Kaaral Hydra Moisturizing Mask
A legend is the mask. It is adored or despised. However, nobody has never heard of it. Winter is here and the air is getting drier; the time has come.
The first professional mask I handled was Kaaral Hydra. She was the one who provided the catalyst for realizing what hair needed. It’s all the best moisturizing! I can’t develop a care routine without it, and I’m already tired of it. I have used up more than one jar and will gladly go back to it again and again.
I’ll tell you a little about this mask even though many of you have used it yourself.
Description
500 ml costs 800-1200 rubles. incredibly affordable for the volume.
Packaging design: simple and understated, in the instantly recognizable Kaaral style. jar in blue. The inscriptions are made of robust, dense plastic that doesn’t fade or blur. All the required information is available for use.
There is a protective membrane film underneath the lid, and it is difficult to remove.
It has a yellowish color, an odd yet lingering scent, and a creamy but not overly thick texture. Economical consumption, easily applied to the hair.

The hair is actively nourished and its structure is restored by the mask. keeps hair hydrated and gives it a silky, smooth texture. Hair gets healthier and more elastic.

.. I was able to assist the residents of Koto when I took pictures of the fasting mask. He made a valiant effort to:
The aroma
Kaaral Hydra is someone you either love or hate. One of the reasons you might not like the mask is its peculiar smell.
I had heard so much about this "stinker" before I even bought it! I opened the first jar curiously and impatiently to finally smell it and discover what it smells like!?
I think the mask smells okay. It smells strongly and sharply of chemical almonds in the jar, but when applied to hair, it kind of tastes like carrots or wet dog parsley. The mask eventually evaporates, leaving behind a jar that smells less sharp and more pleasant.
The scent of carrot tops and wet rag almonds on hair lasts a long time, is essentially unaffected by other products, and can even trail. As early as the second or third day following hair washing, it is clearly visible.
The mask’s scent is frequently likened to that of Kaaral Restructure ampoules. No, ampoules leave a stronger, more lingering scent of this very top in the hair. And if there were no complaints following the mask, my spouse would constantly react negatively to the ampoules, asking, "What do I stink of?"
Reviews of the scent are mixed; some people think it’s amazing, some are calm like me, and some find it repulsive. You shouldn’t torture yourself if the aroma didn’t work out; there are other moisturizing masks available.
How the hair looks
Another reason for the Kaaral Hydra mask’s lack of popularity is that it doesn’t result in visually appealing hair.
When the mask is rinsed off, hair appears "seaweed"—nourished, thick, and silky. It also manages to detangle hair. The hair is incredibly light, smooth, and cool after drying. So light that all the protruding hairs stand out, and erratic antennas have a tendency to separate from the overall clump of curls. Hair becomes a fluffy, light cloud.
The hair is as delightful to the touch as it can be unattractive in appearance. But not everyone appreciates childlike softness and ease of hair.
You run the risk of becoming overly hydrated if you apply too much at once.
You might be wondering right now why I adore Kaaral Hydra so much if it doesn’t make my hair look gorgeous. In theory, everything is for this, after all!
Kaaral Hydra is the only mask that solely hydrates hair. Above all, deep, and palpable. And it always does a great job.
Knowing this, you can mix and match care. and simultaneously receive beautiful visuals and superior hydration.
Using Kaaral Hydra in conjunction with other products helps me achieve a gorgeous hairstyle.
The scales on the hair open up during washing. By drawing water to the hair, the mask helps hydrate the cuticles of the hair deeply. However, the desired moisture can easily evaporate from the hair during drying. In order to prevent moisture evaporation, the hair scales must be smoothed, covered, and a protective film created on their surface. One way to accomplish this would be to use a conditioner after the mask.
But it’s not really that easy. Some conditioners can noticeably weigh down and over-nourish thin hair, and not all conditioners can handle frizz.
From being misinterpreted to being the go-to product for intense hydration and gorgeous hair looks, Kaaral Hydra has transformed. This post discusses simple techniques and useful advice for having sleek, healthy-looking hair, as well as a variety of moisturizing products that can significantly improve your hair care regimen.
Schemes with conditioner
Scheme 1. TRESemmé Botanique Detox
Possibly the most well-liked and cost-effective plan. Despite being marketed as a moisturizing conditioner, it is actually quite nourishing. includes coconut oil, which forms the required protective layer. Additionally, it smoothes and weighs down the hair, notably reducing frizz.
