About the choice of dye
Every brand’s line features the color red, and the range of red pigments is quite diverse. Options to suit every budget and taste. I found that this comparison post was a great help at first.
In the two years I had red hair, I experimented with a lot of different colors. Nearly all of them have been mentioned in my posts, and who knows, maybe one day I’ll even create my own top.
I am very particular about the color, though; I like scarlet red over raspberry or pink tones. Furthermore, not every dye can give me the shade I want. Naturally, I don’t go for a wash if I don’t succeed. I will not repurchase it even after I finish the jar.
Moreover, I had previously lightened my henna-dyed hair with powder. When dying hair, one must consider that the henna red tint has not completely disappeared from the lighter hair.
I’m not sure how long a shade lasts or if a particular pigment "gets stuck" or is totally washed out. As soon as the color starts to fade, I try to tone my hair. I constantly use pigments to fill in any "empty" areas in my hair.
What I pay attention to when buying?
- Durability. The tinting procedure is quite easily soiled and time-consuming, so I would like the color to remain bright as long as possible. It happens that the shade remains forever and does not go away even after powder, like Concept. Or it may be that after 2 washes the color washes off without a trace, like Vip"s Prestige.
- Shade. Even if the dye is very durable, convenient and pleasant to use, I will not repeat it if the final shade on my hair does not match the desired one. Alas, many pigments are guilty of going pink or raspberry. I was so disappointed by the very good Iroiro and Badgirl.
- Care qualities. I understand that tint balms have a different task, but at least let them not harm. Like, for example, Tonika, which dries out a lot.
- Saturation. "Overlap". I want the color to lay down thickly, brightly and saturatedly, pastel options are not for me.
- The ability to "dilute" the dye with a care mask without losing brightness. To save time on hair care, I like to combine toning with care procedures, because hair damaged by coloring requires more attention. Favorite – Qtem Alchemist drops.
- Texture, ease of use. Thick ones are harder to distribute, liquid ones flow and stain. Although I always dye with gloves, and have gotten used to doing everything quickly and carefully, there is always a risk of dripping somewhere. It is desirable that stains can be easily wiped off, and not like the practically impossible Estel XTRO.
- Price, consumption, economy, availability. Right now Nexxt from the nearest store for 300 or ManicPanic for 2000 + delivery from the online store + long wait for delivery? Both are a jar for one coloring. Red Nexxt turned out to be too pink for me, and also poorly pigmented. And ManicPanic is still on the wish list precisely for the reasons stated above. While there are more affordable options, I will try them.
Direct pigment balm Estel "Bright"
I’ve used Estel XTRO Red pigment in the past. To put it briefly, I wasn’t a huge fan because it’s too hard on hair and gets dirty easily. It is extremely difficult to remove from plumbing and cannot be washed off with anything if you miss and get it on your skin. Even so, the shade is highly resilient and produces a stunning scarlet red.
I was excited to try the new shade of red on myself as soon as I heard about the new product Estel "Bright." Estel’s red was, after all, really red.
Information from the manufacturer
Bright colors of life – Estel Bright! The hair gets quickly saturated with a disorienting color as pigment molecules fill it in. A flexible formula containing flavonoids and fruit acids fits your hair’s unique structure perfectly, leaving it glossy and looking lit from the inside out.
Instructions for use
Preparation. First, put on gloves, they are there, in the box. Then apply the conditioner to clean hair. If you want, you can apply the conditioner to each strand immediately from the bottle, or you can first pour the conditioner from the bottle into a bowl and apply it to your hair with a brush. Leave the conditioner on your hair for 10-30 minutes. Rinse with cool water, without using shampoo. That"s it – enjoy the color! For maximum brightness and durability, we recommend pre-lightening your hair. Oh, yes! If you want to get a less intense shade, you can mix Estel Yarko conditioner with regular conditioner or hair mask. You can also mix Estel Yarko shades with each other to get a new color.
The "Yarko" palette consists of seven shades in total. Every color has a catchy motto of its own.
Packaging
150 milliliters for ± 500 rubles.
My expectations were not met by the marketplace delivery; although the conditioner arrived quickly, its packaging was incredibly creased.
Aside from the alluring claims, the cardboard box has a wealth of helpful information. regarding the ingredients, application technique, and graphic representations of the colored hair on various hair types.
Two pairs of gloves, a bottle of conditioner, and instructions that replicate the details found on the cardboard box are enclosed.
Thank you so much for the gloves! I had never seen the manufacturer take such care of their customers, placing gloves inside the tint balm packaging.
The bottle itself has a vivid label and is constructed of black plastic. The name of the inscription, which is bright red in my case, is the same as the dye’s actual color. It has an appealing and catchy appearance. Yes, extremely intelligent.
The label is of excellent quality; it doesn’t rise or spread when wet hands touch it. Despite being smooth, the bottle is easy to hold and stays put in wet hands because of its small size.
The bottle’s cap is an extended, long dispenser spout. A tiny screw cap keeps the spout closed, but it can be removed completely if preferred.
My hair has grown out significantly since I used the airtouch technique to dye it. I only tone the approximately two thirds of my hair that have been bleached. I find that this dispenser is very convenient because I prefer to apply the dye directly to my hair.
Texture, aroma
Not a bright, chemical-cosmetic aroma. evokes connections to recent fixes. Nice and even. doesn’t stick to the hair.
Rich, blood-red color. It turns orange on the swatch.
Apply texture gel. fluid but does not disperse. incredibly soft and enjoyable to use.

Application
The tagline for my red shade is:
Bold colors of life!
Alright, let us investigate the case.
I placed the bottle on the barrel before using it. The product flows while in my head and then removes with ease and simplicity with a single press. The balm flows out very easily because of its thin, fluid gel texture; unlike thicker Bad Girl, you don’t need to shake the bottle or use force to get it out.
Whenever I dye, I wear gloves. On the other hand, if the balm gets on skin, it is simple to remove with soap and doesn’t leave any stains on pipes.
Method 1. Directly on the hair
It’s very easy to use, as I’ve already indicated; I just apply the product straight from the bottle to damp, washed hair. I apply it with my hands, using my fingers to massage the dye into the strands. similar to how I would if I were wearing a care mask. For a more uniform application, you can use a comb, but personally, I find the balm applies nicely without causing additional damage to the hair.
I pin it with a crab, twist it into a tourniquet, and leave it on for as long as possible—30 minutes—for a more saturated color. After that, I rinse it off without using shampoo and apply a cream and oil sandwich for leave-in care. I use a hair dryer to dry it.
Method 2. Mixing with a care mask
I also tried another application technique that my hair usually prefers.
In a bowl, I combine the pigment and the care mask 1:1. I used the Qtem Magic Korean Clinical Treatment Mask, which is nourishing and restorative. The color came out just as vivid and rich as if paint had been applied straight from the can.
Usually, I combine hair care and toning by mixing the dye and mask together. For colored hair, one tint frequently isn’t enough, and if you use a separate mask and paint in one wash, it ends up taking a long time.
However, these complications are avoidable with the "Yarko" balm. Hair won’t be harmed.
It can be difficult to keep red hair vibrant, even though it makes a bold statement. But it’s much simpler to keep your red hair rich and radiant when you use Estel’s "Bright" tint balm.
