Love Beauty&Planet: cheap, cheerful and fragrant

Love Beauty & Planet has emerged as a leading brand for consumers seeking reasonably priced, superior hair and cosmetic products. This brand, which prioritizes sustainability, has a large selection of products that smell great and are good for the environment.

Their collection of conditioners and shampoos is distinguished by its heady, energizing scents that keep your hair smelling fantastic all day. Love Beauty & Planet products are made to provide your hair with the necessary care without going over budget, so it’s not just about the smell.

Every hair type can find something from Love Beauty & Planet, which is also eco-friendly, whether you’re looking for hydration, shine, or volume. Additionally, using them feels like a little treat in your daily routine because of their brightly colored packaging.

About the brand Love Beauty & Planet

Although the brand is fairly well-known, I did not find any specific information about it on the website; rather, I only found some general information. One of the countless daughters of Unilever is Love Beauty & Planet, which also owns hundreds of other brands like Domestos, CIF, Knorr seasonings, Ketchup Baltimore, and Dove, Rexona, Bed Head, and my darling Tresseme.

Love Beauty & Planet occupies a niche slightly less budgetary, but environmentally friendly cosmetics with a bunch of aromas. The environmental position looks doubtful Even starting with the FAQ on their website, where they themselves ask questions like “And why do you use aerosols that are destructive to the environment?", And they answer something like" We hope to make the world better than our love, even if these are small steps, and the aerosol is just the most convenient for dry shampoos ". And you are so "Okay, but the question was different". Another brilliant discussion: "Parabens are harmful"? “This is not proven by science, but if you love this planet, choose something from our paraben-free products”.
However, if they really pay fairly for the cost of ingredients (obtained in poor countries) and use recycled plastic, as stated on the packaging, then it’s not bad.

I listed above fifteen shampoos and conditioners without sulfates from a single brand and price range. They are all ± the same, as one might anticipate.

All shampoos are made with a combination of Sodium Methyl Cocoyl Taurate (mild) and Cocamidopropyl Betaine (medium mildness). These are not some kind of premium ideal components, but the idea of "gentle cleansing" is justified. In all shampoos, salt (thickener) is in 4th place, and then everything else, which suggests that the difference between shampoos is primarily aromatic. Moreover, the price of natural essential oils is quite high, so if lavender oil is in fifth place, rest assured, there is still not much of it there. The rest is mainly preservatives, stabilizers and fragrances like Linalool and Geraniol. Have you ever smelled Lush? They also love these molecules. There are some differences – some shampoos do not contain polyquaterniums, different preservatives can be used, which is important for allergy sufferers, but functionally it looks like the same shampoo.

The same applies to conditioners: coconut oil, cetearyl alcohol, water, and betelmethin chloride. a modern hair balm’s most basic set.

Love Beauty&Planet in Russia

We don’t have all the lines (I’m writing about Russia specifically; I haven’t checked other countries), but what’s interesting is that the individual product compositions (!) and the lines themselves aren’t exactly the same as what is available in the USA.

  • coconut oil and ylang-ylang (sulfate-free shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, deodorant, toothpaste);

Shampoo coconut water and mimosa flower

Producer: Russia 400 ml costs 450 rubles, while 100 ml costs 150 rubles. Usually, there are sales and discounts, so I mainly paid 250–350 rubles for their full sizes.

Verdicts

Love, Beauty, Planet, Generosity, Volume Shampoo is designed especially for hair that is fine. It shines, volumizes, and cleanses hair gently. Allow your remarkable volume and fragrance to draw attention to you!

Make-Up

Acacia Decurrens Flower Extract, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Cocos Nucifera Liquid Endosperm, Citric acid, Disodium EDTA, Glycerin, Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride,Parfum, Aqua, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Sodium Chloride, Hexyl Cinnamal, Limonene, Linalool, Sodium Hydroxide, Tapioca Starch, PPG-9, Sodium Benzoate, and Potassium Sorbate.