Plan devoid of silicones. provides a lovely appearance without weighing down the hair. Slight frizz can still exist, though. It should be noted that I primarily used this scheme on hennaed hair; damaged colored hair is not a good fit for it.
Scheme 2. Kaaral X-real Nourishing Reconstructor
The conditioner’s wheat proteins help to rebuild the structure of the hair, and silicones form a film that traps moisture. Additionally, the scheme doesn’t burden the hair; it stays light, smooth, and crumbly.
Schemes with masks
Don’t hesitate to use moisturizer.
When my masks start to perform poorly, I almost always find that this method helps.
If you want to soften the hard dense ends after restorative products, if on the second day after such masks the ends are dry, crunchy and you do not like it – just add water Kaaral Hydra.
I run a small amount of Kaaral Hydra down the length of my hair or to the ends. Next, another mask is applied on top without being removed. I wash off after holding for the required amount of time—usually no more than ten minutes.
With this type of multimasking, you can achieve friability and compaction while maintaining the softness and elasticity of the hair ends. Not at all dry!
Scheme 3. Joanna Cannabis Seed
I was impressed by this incredible scheme!
In addition to being naturally delicate and thin, my hair has lightened. I occasionally want my hair to be straight and flawless. Furthermore, they don’t remain that way for very long; a small wave will eventually emerge at shoulder level or if you place a strand behind your ear. Hairpins and braids cause creases in them easily.
This is typical. My thin hair is something I’m used to, and it actually works really well for my favorite cold style because it keeps its shape until the next wash.
That"s why I was pleasantly surprised by the result obtained from the scheme with the Joanna Cannabis Seed mask.
I used it as follows: after washing and towel-drying my hair, apply Kaaral Hydra. Next, add Joanna Cannabis Seed on top without rinsing. Roll into a low bun, tie with a crab, and set aside for 15 to 20 minutes. Warm it up if you’d like, and then you can shorten the holding period.
As a result, the hair is silky smooth and has soft, elastic ends after receiving deep conditioning and nourishment. Perfectly straight, smooth, shiny, slippery hair without a single loose hair.
It was quite difficult to gather into a braid because it was so crumbly and slippery, and fortunately for my hair, it fell apart almost instantly! Not a single wave, not a single wrinkle. An interesting plan for the situation where you require loose hair "for going out."
Not every day because the mask can quickly over-nourish the hair and weigh it down due to its high level of nourishment. Furthermore, overuse of silicones will be detrimental to the hair.
After just one to two minutes of exposure, it functions as a mildly nourishing conditioner.
Scheme 4. Kaaral Purify Filler
I have previously discussed my taming experience with this mask.
The scheme imparts stickiness and elasticity to the hair. They take on a pleasing density and weight, as well as friability. Hydra helps to soften the effects of filler, making the hair dense without being rigid. This plan for strengthening and repairing hair is fantastic. Nothing protrudes—perfect. Since Kaaral Filler contains keratin, it is not a frequent use scheme.
Scheme 5. L"Oreal Absolut Repair
The mask works well by itself. However, after a few consecutive uses, the ends frequently lose all of their moisture, and on the second day, they start to crunch and prick.
I focus on the ends of my hair when applying Kaaral Hydra to the lower third of my hair. L"Oreal Absolut Repair on top, without rinsing. I use it for five to ten minutes.
The fantastic Kaaral Hydra + L’Oreal Absolut Repair scheme gives hair everything it needs to look and feel good—it nourishes, reconstructs, and hydrates, revitalizing the ends. Numerous film formers in the mask work to precisely smooth out frizz and lock moisture inside. The end product is smooth, elastic, extremely shiny hair that is also soft and slightly heavy. The plan is appropriate for regular use.
Little tricks
I use Qtem cream spray and oil, usually Kerastase Ultime or Salerm Arganology; I do not include leave-in products in my schemes.
- On damp – cream
- On slightly dry – oil
- Then I dry it with a hairdryer on cool air
- I don"t apply anything to dry ones.
I’ve been liking a different scheme lately. I believe that the following application order for leave-in conditioners is more effective when there is low humidity:
- On damp hair – oil
- On slightly dry hair – creamy thermal protection
- Then I finish drying with a hairdryer, hot air.
- I don"t apply anything to dry hair.
I had multiple samples of Kerastase thermal protection, and I truly enjoyed its effects. The L’Oreal Blow-dry Fluidifier I’m using right now turned out to be pretty erratic.
