length has started to look healthier and more put together. This is a victory, if not a major one, for me.
Systematization of care
After washing my hair, I spent the entire marathon snapping photos of my hair. I looked for and chose more effective schemes that show off my hair’s best features without stretching my powder-blond hair.
Thus, my top schemes:
Hydrating
Following the moisturizing regimen, hair:
Nourishment
Hair following dietary intake:
Restored
Hair following the restorative plan:
Scheme of smoothness
And hair following the series of smoothing:
My leave-in care has also been modified.
I only kept the items that I love and find work best for my hair. Wella oil is running out, and I don’t intend to buy more of it. I only intend to purchase a moisturizing hair spray at this time. I’m not sure which one I want to choose yet, but I believe I will be able to soon.
Additionally, I hope to replace the restorative scheme shortly. I feel like I need more intensive care and that these products are too weak for me. Now though, I’ll make do with what I have.
Coloring
I’ve already written about coloring in these two posts. I’m quite happy with how my hair turned out; it’s now clearer and cleaner. The darker hued streaks have vanished. It is now up to us to keep this outcome going.
I made the decision to stop toning the length every month in order to maintain the density for now. I’m going to employ the subsequent algorithm:
- Bleaching the roots with a 3% oxidizer with isolation of the stress zone
- Tinting the roots with pigment compaction
- Tinting the length with a color bath once every couple of months, possibly according to color mathematics.
And after coloring, try to find a new, stronger care. Alternatively, go back to Tefia’s Post Color Stabilizing Plasma. Although tefia care is not harmful, the ends ache afterwards. I’m currently considering Lanza Trauma. Excellent feedback for this product.
This spring hair care marathon in 2023 has brought noticeable results—my hair feels stronger, shinier, and more manageable. Consistent routines and nourishing products helped address dryness and split ends, and overall, I’ve seen a boost in my hair"s health and vitality. I"ll share what worked, what didn’t, and tips for anyone looking to improve their hair care regimen.
Results of the marathon
Thus, we arrived at the most fascinating.
48 cm in length.
An increase of 5 cm. In my opinion, it’s a fantastic outcome. Additionally, I like the visual even though the cut has become thinner. In order to remove the length, renew the cut, and trim off damaged ends later, I intend to introduce masks to stimulate growth throughout the summer and speed up growth soon after.
Since I believe density has decreased, I did not measure it. Even though the numbers are small, I don’t want to become angry over them.
Hair Condition Before Marathon | Hair Condition After Marathon |
Dry and brittle ends | Softer, well-moisturized ends |
Lack of shine | Noticeable increase in shine |
Frizz and flyaways | Smoother, more manageable hair |
Slow hair growth | Faster hair growth with regular trims |
Thinning hair | Fuller and thicker appearance |
The 2023 spring hair care marathon proved to be a fulfilling experience, demonstrating the significant impact that regular maintenance can have. Small adjustments can have a big impact, as evidenced by the noticeable improvements in the strength, shine, and manageability of my hair.
The importance of using products appropriate for my hair type was one of the most significant lessons learned. I quickly achieved healthier, more vibrant hair by customizing the routine to meet my unique needs.
All things considered, this experience underscored the value of perseverance and commitment. Anyone can maintain long-lasting results and improve the condition of their hair with the appropriate approach.