Here, we’ve combined SLES with Cocamidopropyl Betaine, which is a typical and reasonably gentle combination. All things considered, this is one of my best choices because it leaves the hair feeling clean without completely removing everything. I like this combination of surfactants and would suggest it to people who dislike super-soft shampoos, but overall, I am gradually moving toward using relatively active sulfate-free shampoos. The inclusion of coconut oil in the composition seems to be intended to avoid tangling and drying.

I only happened upon this one picture by accident. I need to take them again, and I ran out of ladle. The entire photo shoot was lost, along with a beautiful photo shoot for As I Am JBCO. AAAAAA

First impressions This shampoo is clear and not overly runny. Has a pleasant scent of sweet coconut. Actively foams. The can’s large disc-top lid makes it very handy for shampoo. Holding the cans upside down on it is convenient and makes it easy to open. The shampoo flows out and is simple to measure. If it appears to be moving slowly, you can crush the soft plastic by squeezing the bottle’s barrel. It’s true that the label has creases, so this isn’t the most beautiful fix.

Applying the shampoo is difficult; I need to use roughly 20 milliliters for one wash. Although the shampoo is fairly clean and foams up even after the first wash, I wash my hair more than twice a week because I may not be washing it as frequently as I should. There’s a sense of cleanliness at the roots after that. The head then becomes unclean as usual. Whether the shampoo adds volume at the roots is hard to tell. Personally, I felt that the answer was no. However, the head appears clean, and this could be the reason for the increased volume.

But there’s nothing in the shampoo that would actually make it softer. In other words, it really does remove everything from the hair. I wouldn’t mind if it were shorter, but my bleached ends tangle horribly right away, making the entire thing feel very exposed and helpless. That is to say, even with the comparatively mild sulfate combination, this shampoo was just as good as Nivea for men or Shauma with hops, which is to say, shampoos I use to wash everything off—like when I used greasy leave-in shampoos or before coloring, for example.

These shampoos are obviously also necessary. I’ll use it again if needed because it seemed softer and more cost-effective than the listed analogs, but overall, I can’t suggest it for regular use on blondes or dry hair in general.

Shampoo Murumuru Butter and Rose Oil

Producer: Russia Cost: 400 ml for 450 rubles Usually, there are sales and discounts, so I mainly paid 250–350 rubles for their full sizes.

Verdicts:

Maintain the vibrancy of your colored hair. This shampoo adds a healthy shine and hydration to hair with its Amazonian Murumuru oil. Hand-picked rose petals from the Valley of Roses have a delightful, juicy, and fresh scent.

Composition

Aqua, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Sodium Methyl Cocoyl Taurate, Sodium Chloride, Rosa damascena Flower Extract, Carbomer, Citric Acid, Coconut Acid, Disodium EDTA, Glycerin, Glycol Distearate, Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride, Lactic acid, Laureth-4, Parfum, PPG-9, Sodium Benzoate, Sodium Hydroxide, Stearamidopropyl Dimethylamine, Tocopherol, Benzyl Salicylate, And Linalool.

I want to say right away, it doesn"t smell like roses! Well, I mean roses, but virtual ones. After all, all the flavors (oils or essences) extracted from roses cost as much as an airplane wing. I once extracted Turkish tea roses in alcohol, and got a completely monstrous rose liqueur for the weak-minded, it felt like you were drinking Chanel, but I couldn"t use it. It doesn"t last, the concentration is too low. So the shampoo most likely smells like geraniol in the perfume composition. Bright, defiant, straightforward, but I like it for once. I"m pumping all this into marketing, look at you, the aroma of nature.

For nearly two months, I washed my hair with these socks, but I only styled it roughly five times. This is the version that just has living.