You can use stronger leave-in conditioners in schemes with lighter conditioners to better smooth out the frizz. Saturated leave-in conditioners should not be overused in mask schemes, though.
For instance, in one of the combinations, Kerastase Resistance thermal protection overnourished my hair and ended up being the one that broke everything. I had strands that clumped into icicles that were dull, heavy, and overnourished instead of the usual friability and smoothness.
My moisturizing routines are all predicated on the notion that hair needs to be kept hydrated and deeply moisturized.
Helpers include film formers that form a film on the hair’s surface to trap moisture inside and conditioning additives that smooth hair scales, oils, and/or silicones. They also give the hair more body and help manage frizz.
You can quickly select your unique schemes for your hair’s needs by doing this.
Balance in care
I don’t often use Kaaral Hydra repeatedly, and I always remember to maintain the proper balance of care. In my care, there are more intricate masks that prioritize nutrition and restoration. Some of them also contain a small amount of moisturizing, just enough to ensure that the other ingredients function flawlessly for nourishment and restoration. The heating moisture from these masks is insufficient during the dry season.
My alternation scheme typically looks like this:
- 1 wash: Kaaral Hydra mask + conditioner (Angel Spa, Kaaral X-real, Kaaral Volume)
- 2nd and 3rd washing: complex mask (Kaaral Filler, Qtem, Redken Extreme, L"Oreal Absolut Repair)
- 4 wash: again Kaaral Hydra mask + conditioner (Angel, Kaaral X-real, Kaaral Volume)
- And so on in a circle.
Since I like to experiment and try new things, the scheme is actually very approximate. I have many open masks, and I switch between my favorites and my least favorites, but it’s time to close them all out. But I pay attention to the needs of the hair first.
- In the dry season (winter and hot summer) I use Kaaral Hydra more often.
- In the current humid summer, I completely abandoned additional moisturizing, using complex masks with an emphasis on restoration and nutrition.
Deep conditioning
I don’t rinse the mask from my hair right away. I emulsify the product on the hair by gradually adding more water. After squeezing for a few minutes, I use a stream of water to rinse the remaining product. a co-washing technique adapted from the "basin method" for curly hair. In this manner, the mask’s full benefits seep deeper into the hair and the hair is better hydrated.
- I try to avoid getting the product on my scalp when rinsing.
- I massage and knead my hair not from the bottom up – this is how curls are formed, but I grab a strand from the side.
- You can rinse the mask completely or leave some of the product on your hair, thus varying the final effect.
Hairdryer
Another great tip for hiding frizz after moisturizing treatments is to use a hairdryer to style and dry your hair. Using a comb, we give the strands the desired shape by stretching and smoothing them. Thermal protection is definitely necessary; try Kérastase Nectar Thermique.
Cold styling
If applying makeup to deal with frizz after Hydra isn’t working for you, cold styling can help. Any style will work, including braids, buns, curlers and papillotes, socks, and a belt from a robe. It’s most convenient to collect slightly damp and leave it until it dries completely at night.
With this technique, I can achieve flawless, glossy curls. This technique helps to smooth out the hair that sticks out, even if the waves are short-lived. Style is not required.
Is there an alternative
Of course, there are other moisturizing masks besides Kaaral Hydra. It is distinct in that it never requires supplements and only offers moisturizing benefits.
However, there are also sophisticated moisturizing masks that don’t require complicated planning or tambourine dancing, and they’re quicker and simpler to use.
I experimented with a lot of hair moisturizing products. Complex masks are typically either extremely expensive or inadequately moisturizing.
Complex masks

170 ml costs 200–400 rubles.
Wonderful balm for modestly undamaged hair. Proper training, some nourishment, and adequate hydration. Pretty good visuals. It cannot, however, deeply moisturize extremely dry hair.
- Dr.Sante Coconut Hair Extra moisturizing
Composition
Aqua, Myristyl Alcohol, Cetearyl Alcohol, Cetrimonium Chloride, Amodimethicone, Dimethicone, Vitex, Lactic Acid, Arginine HCL, Serine, Threonine, Trideceth-10, Polyquaternium 37, Benzyl Alcohol, Sodium Benzoate, Phenoxyethanol, Linalool, and Cocos Nucifera Oil are among the ingredients.
300–500 rubles is the price.
Silicone teether scented like coconut. Nothing was done to my hair.
