My curly jars and accessories for curly hair: what I can”t imagine my KGM routine without and what can be replaced

If you have curly hair, you are aware that it’s a lifestyle choice rather than just a hairstyle. To maintain curls looking their best, the right products and tools are needed for management. With my curly hair routine, I’ve discovered my go-to jars and accessories that I just can’t live without over time.

While certain products are necessities, others can be replaced as needed. However, some are always in my rotation because they make curl management so much simpler. Every product, from wide-tooth combs to defining creams, helps to maintain the health and style of my curls.

If you’re creating your own curly hair routine, I’ll share what I find to be the most effective and recommend products to try. Even though some items are indispensable, if you’re experimenting or running low on your favorites, there are a few substitutes that can work just as well.

Curly Jar/Accessory Must-Have or Replaceable
Curl Defining Cream Must-Have, defines and shapes my curls
Wide-Tooth Comb Replaceable, sometimes I just use my fingers
Microfiber Towel Must-Have, helps reduce frizz after washing
Leave-In Conditioner Must-Have, keeps my curls moisturized
Diffuser Attachment Replaceable, air drying works fine too

Step 1. Pre-pu

As soon as I decide to wash my hair, I start with this. I use water to wet my hair and then apply a balm or mask, depending on the type of care I want to give it going forward.

A product for volume or nutrition will work if it’s moisturizing; if it’s restorative, moisturizing is the better option.

Since I color the length every month, I always use silicone-free products first, like a moisturizing mask or conditioner. The basma is still too loose to stay in my hair.

You’ll notice that in my pictures, the length appears lighter and the roots are darker. I’m not sure if this is because the henna was fixed that way or it burned out. However, the fact still stands. Though I may be speaking gibberish in a language I don’t understand, in theory, I even like this ombre or balayage effect. However, once the color is colored, it quickly becomes uneven and disappears.

And following a few washes is the next picture.

I’m not sure about you, but I can plainly see that there are ten centimeters of mostly curly, lighter length, and dark roots.

I’m still not sure why this is happening, but I do not understand. 🤷‍♀️

Let’s return to the pre-pu now. Personally, I think this is a crucial step because it will be much easier to work with your hair later if you properly comb it out before washing.

I was able to eliminate issues like hair tying into knots and constant tangling by consistently practicing pre-pu.

I purchased the olive and argan masks from "Fresh cosmetics" for pre-pu. I also own a conditioner called "Ticket to Iceland" from Planeta Organica, and I occasionally use a mask called Kaaral Liss for these purposes.

Generally speaking, any jar will work as long as you finish it even if it doesn’t fit or appeal to you. Purchasing anything especially for these uses is not required.

The most important thing to do at this point is to completely detangle and comb the hair; use a lot of water and feel free to add more conditioner or mask. It’s crucial that there be no abrupt movements. We proceed to the following step after the hair has been combed and untangled.

Step 2. Cleansing

Because of my normal scalp, I like shampoos without sulfates. swapping out for sulfate ones. I apply peels and scrubs.

I really like the shampoos from Vieso. Compared to sulfate Kaaral Energy, which makes you want to wash it after just three days, they allow the head to look decent even on the fourth day.

I always give my scalp two baths! To give the shampoo time to do its job, I give it a few minutes the second time. I always use dripping foam to wash the length of my hair and gently massage my scalp because I need to get rid of all the styling product. I rinse with lots of water after that.

I’m not even going to try the traditional curly method of cleaning the scalp, which usually involves using a kovosh or washing with conditioner. My soft sulfate-free shampoos are gentle on the length and offer good cleansing, so I’m happy with them.

Alfaparf’s smoothing salon shampoos are overly gentle, which is why they didn’t work well for me. However, I enjoy using them; I also have a tiny, pink one that is moisturizing.

I bought a washing brush because I truly miss the sensation a brush leaves on my scalp ever since I stopped brushing my hair on dry hair. It gives the scalp a very light, gentle massage. Ahh. Inexplicable feelings. 128579;

Next, we proceed to the next step after cleaning.

Step 3. Conditioning

Next, we apply the conditioner after rinsing the shampoo off.

I always apply a mask after shampooing because I still have a ton of them, but I won’t go into detail about that here because the conditioner is the most important ingredient in the curly method.

A consumable is conditioner. There are times when you really do need a lot. For instance, it shouldn’t cost a lot to detangle hair for pre-p. It’s an unwritten rule that you should use five times as much conditioner as shampoo! Money cannot be saved!

In fact, there are many incredibly valuable balms for curly hair with stylish compositions among the inexpensive products! The curly method calls for a silicone-free conditioner!

We use conditioner to hydrate our hair; we can remove it from our hair using the drip method while simultaneously squeezing them out. You can use the basin method or the squish to condish technique.