Regarding the composition, it assures us of a sulfate that is decent—not too soft, but cleansing. Although I’m still not sure why shampoo contains oils, I’ll let them be. I mean, my own oils are on my head. That’s all; they didn’t even squeeze in glycerin. The remaining ingredients are fragrances, stabilizers, thickeners, and acidity regulators, all of which are required for the shampoo to function, flow out of the jar at the proper pace, and appeal to the nose and eyes.

First impressions: a brightly scented, pearlescent shampoo that almost seems pink. Simple to use. Similar to the previous shampoo, the jar’s texture matches exactly, making it convenient to hold upside down. You can also press on the barrel to accelerate the shampoo’s slow flow.

The first application foams unconvincingly, as if resisting, but it washes away the dirt, so that the second application you can see a very fluffy foam. My head doesn"t feel clean, for me, a person whose hair creaked after a wash, this causes neurosis, and I patiently waited for a month for the consequences of an "unwashed" head. Nothing happened, my head didn"t get dirty faster and overall it was quite comfortable. This is probably it, the condition of “washed, but not squeaky clean” hair.
So far this shampoo is my favorite in terms of softness/cleansing, along with Otium Estel Aqua, which I refused because of the silicones in its composition. It also suited my husband, his hair even began to stay fresh longer.
But the ends of the hair are still tangled into a cute magenta felt boot, the shampoo does not fight this in any way.

Conditioner Murumuru butter and rose oil

Producer: Russia Cost: 400 ml for 450 rubles Usually, there are sales and discounts, so I mainly paid 250–350 rubles for their full sizes.

Verdicts:

Do you want to know how to keep your curls looking opulent? For colored hair, murumuru butter-infused conditioner is truly a gift. It not only preserves the color, but also gives it vitality and brightness.

Ingredients

Aqua, Behentrimonium Chloride, Cetearyl Alcohol, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Astrocaryum Murumuru Seed Butter, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Rosa Damascena Flower Extract, 1,2-Hexanediol, Acrylates/Beheneth-25 Methacrylate Copolymer, Benzyl Alcohol, Disodium EDTA, Isopropyl Alcohol, Lactic Acid, Parfum, Sodium Hydroxide, Tocopherol, Benzyl Salicylate, Linalool.

For me, the most important thing is that the conditioner is silicone-free and appropriate for CGM.

The promise of color preservation is immediately contradicted by the composition’s high concentration of coconut oil, as oils tend to be removed from masks and conditioners. But anthocyanin is totally unimportant to me because it fades nicely and lasts a long time; even oil masks can’t lighten my skin tone. For those who color their hair and rely on color protection, however, bear in mind that additional ingredients are required.

In general, coconut oil, as well as a couple of cetearyl alcohol (fatty) and behetremonium (a cation that ensures the attachment of alcohol to the hair) provide that very conditioning effect. Other oils themselves are also nothing special, but in fact, the long-term benefits of oils are revealed in leave-in products, so first of all, this conditioner simply makes hair smoother. In a few minutes on the hair, behentrimonium helps lipids stick to the damaged parts of the cuticle and untangle the hair. In fact, most conditioners have exactly this pair in their composition, even the active ingredient for conditioners is sold in double quantities.
It is interesting that Tresemme Botanical Detox is cheaper, and the composition is not so standard: it contains aloe juice and other softeners.

Impressions
The conditioner is white, of medium thickness, quite typical for conditioners, and smells of pseudo-roses, just like the shampoo. In general, I use them with pleasure when I want to smell like roses: the smell remains on my hair, if you don’t interrupt it with something terrible by Kaaral.
It is poured into the same jar, which is incredibly annoying. Unlike the shampoo, the conditioner is not runny, so the jar needs to be shaken, squeezed and subjected to other tortures to squeeze out the conditioner.
Personally, it takes a lot on my hair. Despite the fact that I honestly grab water, squeeze and comb with a detangler or other combs, you have to add products. I need about 40 ml to finally untangle everything, t.e. the jar is enough for 10 times. This is not fundamentally more than other balms on average, but I would definitely not classify it as economical.
It works quite quickly, algae hair. To be fair, while I comb my hair, 20 minutes will still pass, for me this is the longest stage in washing my hair, but on my husband"s straight hair it copes quickly. In general, in my opinion, this is an analogue of the famous Tresemme Botanical Detox. For example, suddenly you are tired of smelling like coconut.

