- My Life with Unique Hair That I Will Never Be Able to Cut
Haircut
When it comes to bad hair, the most frequent disagreement is whether growing hair is worth it at all. There are two groups of girls. Some people believe that having a short hairstyle throughout your life is preferable to having three depressing icicles. Conversely, some people think that a short haircut will be agony, while long hair can at least be hidden, styled, or braided. How do I put it? The most crucial aspect is that hair should appear well-groomed and tidy. And regardless of its duration, you ought to enjoy it. This is not the best idea if all of your attempts to cut your hair above the shoulders result in Ivanushka.
Enjoy your short hair if you have found your master, your shape, your color, and especially if all of this does not require daily styling (this is possible with a good hairdresser who will befriend your natural hair growth direction). Everyone does not need to wear long. For us, another benefit of a haircut is that it is updated frequently, meaning that anything that would eventually split and break off along the length is removed. You can, however, indulge in a few experiments; further details are provided below.
It was amazing and very comfy that I went with a short bob and bob-bob. However, every time I go a few months without getting a haircut, I start to dream longer. What if things work out this time? Once more, I continue to grow.
It is worth making a separate point to trim the ends. If hair splits more quickly than it grows, what should you do? Cut, but do so prudently. and give the ends careful attention. An even cut appears tidy and visually adds thickness. Furthermore, hair can occasionally break off unevenly; for instance, the left side may grow longer than the right. Furthermore, this is by no means decorative. You must make a cut! Naturally, this isn’t the case every month, but rather as the condition gets closer to being critical. If not, you can continue to be bald.
How can I look well in between hair cuts? Make it a habit to trim your hair in bundles or strand by strand, checking each one as you go to remove any split ends. For someone with unattractive hair, good hairdressing scissors are typically a significant and essential investment. Alternatively, you could visit a friend who works as a hairdresser and have them cut your hair into bundles while you sip tea. The less often you have to break down in tears over "I only asked to trim it by two centimeters," the more frequently and carefully you cut individual hairs.
Dyeing
This is where the original length matters a lot. You can experiment by dying your hair with chemical dyes, bleaching it, lightening it, or anything else you want to do if you have a short hairstyle or want to change how you look and are prepared to part with the length in the future. Of course, taking care of things is important. Both the hairstyle and the haircut have been updated. However, given the length, this trick will not work. I used Tonika, herbs, professional dyes at home and in the salon, and a pack of supermarket dye to color my hair. Therefore, ANY loss of quality is extremely noticeable on thin and sparse hair!
And there’s almost always going to be quality loss with continuous coloring. Frequent chemical coloring weakens already fragile hair. mine, at any rate. Dryness eventually results from tonic. However, I haven’t observed any specific disaster resulting from a single coloring session. Generally speaking, you can quickly get discouraged if you adopt the mentality that "my hair is already bad, I will wash it only with organics and melt water collected by virgins at dawn." Changes are necessary for everyone. They make me happy. And trembling over every millimeter — tense and often pointless — does not bring.
When it comes to colors, light hues provide visual volume, while dark hues add shine and a more put-together appearance. When coloring, using multiple shades adds even more visual volume. However, this is a lightning-fast story. I have an intense passion for the color red, and I generally view various vibrant colors with positivity. However, we have to be honest: even opulent hair that has been dyed vibrant colors requires pricey, meticulous maintenance to appear alive and well. Having blue curls of Malvina is one thing, but blue icicles that droop are quite another. Therefore, having stylish short hair or having good hair are prerequisites for creativity.
Additionally. Getting professional care is essential if you continue to use chemical dyes. Volumeless, thin hair is intolerant of silicones and heavy oils. However, if this hair has had a perm or dye job, SILICONES ARE ABSOLUTELY NEEDED. additionally to oils, conditioners, and masks. Allowing them to be healthier is preferable to having more volume.
I’ve been using herbs to dye my hair for the past few years, and occasionally I add tonic to make the henna color more vibrant. Of course, some people are not suited for herbal remedies. But if you were to ask me which of all the things I have tried over the years that has helped my hair the most, I would say that henna and daily washing! This website has extensive articles about herbal dyes written by many talented writers.
Henna, in short, does, in fact, thicken hair. It truly dries it out, which is excellent in my opinion. Compared to dyes, it gives the shades more depth and volume. It increases luster. Additionally, it forms a protective film that guards against summertime fading and drying out. This is my hair that has been dyed at various times using both pure henna and mixtures of henna and basma. I almost never get compliments on my hair, but I do get asked all the time what color I use. What a diversion)
By the way, this is nearly my longest length. And my all-time favorite hair clip, which flattened the ponytail but gave it an extremely thick appearance. Basma and Henna.
False strands and pure henna for a picture shoot.
Make the switch from blended to pure henna. For luminosity, Tonika. You can see the state of the hair, but the brightness didn’t work out. These are also the leftover permanents.
More henna.
