Maintenance of red and red shades, toning with Ollin and Estel pigments

Although red hair colors are striking and vivid, they can be difficult to keep intense. Red tones can fade over time and lose their vibrancy and richness, particularly if they are frequently washed or exposed to the sun.

To maintain the vibrancy of your red or reddish hues, regular toning is necessary. Estel and Ollin pigments are two excellent choices for maintaining the brightness and integrity of those fiery hues. These pigments give your hair shine and nourishment while also helping to revive the color.

This post will discuss the advantages of toning with these pigments and offer helpful advice on how to keep your red hair striking and vibrant.

To keep the color vibrant and fresh, special care must be taken with red-toned and vibrant red hair. The richness of these shades can be intensified and maintained with the use of expert toning pigments such as Ollin and Estel. Frequent toning ensures that the hair looks healthy and vibrant by reviving the intensity and adding shine and depth.

Cost: 245 rubles 100 milliliters is the volume. The tint’s vivid color closely resembles the color that anthocyanin produced. uniform, medium viscosity consistency. Sweet scent that borders on cloying.

I followed the instructions exactly, washing my hair with regular shampoo and using a towel to dry it. The image illustrates how the primary red tone was retained despite some fading.

To better distribute it over the hair and avoid wasting the entire tube, I slightly diluted it with water. Using the resultant mixture, scoop it into a bun. The shade appears juicy orange on hair.

Momentum I chose to use the tint for approximately an hour in order to extend the exposure time. I used water to wash it. You can see that hair has depth of tone when it’s wet.

Result and resistance

The outcome startled me a little once the hair had completely dried. It was immediately apparent to me that the shade was far less effective than the outcome produced by anthocyanin. He is not as wealthy or intelligent. However, the hair appeared brilliant due to the neon nature of the dye itself. It’s not bad, but I wish I was smarter.

Resistance: Evaporated quickly and completely, leaving no trace. Was a boy present?

The second section of the OLLIN tube I entered an area that anthocyanine had sadly caused me to miss, and it was paler than the bulk of my hair. applied with a brush only to dry hair.

Able to enter the color. A brighter color is produced by undiluted ollin.

The hunt went on. because, despite being bright and saturated, the OLLIN in the shade of Cooper (copper) did not suit me, and its brief duration irritated me. I made the decision to look for alternative color updates.

On the Internet, I learned about Direct Action Pigments and another business:

60 milliliters in volume Cost: 250 rubles

They received more favorable reviews on the Internet, where people said their colors were purer and brighter. I also didn’t have to travel far to find them; I simply purchased a set of red and yellow paint to experiment with and plan to combine them later. I noticed a comparable experiment in one of the VK groups; it was well-designed, and the choice seemed appropriate.

Consumption: In the first experiment, a full tube of yellow and less than half of a red tube were used, and the mixture had to be diluted with hair balm because, for someone with, say, shorter and thinner hair, this mass was apparently insufficient. Nevertheless, the mixture’s volume had to be increased.

Consistency: Comparable to pigments from Ollin. Red paint is dense and saturated, while yellow paint is more fluid. Work until smooth.

Lighter in scent and less overbearing than Ollin.

Applying the dye to my clean, damp hair, I walked around for approximately an hour afterward and wrapped it in a bun. The color appears on the hair precisely the same as it does when using copper-colored Ollin dye.

Result

Although the shade was relatively light, it was already noticeably brighter than copper ollin. A subtle change to a red hue occurs.

By the window during the day:

In comparison to the ollin pigment experiment, this coloring did not last as long. It is truly unfortunate… However, I diluted it with a balm at the time, which might have decreased its durability. Purchasing extra paint was my decision to try again. The roots became distinctly white, but the color did not go from the length of the hair; the shade persisted.

Estel’s red is highly pigmented and dense, so I had to purchase two yellow pigments. Since a second tube of yellow Estel was not available, I opted to dilute the yellow pigment Ollin, which still works better than a typical balm and has a good volume.

We will contrast two yellow pigments from various manufacturers at the same time. Let’s begin with Ollin’s pigment.

Ollin Matisse Color direct action pigment, in the shade Yelloy

Uniform consistency, medium viscosity, and higher liquid content than Estel pigment.Tonal color devoid of depth.

Yellow pigment Estel XTRO

Consistency: second thickest, right behind Estel, a red pigment. dense, unadulterated hue. higher saturation than the pigment Ollin.

Since the red pigment Estel is equally fascinating, let’s talk about it as well.

Thick consistency with a deep, saturated color.

However, if you look closely at a thin layer of pigment, you can see an intriguing pink tint. This fact, however, had no bearing on the outcome because the color did not turn pink.

Preparation of the mixture

One complete 100 ml tube of Ollin Yellow Pigment – Estel red pigment remnants (roughly 30–40 ml) – 60 milliliters of Estel yellow pigment dilution

This time, I used a deep cleansing shampoo to wash my damp hair before applying the color. The red dye prevailed. The color turned red even while the dye was still in my hair. I used it for roughly sixty minutes.

Result

A deep shade of red-orange. It turned red at first, which bothered me a little, but I ended up liking it because it’s so juicy.

Durability

The coloring lasted a little bit longer this time. The color remained in place even after two regular hair washes.

The third caused the color to start peeling off the roots.

The roots turned whiter after the fifth hair wash. The color is nothed so intensely in length. Although I acknowledge that the color from the roots was removed more quickly due to the shampoo that included a root mask, I do not rule out this possibility.