Using Livin for Styling Feeling peckish Foam, custard, and leshy. Possibly excessively.

But neither in the short nor long term does the balm work any miracles. Maybe if you alternate it with masks and leave-in products occasionally, healthy, undamaged hair could get by without it, but I can’t even manage to use Livin after this balm. However, as with everyone with curly hair, I actively use leave-in products—sometimes using multiple layers—and their primary purpose is to maintain my hair. Thus, I have low expectations for the balm.

Cleansing conditioner for hair shea butter and sandalwood

Producer: Russia Cost: 400 ml for 800 rubles Since I paid 100 rubles for it, I now believe that they may have been clearing out their remaining inventory. The price has increased from 380 rubles to 800 rubles in just six months, and it is nearly impossible to find. There must be a problem with the supplies. I advise against purchasing for more than 400 rubles.

Verdicts:

Experience the invigorating kiss of nature! Happiness and Moisturizing Shampoo and Conditioner adoration Beauty and Planet is made for hair that dries out quickly. It gives dry hair a moisture boost while also gently cleaning away oil and debris. Happiness cleansing conditioner and shea butter moisturizing shields hair from harsh conditions and drier air while maintaining its suppleness, elasticity, and moisture content. Because we value both the environment and beauty, we use natural, organic ingredients derived from renewable resources to make our cosmetics.

Composition

Cupressus sempervirens leaf/nut/stem oil, Fusanus Spicatus wood oil, Vetiveria zizanoides root oil, aqua, cetearyl alcohol, behentrimonium chloride, cocos nucifera (coconut) oil, butyrospermum parkii (shea) butter, 1,2-hexanediol, acrylates/beheneth-25 methacrylate copolymer, benzyl alcohol, disodium EDTA, isopropyl alcohol, lactic acid, parfum, sodium hydroxide, and coumarin.

It appears to be a typical conditioner in terms of composition. Furthermore, these are generally not very appropriate for kovosh due to the cationic surfactant (behetremonium) in their composition, which aids in the adhesion of fats to hair. Usually, the scalp does not require this. Nothing terrible will happen immediately, but eventually the head will probably start to get dirty more quickly, and some people may find it irritating.

Additionally, the composition does not contain any additional cleansing surfactants (as in the Deva kovosh). Put simply, it appears that kovosh can be achieved with any silicone-free conditioner just as easily.

Impressions
The conditioner seems to be lighter and more transparent than, for example, with murumuru, but the texture is similar, it is also difficult to get out of the jar. It smells like sweet nuts, candy-perfumery, I liked it overall. The consumption is quite large: the instructions on the jar suggest distributing the conditioner along the roots and length of the hair, massaging and two hours later rinsing off. And, they say, that"s it, your head is clean and your hair is untangled. This magic doesn"t work for me, to wash your head with one wash of kovosh, so first you rub it into your hair for a long time and tediously, and then rinse it off for the same amount of time. Repeat.
I must say that the hair at the roots felt really well conditioned, that is, soft and light, but in the long term the same problem as with all other kovoshes, the head starts to get dirty faster. So I combine kovosh with washing shampoos. During use, I got a couple of pimples under my hair, which usually doesn"t happen. I can"t recommend this conditioner as kovosh, you can just as well kovosh with any silicone-free balm. The only plus here is the lighter texture, but there were no additional special effects like foam and detangling of my bleached hair, as from specialized kovoshes.

Advantages Disadvantages
Affordable price Not all ingredients are natural
Nice fragrance Some may find the scent too strong
Eco-friendly packaging Packaging can still feel flimsy
Leaves hair soft and shiny May not work for all hair types