- Hask cactus water
Composition
Aqua/Water/Eau, Stem water from Opuntia ficus-indica (cactus), PPG-5-Ceteth-20, Polyquaternium-37, Seed oil from Opuntia ficus-indica (prickly pear), glycerin, caprylyl glycol, ethylhexylglycerin, cetrimonium chloride, amoditethicone, Hexylene glycol,Disodium EDTA, Trideceth-12, Chlorphenesin, Butylene glycol, Sorbitol potassium, acid acetic, Laureth-9, Phenoxyethanol, C11-15 pareth-7, sodium hydroxide, pentasodium pentetate, sodium benzoate, acidic citric, fragrance/parfum, hexyl cinnamon, Linalool
Price range for 50 ml: 280–400 rubles.
The mask has a clear gel texture and a delicious, new fruity scent. The cactus mask has an extremely similar effect to Hydra in that it leaves your hair fluffy and soft.
- Hask Orchid And White Truffle Mask
Composition
Aqua, Water, Eau Alcohol cetearyl, Lanolin, Quaternium-18, Cetrimonium chloride, Orchis mascula (orchid) extract, extract from Tuber aestivum, or white truffle, the pea protein hydrolyzed, Phenoxyethanol, Tetrasodium EDTA, Butylene glycol, Citric acid, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Isopropyl Palmitate, DMDM Hydantoin, Glycerin, Panthenol, and Benzyl alcohol, sodium benzoate, ethylhexylglycerin, and sodium hydroxide Sorbitol potassium, Parfum, or fragrance Benzyl alcohol
50 ml costs 250–380 rubles.
The texture is thick and creamy, and the aroma is pleasant, cosmetic, and sweet-ish-confectionery. The orchid mask leaves hair perfectly nourished, moisturized, smoothed, and whipped. It still contains more nutrients than water, though.
One drawback of both Hask masks is their awkward sachet packaging, which makes it challenging to take off the mask with wet hands. Furthermore, keeping an opened bag can present challenges. Even though the price seems low, the sachet only holds 50 milliliters, so even though the mask is sufficient for multiple uses, it is still quite expensive per milliliter.
- Garnier Fructis Superfood Aloe
Composition
AQUA / WATER, CETEARYL ALCOHOL, GLYCERIN, ISOPROPYL MYRISTATE, STEARAMIDOPROPYL DIMETHYLAMINE, GLYCINE SOJA OIL / SOYBEAN OIL, ALOE BARBADENSIS LEAF JUICE, HELIATHUS ANNUUS SEED OIL / SUNFLOWER SEED OIL, VITIS VINIFERA FRUIT EXTRACT / GRAPEFRUIT EXTRACT, COCOS NUCIFERA OIL / COCONUT OIL, SODIUM HYDROXIDE, COCO-CAPRYLATE / CAPRATE, HYDROXYPROPYL GUAR HYDROXYPROPYLTRIMONIUM CHLORIDE, CAPRYLYL GLYCOL, CITRIC ACID, TARTARIC ACID, CETYL ESTERS, POTASSIUM SORBATE, SODIUM BENZOATE, SALICYLIC ACID, LINALOOL, GERANIOL, CITRONELLOL, BENZYL ALCOHOL, PARFUM/ FRAGRANCE (F.I.L C229471/1), Purified water, soybean oil, aloe leaves, sunflower seed oil, grapefruit extract, coconut oil
350–500 rubles is the price for 390 ml.
It is incorrect to refer to it as a budget equivalent of Hydra. Although the mask’s composition is more complex and it works well on slightly damaged hair, it won’t offer the same level of intense hydration as Hydra. You run the risk of overdrying your hair and considerably weighing it down if you hold it on longer or apply more. The rich, sweet scent soon gets monotonous. sans silicones.
- Cocochoco Intensive
Composition
Aqua, Cetearyl Alcohol and Behentrimonium Methosulfate, Sodium Hyaluronate (Hyaluronic Acid), Behentrimonium Chloride, PEG-60 Almond Glycerides, Swertia Japonica extract, PG-Propyl Silanetriol, Sodium Stearoyl Casein, Hydrolyzed Whole Wheat Protein, Arctium Lappa (Burdock) extract, D -Panthenol (Pro Vitamin B-5), Hydrolyzed Wheat Starch, Avena Sativa (Oat) extract, Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf juice, Argania Spinosa extract (Argan), Algae extract, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Polyquaternium 67, Fragrance, Hydrolyzed Keratin, Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Phenoxyethanol, Benzyl Alcohol. 150 ml for 750–1000 rubles.
