Must be repeated! My top Kérastase products, their correct use, and integration into the care system for colored and damaged hair

For colored and damaged hair to remain healthy, lustrous, and manageable, extra care is needed. Constant coloring, heat exposure, and styling can weaken the strands over time and increase their fragility. Maintaining the beauty of your hair requires finding the right products that treat and protect it.

Kérastase is unique among hair care brands in that it provides a selection of superior products that are designed to address various hair concerns. I use a few essential Kérastase products in my routine because they have significantly improved the condition and look of my colored hair.

I’ll talk about my favorite Kérastase products, how to use them correctly, and how to incorporate them into a thorough hair care regimen. You can keep your hair looking its best, strengthen your strands, and restore vibrancy with the appropriate technique.

Product Usage and Care Integration
Kérastase Resistance Bain Force Architecte Use as a daily shampoo to strengthen weakened, damaged hair. Apply on wet hair, massage, and rinse. Follow with a conditioner for better results.
Kérastase Masque Chromatique Apply once a week after shampooing to protect and nourish colored hair. Leave for 5-10 minutes, then rinse thoroughly.
Kérastase Ciment Thermique Use before heat styling to protect hair from heat damage. Apply to towel-dried hair and style as usual.
Kérastase Elixir Ultime Apply a small amount to dry hair for added shine and smoothness. Can be used daily as a finishing touch.

Fondant Densite Densifique milk for hair thickness and density

In my cabinet, this is the first product that weighs more than a kilogram. That is to say, even after starting the second liter, I find it impossible to put it down. About a year ago, I completed a thorough analysis.

Out of all the hair products I have, this milk is my most favorite and frequently used one. The best in every way for me.

Full composition of the product

Aqua / Water – Behentrimonium Chloride – Cetearyl Alcohol Isopropyl alcohol, lactic acid, hydroxyethylcellulose, starch acetate, cetyl esters, and aminopropyl triethoxysilane – Chlorhexidine – Hexyl Cinnamal – Linalool Citronellol, 2-Oleamido-1,3-Octadecanediol, Safflower Glucoside, Ci 19140 / Yellow 5, Ci 17200 / Red 33, Digluconate, and Citronellol – Tocopherol – Sodium Citrate – Parfum / Fragrance – Sodium Hyaluronate

First, the drawbacks, which I was still aware of a year after continuous use:

  • this product is without silicones, which I really love, and sometimes I just miss them. Basically, I notice the lack of protection in wash-off care in the off-season. It lacks more smoothness, better conditioning, detangling of hair. This can be solved by adding rinse-off and/or leave-in care with silicones / film formers.
  • the milk is strong, but for damaged hair, milk alone will not be enough for full care. You will also need moisturizing ampoules and/or restorative masks.
  • no nutrition. In winter, it is worth adding nourishing masks and/or stronger creamy leave-in products.

The enormous benefits are about to begin!

This milk can replace all rinse-off care, meaning that hair that is not severely damaged—that is, that doesn’t have split ends or brittleness—by pulling out hair without the use of masks and ampoules. Such a versatile product: it contains ceramides and potent hydration. The only issue is nutrition, though not all hair types require it constantly.

Thickens fine hair. Very well thickens. Density is particularly apparent when hair is rapidly falling out of the head and appears very sad.

Perfect for aging and fragile hair. Restores gently (without losing elasticity), doesn’t weigh down, and doesn’t overnourish (don’t overexpose!).

Devoid of keratin. Since its excess results in stiffness and brittleness, I believe that its absence is crucial.

Adds shine and prolongs the scent of hair. I love perfumes, so I enjoy it when my hair smells nice and fragrant—not like apple or fruit, but like something more intriguing. While some purchase specialty hair mists for this purpose (perfume mixtures without alcohol or with less alcohol than in perfume water), I believe that aromatization can be achieved with simple care.

This is the most enduring and robust love, so naturally, if I had to choose just one item from the brand, I would leave it. Since I use milk more often than other products, practically all of the hair pictures in my posts are taken after this rinse-off treatment.

My porous hair care system with Densifique fondant milk

As previously mentioned, the milk lacks nutrition, and I always make sure to supplement it during the winter months because porous hair rapidly loses moisture (and, as we all know, silicones are not present in milk).

The plan (which involves washing your hair every day or every other day) looks like this:

  1. Shampoo according to your scalp type (I wrote about how I choose a shampoo here).
  2. I apply Densifique Fondant milk to wet or squeezed-out hair (both methods are good, they have different effects) for 5-7 minutes. I do not keep it on for too long. I wash it off with plenty of water.
  3. I apply a light leave-in spray to towel-dried, but still wet hair (now I love these textures, maybe I’ll write in more detail why I switched to them). I have My Promise Paul Rivera. I dry my hair with a hairdryer to 50%.
  4. I apply oil (I have L"Huile Originale Elixir Ultime) with silicone and dry my hair completely.
  5. Once a week, instead of milk, I apply a nourishing mask Elixir Ultime Kerastase for 5-10 minutes on hair wrung out with a towel after washing with shampoo. I wash it off by emulsifying with plenty of water. In this case, there is only one leave-in product – My Promise Paul Rivera. Full blow-drying. I don"t add oil.