I have two Petal Fresh air conditioners, and I truly like them:

  • With olive and grapes for moisturizing;
  • With mint and rosemary for volume.

They’re both awesome! Excellent "algae" hair, which helps to create curls and hold moisture in them.

We proceed to the following step after conditioning and curl formation.

Step 4. Plopping

We wrap our extremely wet hair in a towel after slightly squeezing it to prevent water from dripping off it. Not a terry one, though! It will plump up our curls and remove all the moisture.

I have a two-layer tencel turban towel and a microfiber turban. Though microfiber is better than tencel, my hand has been gravitating toward it lately.

Tencel leaves hair incredibly wet, making handling it much simpler. Initially, I was a little let down by this device since the turban practically does not absorb extra moisture; instead, it dripped down my neck and back, slipping and failing to contain my long, thick hair that had swelled with water.

However, after getting used to it, I now adore this towel over the microfiber one, and naturally, I have dreams of wearing a silk turban. One day, perhaps, I’ll treat myself.

I believe that everyone is aware that my hair can become frizzy in a standard cotton T-shirt if there isn’t any microfiber, tencel, or silk in it. That’s how I started, too.

Remove after 5 to 15 minutes and proceed to the next step.

Step 5. Livin

I haven’t used any of this category’s special products yet. I use the readily available leave-in creams for these purposes. These are the following:

  • Vieso Honey Cream;
  • Lebel Moist Essence;
  • Leave-in conditioner Alfaparf Nutritive:
  • Leave-in conditioner Kaaral Liss.

I believe I have never used the cream Angel with immortelle; it does not currently fit into any schemes. Because proteins are present in the composition, Honey Vieso triumphs and is unquestionably worth repurchasing.

Some products contain silicones, which makes them inappropriate for use with the curly method.

Generally speaking, apply the cream after flattening and drive it into the hair using a jamming motion. I came to the conclusion that it is preferable to take a portion the size of a dessert spoon instead of saving. The product is evenly distributed throughout our hair, which is extremely wet.

In the event that the curls abruptly dry out, you can mist them with water using a spray gun or soak them from underneath the crane. Our life depends on water! Remember not to overlook it.

If you don"t have a lyvin.

We move on to the following phase.

Step 6. Styling

The importance of excellent styling cannot be overstated. He needs to properly adjust the curls without over-drying or damaging his hair.

Choose a composition that doesn’t contain alcohol. Here, it is even more beneficial to concentrate on specialty curly hair brands because they are typically the ones who produce high-quality goods.

I always work in two stages:

I use foam for volume and curl and gel for fixation on my long hair.

Orange Angel was my first gel, and it performed its functions admirably. I then tried Curl Rock and Roll Strong Hold gel, which produces an even better outcome. It’s my favorite thus far. This combination is fantastic with the eponymous foam. It’s true that I’m out of foam right now. Without a doubt, I’ll do it again.

This primer from Curl Rock and Roll, by the way, can be used as a liven, but I don’t have anywhere to put it yet. Since all the schemes are explained, I prefer to use it as a refresher. It’s easy to understand.

It is not felt on the hair, gives no cast, and curls hair wonderfully!

Style from the business Noah Right now, I’m testing it. It is incredibly hydrating, particularly the mousse. Furthermore, my interest in protein foams has grown.

Foam "Protokeratin": I’ve tried it once, and it really helps with curl formation.

Foam And now, move on. Although I have been using it for a while and truly enjoy it, I will purchase foam from Laboratorium the next time because of their significantly lower price and identical composition (joint development with So go ahead).

Gel Taft hasn’t given it a try yet.

Awaiting the foam from Insight as well. excellent reviews for her. I also have a great deal of respect for the company Insight overall. Perhaps in the future, I’ll take a gel.

The hair was styled, and we proceeded.

Step 7. Drying

Everyone is free to select a hairdryer or natural drying methods based on what is most convenient for them. The second is my preference.) Natural drying is time-consuming, wet, inconvenient, and results in long, stretched curls, all of which I did not enjoy.

For this reason, I prefer using a hair dryer for styling. The diffuser attachment is yet another crucial component. It should be roomy, cozy, and ideally have sides to keep the curls from flying away.

I use two hair dryers right now:

  1. BaByliss Smooth Pro 2100;
  2. Super Hair Dryer – budget analogue of the well-known hair dryer.

Both hair dryers work well, but recently I’ve found myself reaching for the second one since it’s smaller and lighter.

I always dry my hair at maximum speed and minimum temperature (1 mode). Here the replica blows very, very hot air on this mode – I don’t even dry the root zone this way, since there is a risk of getting burned (I already had this). Then I smeared my scalp with aloe gel. It helped. But my hair dries in 20 minutes. And of course, I always alternate temperature modes.