I was looking for a creamy leave-in that was moisturizing when I bought this mask for my hennaed hair. As a leave-in, though, I could not understand it at all; however, as a mask, it worked wonders. It does not weigh down and detangles and smoothes nicely. hydrates and nourishes hair without leaving it protruding.
Sans silicone. Perfect for a hot summer, it smells nice like fresh cucumbers.
- Lebel Viege Treatment SOFT

This mask is the best thing you can give your hair; I’ve already said how much I love it and I won’t stop!
It gives my hair the ideal ratio of hydration, nutrition, and restoration. It has a nice, creamy texture and a delicate, multifaceted scent. Self-sufficient—it conditions and untangles flawlessly. Hair is robust and dense without being heavy, yet it is also soft and gentle without being overly airy. lovely visual hair to hair.
The price of the mask is a major drawback that prevents me from incorporating it into my regular routine.
- Insight Dry Hair Nourishing Mask
Composition
Shorea Stenoptera Seed Butter, Avena Sativa (Oat) Bran Extract, Myristyl Alcohol, Cetearyl Alcohol, Cetrimonium Chloride, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Citric Acid, Magnesium Nitrate, Magnesium Chloride, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone
250 ml costs 800-1500 rubles.
The mask left a very positive impression on me when I had it in a casting. The mask is intricate, weighty, and emphasizes hydration and nutrition. I can confidently suggest it to revive damaged hair. Thin hair can occasionally be rehydrated if it is not overly damaged.
- Barex Re-Hydration Mask
Composition
AQUA (WATER), CETEARYL ALCOHOL, GLYCERIN, CETRIMONIUM CHLORIDE, STEARAMIDOPROPYL DIMETHYLAMINE, HYDROLYZED WHEAT PROTEIN, AMODIMETHICONE, MACROCYSTIS PYRIFERA EXTRACT/MACROCYSTIS PYRIFERA (KELP) EXTRACT, HYDROLYZED ALGAE EXTRACT, PEG-6 CAPRYLIC/CAPRIC GLYCERIDES, MARIS AQUA (SEA WATER), CITRIC ACID, ETHYLHEXYLGLYCERIN, LIMONENE, TRIDECETH-12, LINALOOL, BENZYL SALICYLATE, PARFUM (FRAGRANCE)
Price range for 200 ml: 1300–1500 rubles.
I set the mask aside because it was disappointing given the high humidity. It’s now appropriate to test the mask during the season of dry heating. My opinion remains unchanged: I don’t like it.
An extremely unusual perfumed scent that may not appeal to everyone. Rich and vivid, it covers the entire bathroom when washing, but it quickly disappears from the hair.
The mask has a hint of fluff. I get soft, tangled hair the first day after using it, and crispy, dry ends the next. I am not subjected to such cruel treatment even by Hydra! I was also disappointed with the packaging; the mask leaks a little and the lid does not fit tightly.
Naturally, it works better with conditioner; however, the mask is already complex, and adding more nutrition or restoration can weigh down fine hair. Angel Professional is a conditioning product that fits in this spot perfectly (many thanks to Yana Tiefenritt for giving me the chance to try this legend). Given that the mask is pricey and that using it with the conditioner gives me the same results as my go-to, dependable Kaaral Hydra, I will not be buying it again. Why pay more when the outcome is the same?
Ampoules

Twelve 10 ml ampoules per package, priced at 2600 rubles.
Not only repairs damaged hair, but also moisturizes it. Uncertain scent is a negative. Unfortunately, I will not be repurchasing this product because of complaints that it "stinks." No, it’s okay with me, but my spouse wasn’t fond of it. The ampoules strengthen brittle ends in addition to moisturizing them. The existence of an alternative is a good thing.
- FarmStay filler with hyaluronic acid
Composition

It is a pale blue liquid with a hint of floral fragrance that slightly foams when applied to hair. My hair gets smoothed and intensely moisturized. supple and smooth.
It’s important to keep in mind that ampoules are required for a more thorough and complex effect when hair restoration and strengthening are required or when the effect must be achieved quickly "on the go." Ampoules are not meant to be used frequently, and misuse can have the opposite effect, leading to brittleness, stiffness, and dryness.