Heat protection and leave-in care with a creamy texture

I would without a doubt rank Kerastase cream leave-in products (not oils)!) as my second-favorite personal necessity. They were, are, and will be in my life forever. Since they are the stars of the care industry and have a significant impact on the aesthetic appeal of damaged hair.

This place won’t sell any particular goods. Every Kerastase heat protection product works (I’ve used about half of the ones that are currently available in the brand’s assortment). Naturally, they differ from one another and have various effects. Every one with unique properties (texture, ceramide content, oils, fatty and simple alcohols, etc.). After accurately assessing the intended outcome and the hair’s current state, I’m sure you’ll be happy with the purchase.

Any thermal protection product’s primary purpose is to shield hair from extreme heat and form a protective layer. Simple alcohol is nearly always present in thermal protection. Leave-in creams are likely to be free of alcohol and contain more nourishing and moisturizing ingredients, oils, and/or both. Moisturizing, nourishing, and/or restorative properties are the primary functions. Furthermore, it is preferable if your hair dries naturally.

Out of all the products I’ve tried in this category, my two favorites are the Nutritive Magistral cream (which is incredibly nourishing and I use it in the winter) and Genesis Défense, which is new to my care. In addition, I would like to draw attention to the thermal care product Extentioniste Thermique, which I had in my makeup bag for the previous two years. I now prefer the new spray Zhenesis, which took its place as the novelty.

Both yes and no. I suggest you to examine the ingredients of a particular heat protection product and avoid using it daily if simple alcohol (alcohol denat.) is listed in the first few positions! Such thermal protection can be used on a daily basis and the condition of the hair can be evaluated if Alcohol Denat. is closer to the end of the composition and there are numerous other moisturizing, nourishing, and restoring ingredients as well.

Types of thermal protection Kerastase

I’m going to give you some tips on how to pick the right thermal protection from a wide range of brands without making a mistake.

You must first choose between the following options:

  1. What is the main problem now? (dryness, damage, brittleness, lack of volume, etc.
  2. What effect I want to get from the means (smoothness, softening, smoothing, lightness and volume, etc.
  3. Type of hair (porous, low porous, damaged, dry, etc.) and the frequency of washing the head.

Everyone! Once you have the answers to these three questions, you can enter the apple and select what will truly satisfy you for a very long time by using my mini-spargel.

If you prefer lightness over extra weighting, your hair is thin and low, and you find it difficult to wash your head every day, you should think about moisturizing and regaining light textures. They are available in the brand in bottles with dispensers or in the form of a spray (milk or something in between milk and water). Extentioniste Thermique in the tube is an exception. He resembles a mixture of cream and fluid.

Cream thermal protection will be perfect if you want pleasant severity and smoothness, your hair is porous and will "eat everything that you will not give," you need maximum care (nutrition, restoration), you aren’t embarrassed by the volume concealment, and you wash your head every day. They’re enclosed in tubes. There is a denser texture and a strong sense of care.

If there is no treatment for severely damaged hair. The cream has the capacity to. The weighting and thick texture. However, perfect softness and a potent healing impact. Although I primarily use it in the winter, I truly adore this heat protection.

One feature that sets the Kerastase L"incroyable Blowdry styling series apart is its heat protection. In contrast to thermal care, it corrects styling and provides protection from high temperatures, but it has a less nurturing impact. I was far less fond of thermal care.

Additionally, the brand just unveiled the Curl Manifesto line, which includes leave-in products, heat protection, and even a refresher spray! I haven’t tried or studied any of the products in this series because my hair type is different, and they’re not included in today’s selection.

Always use heat protection on damp hair (after squeezing out extra moisture with a towel or by hand). A hazelnut-sized ball represents one section for long hair (up to the shoulder blades). If the hair is longer, then slightly more; if it is shorter, then less. I apply my length in two parts. Don’t go overboard with the quantity!

You can use cream leave-in treatment as a "second day" treatment on wet or dry hair.

What about oil, then?

Ta-da-da-daaaam. Furthermore, oil doesn’t make my list of essentials since I don’t find anything special or useful about it. Although I use it and it’s great, I doubt I’ll buy it again. I prefer certain brands of oils over others.

I no longer pursue a blinding shine, I’ve given up on multi-layered care, and finishing oil has totally taken the place of thermal protection in my opinion.