All sorts of "harmful" procedures
Perm
Horrible, terrifying, painful, and flaming perm! I had two permanents done. And twice, I was ecstatic. There are, of course, repercussions. They take six to eight months to manifest; during that time, they appear as split and dry ends. Every month and a half, I trim off about 2 cm of hair to avoid cutting it short and abruptly. The curls get softer and retain their form for a longer time. Furthermore, giving up two cm is morally simpler than giving up ten. However, what volume!
Just joyful months devoid of difficulties selecting and styling one’s hair, with less oiliness and the delight of gazing at oneself in the mirror… Perm requires different care, as I mentioned above. For instance, I observed that my oil-sensitive hair actually "drinks" the stuff. However, this is a subject deserving of its own post. Here are a few pictures as well. Maybe you should get a perm if you enjoy curls.
Right after the surgery. There’s lots and lots of styling.
Brushed. I was chasing volume instead of springs.
And the fifth month has already passed. The volume is still present. Combed hair looks like this, and when it’s styled, the curls take on a slight chewiness, almost like they were overnight braids.
Generally speaking, this is a good option for thin, sparse hair if you don’t overdo the curling and take care of the length with oils, masks, and leave-in products. If I still can’t seem to work it out, I even have a plan to do permanent hair replacements every few years, gradually removing and replacing any damaged tissue.
Another interesting procedure is extensions
You’ve considered it at least once, admit it. Oh, the joy of having long, real hair on your own head! This approach has benefits and drawbacks. The main advantages are visual. Yes, it’s true that I didn’t realize I had the longest hair until I took the extensions out. Because I just let them grow peacefully and forgot about them. However, these are the drawbacks. First, the expensive price. The second issue is the continuous commotion to hide the capsules, hairpins, and ribbons.
And of course, a purely psychological moment. After a voluminous head of hair extensions, you simply cannot look at your own without tears. It is very difficult. But the main problem is that thin hair simply cannot withstand the additional weight. I wore extensions on capsules for a year and a half, and after a year break, I used clip-in tresses for another year and a half. And why did I have to give them up? Because of the growing bald spots where the clips were attached. At first, I tried to re-sew them, but then I realized: what am I doing? I will go bald this way! And I sold the tresses. And over time, several hairpieces that I sometimes used.
However, I have made the decision to love who I truly am. Try extensions if you’d like; you’ll receive a plethora of positive feelings and lovely pictures to treasure. However, you shouldn’t think of it as a means of escape the circumstance. You will eventually have to make a decision. It will also be challenging.
Pin-ups.
Living hairless can have a profound impact on how you see yourself and are perceived by others. Losing hair can be difficult, but it also opens up new ideas about beauty and self-acceptance, whether from genetics, medical issues, or personal preference. Accepting this shift enables people to redefine who they are beyond their outward look, emphasizing their inner fortitude, self-assurance, and uniqueness.
Combing and washing
Probably there is no point in repeating that the length is not rubbed with shampoo until it squeaks, not combed wet, not combed with cheap electrifying plastic… There are many articles on this subject here. What is important specifically for oily, thin hair? Wash as it gets dirty. Even if it is every day. A freshly washed rat tail just looks like not very good hair, a dirty rat tail looks like "look how much I don"t care about myself". And styling won"t save it. For a long time I convinced myself that every day is too much. And here is what happened on the morning of the second day. Especially the bangs, ooo..
Yes, beauty? Hair appears incredibly silky, smooth, and… As nailed, so it holds—thanks to masks and balms. If the hair is not colored or receiving herbal care, it is preferable to use light compositions and shorten the holding time; on colored and damaged hair, take extra care to ensure that masks, oils, etc. only reach the ends. My hair has low porosity; I forgot to mention that. It shines, never tangles, and feels cool to the touch. I’m at least fortunate in some manner!
However, in terms of combing… Split ends are increased by combing. You’ll be able to appreciate your hair’s appearance for longer if you don’t touch it with your hands or a comb. However! After washing, I can wear my hair loose for an hour inside or outside in dry, windless conditions. After that, it separates into strands, gets sleek, and shows through.
That lovely moment when your ears protrude through disheveled hair is known to you. It’s just not possible to leave it uncombed. How can we end this destructive cycle? I’m not sure. It starts to lose its pretty appearance, so I just comb it. The objective is to lift and fluff the hair rather than untangle it (which can be easily tidied up with your fingers).
Challenges | Solutions |
Dealing with hair loss | Embrace wigs or headscarves |
Low confidence | Focus on inner beauty and self-esteem |
Cold or sun exposure | Use hats or sunblock |
Social pressure | Surround yourself with supportive people |
Feeling less feminine/masculine | Experiment with makeup, style, or accessories |
Although going hairless can be difficult, it doesn’t define who you are. Many people learn to live with their hair loss and find ways to be comfortable with who they are. The important thing is to figure out what gives you a sense of empowerment and comfort, whether that’s shaving your head, wearing wigs, or going bald.
It’s also critical to keep in mind that hair is not a gauge of attractiveness or value. What really counts are your character, kindness, and inner strength. It can be beneficial to change the conversation from what you’ve lost to what you have to offer by confidently embracing your unique journey.
There is support available from friends, family, support groups, and communities that have gone through similar things. You can survive without hair if you give it some time and effort. You are not alone.