Regarding the diffuser attachment, the bowls of both hair dryers are fairly spacious, and the BaByliss even has a very nice feature.

The curls bounce back and curl more forcefully because they were dried using a diffuser.

If you don’t have a diffuser.

The main thing for me is that the curls grab a lot of interest by 80, and the hair dries completely during the night. Usually, I don’t dry my hair all the way through.

I break the crust that forms from styling only in the morning when the curls have finished drying. I use oil for these purposes.

When the cast breaks the next day, this is how my hair looks.

Step 8. Additional accessories

That’s not all, though. Both natural and synthetic silk products help me maintain my curls. I have two silk pillowcases that I use mostly for sleeping. Nothing bad will happen to my curls in the morning, so I don’t even need to gather them into a ponytail.

Considering that every pillowcase comes with a silk elastic band as a gift, it’s a good thing I sat down to write this post! And I forgot about it entirely. 🤷‍♀️ A welcome surprise.

My hair looks like this after I’ve slept on a silk pillowcase. Nothing happened, there was no refresh. day two following washing. My hair is pulled up in a high ponytail at the back of my head, a la "pineapple," if I sleep on satin.

I also tuck the end of my long hair under the elastic band when I wear a ponytail. It transpires in this way.

It is still preferable to remove the hair because satin is not as kind to hair as silk is.

When it comes to hair accessories, I like satin, crabs, and a rubber banana. Silk elastic bands are typically made of natural silk, though one is made of artificial silk. For special events, there are numerous exquisite iron hair clips available.

I don’t usually do hairstyles. I wear a malvinka at work and at home, gathering my hair with a hair clip at the back of my head. When I apply a mask to my hair, I use the large rubber hair clip in the bathroom, the medium one at home, and the smallest one at work to gather my curls.

Small rubber bands are my favorite because I can wear them as a bracelet or as decoration. I think it looks good, and the hair clip is always handy in case I have to quickly take my hair out.

Now that winter is here, I’m worried about how I’m going to keep my curls under a jacket. In the winter, I usually wore a hat and hid my hair under a jacket after tying it up in a ponytail or braid (okay, sometimes I just hid it without gathering it, but let’s be honest, that’s not how my hair usually gets tangled).

I’ve decided to try something different this time. I bought an artificial silk scarf, which I plan to wear with my hair tucked underneath. If it gets really cold—which I don’t expect because our winters are typically warm and more humid than cold and snowy—I’ll wear a hood over the scarf.

Naturally, I don’t think I look good with a headscarf on. It’s roughly the same with glasses on, but not with. 🤦‍♀️ I’m accustomed to wearing hats. But what can you do? Beauty demands giving up something. 🤷‍♀️

When it comes to my curly hair routine, a few key products and accessories are non-negotiable: my trusty microfiber towel for frizz control, a wide-tooth comb for gentle detangling, and my favorite curl cream for defining those perfect waves. While some items like scrunchies can be easily replaced, these essentials keep my curls looking their best without the hassle. Having the right products and tools makes all the difference when it comes to maintaining healthy, defined curls. From my favorite styling gels to diffusers, these essentials keep my hair looking its best and help me embrace my natural texture. However, not every product is irreplaceable. Some can easily be swapped out depending on your hair’s needs or availability. The key is finding what works best for you and sticking with it, while also being open to experimenting when necessary. Ultimately, building a curly hair routine is about understanding your curls and what makes them thrive. With the right jars and accessories, your hair will feel as good as it looks. Curly Jar/Accessory Must-Have or Replaceable Curl Defining Cream Must-Have, defines and shapes my curls Wide-Tooth Comb Replaceable, sometimes I just use my fingers Microfiber Towel Must-Have, helps reduce frizz after washing Leave-In Conditioner Must-Have, keeps my curls moisturized Diffuser Attachment Replaceable, air drying works fine too

Results

Let’s summarize now. You are not seeing things if you felt that this post I wrote and this post about the curly method were similar. Although there have been new products added and I have more experience, the steps are essentially the same.

Have you even noticed the product that serves as the foundation for the entire curly method? Indeed, it’s conditioner! Thus, having a balm with a decent composition is already half the fight won. I counted up to six different ways to use conditioner in KGM overall:

  1. Pre-pu;
  2. Kovosh;
  3. Directly conditioning;
  4. Mask – wet your hair well with water, apply a lot of conditioner, put it under a cap for 20-30 minutes, you can warm it up;
  5. Instead of livin;
  6. For refreshing – mix a little conditioner with water in a spray bottle and spray it on your hair for refreshing your styling. At sea, I used this method to protect from the sun and additional hair moisture.

That might be all.

I appreciate you taking the time to talk to me now.

I give a big hug to all of you, girls.