Specifique Hydra-Apaisant Moisturizing Mask

All hair types require adequate hydration, as any hair addict is already aware. Additionally, a moisturizing product will be required if the scalp is experiencing issues.

My star and my ocean are this mask. I wrote a once- or twice-page essay about it.

I’m not sure how many jars I had before—three, I believe—and nearly as many are still in storage. I really ought to have it at all times. This is the pinnacle of hydration. Superb work on the hair canvas and the skin (strong hair and a healthy scalp). Anyone who has read my previous posts is aware that I have used Kaaral’s amazing moisturizing ampoules Restructur and their popular Hydra; in fact, I have even compared the two masks’ effectiveness. Put simply, I receive less frizz and more hydration.

Full composition of the product:

Aqua / Water – Glycerin – Quaternium-87 – Cetearyl Alcohol – Behentrimonium Chloride – Hydroxypropyl Starch Phosphate – Candelilla – Phenoxyethanol – Tocopherol – Rhamnose Cera/Candelilla Wax – Propylene – Menthol Isopropyl Alcohol, Caprylyl, 2-Oleamido-1,3-Octadecanediol, and Glycol Carnosine, Glycol, and Moringa Extract from Pterygosperma seeds, Disodium phosphate, Citric Acid, and Glycine Parfum / Fragrance – Soja Oil/ Soybean Oil

The only mask that I’ve found that worked for both my old hair type (thin, low porosity) and my new hair type (high porosity, mixed thin and thick, with a significant amount of gray hair and glassy gray hair) is Hydra-Apaisant. That’s why it’s special and irreplaceable in my opinion. adoration.

How I use this mask and integrate it into my care system

Initially, I wear this mask for 20 to 30 minutes (a mask should typically be worn for 7 to 10 minutes), and if I want, I can warm it up with a damp towel. The result of this application method is hair that is elastic, cool, soft, and smooth—almost like moisturizing and restorative ampoules. Frizz almost never occurs. I don’t use conditioner to cover it.

I consider this to be a spa care product, and I find that using it once a month is sufficient for its effects. I can use it more frequently if the skin is extremely reactive, but I normally try to avoid letting it get to that point.

I don’t use it on skin that is irritated for the first week after coloring. I try not to use it on "empty" hair because it needs other strong products to work well with it, like nourishing or restorative masks. You cannot achieve the desired result by just replacing it with a conditioner.

Spray against hair loss with aminexil Specifique Stimuliste

Additionally, Aminexil generally, as well as the brand’s products that include this active ingredient in their formula (two lines: Specifique and Genesis).

Click this link to learn more about Aminexil’s benefits. I compiled all of my knowledge and expertise from using money with it in that post.

I tested both spray and ampoules containing aminexil. Because it is more affordable and easier to use, I preferred the spray.

For a total of three months, I can use one bottle every other day for two courses. or if one course is taken once a day.

Even though it doesn’t claim to have the ability to accelerate growth, I grew and am still maintaining the current length with it. It wasn’t until last fall that I could truly understand the impact of fighting hair loss. However, I was so stressed out that my hair kept falling out. Only after using the spray for two months and bringing my emotional state back to normal did the hair loss stop. But generally speaking, I think that no amount of makeup can make up for poor health (including mental health).

What made it so great, in my opinion?

  1. strengthening the roots
  2. maximum overclocking growth (you need to stock up on, the effect appears only after 1.5 months. of use)
  3. reducing hair loss and, accordingly, maintaining and increasing density
  4. Ease of use

Full composition of the product:

Aqua / Water, Alcohol Denat, Oxide of Diaminopyrimidine, Arginine, Citric Acid, Menthoxypropanediol, Safflower Glucoside, Nacinamide, Hexyl Cinnamal, Butylphenyl Methypropional, Geraniol, Parfum / Fragrance, Benzyl Alcohol, C35474/1.

How to use stimulants with aminexil

  • The course of application is 1.5 – 3 months
  • It is possible to use not every day, but at least 3 times a week. This does not reduce the effectiveness!
  • Be sure to combine with a scalp massage
  • Use peels and/or scrubs according to your scalp type
  • Do not mix with other strong components! This is very important. If you use aminexil, use only it. It is possible to have mint/menthol in shampoos or peels, but do not combine it, for example, with stemoxidine. The effect is unpredictable.

Contains alcohol, which can dry out and make irritated or sensitive skin more reactive. If your skin is currently out of balance, you should calm it down before stimulating it.

I’ve always had sensitive skin, and in the 2.5 years that I’ve used this spray, there haven’t been any issues. However, I had to stop stimulating last fall because I developed head pimples and temporal zone peeling from using it on irritated skin. Don’t make the same errors I did.
