Beginning of spring
I brought four shampoos to the spring marathon: Barex JOC Care Re-Hydra Moisturizing Shampoo with Banana Flower, Vieso Nourishing Shampoo with Honey, and Angel Provence Activating Shampoo with Rosemary and Grapefruit.
My quick thoughts on them are available in the post about the marathon’s beginning.
In summary, Barex with banana flower was the only shampoo I didn’t like. My scalp was overly cleansed, it felt uncomfortable to touch my hair afterward, and as a result of the "harsh" cleaning, my scalp became more oily.
Furthermore, the scent of the shampoo was overpowering, even though it was still pleasant; I personally dislike strongly scented products.
Angel Provence with rosemary left me feeling happy, and I’ll probably do it again in the future. However, I find it a little monotonous to use multiple Provence series shampoos at once. Additionally, the grapefruit-infused shampoo did not let me down; I am now using it regularly. Although it feels a little softer than its brother that contains rosemary, I find that this washing power is sufficient.
The fragrance of both Angel Provence shampoos is so lovely that sometimes I just enter the bath and take a whiff.
I was enthralled with vieso with honey right from the start! It conditions the length even while it is being washed thanks to its excellent washing ability. Even without further rinse-off maintenance, the hair gets silky, heavy, and smooth!
I was going to replicate it in full-size format and I had a travel version, but. After weighing my options, I decided that I now require a more cleansing version of the shampoo.
Angel Provence is, in my opinion, Vieso’s "younger brother." Furthermore, they are associated with the same cosmetic concern, and there may be a relationship between different product lines within it.
Angel Provence shampoos share many of the same characteristics as Vieso, with the exception that "Angel" has less noticeable effects. While "Angel" and Vieso don’t provide as much conditioning, smoothness, or nourishment, they still function similarly on hair.
Because of this, I have chosen to purchase Vieso shampoo only after my current bottle of Angel Provence with grapefruit runs out. By doing this, I’ll be able to prevent a duplicate effect and the cans remaining empty on the shelf.
Based on all of the above, I decided to treat myself to a new product in care – Insight Volumizing shampoo!
A new hair care product for spring, Insight Volumizing Shampoo, is meant to give your hair more volume without sacrificing its health or vitality. This shampoo is perfect for people who want to give their hair body and bounce without weighing it down because it is light-weight but still effective. It’s a novel addition to any hair care regimen, offering precisely the right amount of lift and nourishment to give hair a revitalized, fuller appearance.
Why Insight
I have prior experience using the Anti-frizz line’s Insight shampoo. Even though this line is meant to be moisturizing, the shampoo was extremely "abrasive" and left my skin feeling incredibly clean, even though it didn’t make my skin any more oily. It was also fairly mild in terms of length. Although we didn’t become friends right away, I still enjoyed using it later on. It washed only slightly stronger than I would have liked, I suppose.
So when the question came up about getting a more cleansing shampoo to replace a gentle "Angel," I chose to stick with the Insight brand and went with the volume-focused option.
I adore KATe_RINa’s theory, which states that because fewer ingredients are layered on the hair and scalp, "volume" shampoos will offer the most comfortable level of rinsing. I have to admit that I used to be terrified of these shampoos because I thought all of my hair would fly up into space.
However, as they say, "nothing ventured, nothing gained," the purchase arrived quickly.
Let’s think about our new hero and go from words to deeds!
Packaging
The shampoo comes in an Insight brand pump dispenser plastic bottle, which is a typical bottle design.
Shampoo comes in three different packaging options: 100, 400, and 900 ml. The version in the middle is what I have.
I adore how all of the brand’s products are designed. You are already aware of my slight weakness—packaging in the "pharmacy" style. It’s important to note separately that every piece of Insight packaging I had to use is of the highest caliber. Despite the fact that my products are in the bathroom and are frequently exposed to moisture, the dispenser never jams and the labels do not come off.
If the label is removed, you could theoretically just use the bottle as a stylish container for various products.
Because of the superior quality and density of the plastic, it appears to be a genuine glass bottle on the shelf. All the information that is required to understand the product is on the label.
The brand’s products are officially supplied to the Russian Federation, meaning that the label has been Russified straight from the manufacturer, which is very convenient.
Additionally, I think it’s critical that the product is completely recyclable and has not been subjected to animal testing. Greetings to all those who separate and transport waste to the designated location.
Composition
Full composition of the shampoo
Aqua (Water), Disodium Laureth Sulfosuccinate, Sodium Coceth Sulfate, Betaine, Lamium Album Extract, Plantago Psyllium Seed Extract, Panax Ginseng Root Extract, Glycerin, Parfum, Fragrance, Potassium sorbate, sodium chloride, citric acid, guar hydroxypropyltrimonium chloride, and sodium benzoate.
The product has a relatively laconic composition, and its washing base, sodium coceth sulfate, is a strong surfactant made from coconut oil. It functions in tandem with another surfactant called Disodium Laureth Sulfosuccinate, which helps to establish and preserve the emulsion’s state in addition to its cleansing properties.
It’s important to keep in mind that not all Insight brand shampoos contain sulfates, despite what many people believe.
Extracts of ginseng (Panax Ginseng Root Extract), white lycopene flowers (Lamium Album Extract), and plantain seed husk (Plantago Psyllium Seed Extract) are also included in the composition.
I think it’s a good thing that the formula is free of silicones and oils because the shampoo won’t make the hair feel heavy.
Texture and aroma
The consistency of the shampoo is helium, completely transparent. This, in my opinion, is yet another indication that the shampoo won’t cause overdrying or weigh down the hair, which is a common occurrence with opaque and particularly shimmer textures.
I can’t help but smell like kiddie chewing gum. A fragrance that was a surprise for a company that bills itself as professional organics. However, this scent is far more pleasant and lighter than the Anti-Frizz line, which reminded me of my grandmother’s overpowering cologne.
Generally speaking, the scent doesn’t bother the hair or scalp while being washed.
Application and impressions
As I mentioned earlier, I chose the shampoo based on my prior experience with Insight Anti-Frizz shampoo, which left my scalp feeling noticeably clean. And I anticipated a similar experience with Insight Volumizing—I wanted to sense the root zone’s freshness following washing.
Did the shampoo meet my expectations? Not at all! Compared to them, it was superior.
The shampoo creates a gentle, porous foam when it lathers. It’s not that much, but you don’t get the impression that you’re rinsing your hair in water like a crazy raccoon for no reason.
There is a noticeable increase in foam during the second lathering, but this is not a "foam cap." A little foaming and a bubble party on my head are both fine with me. My hands feeling the shampoo is what matters most.
Upon first using Insight Volumizing to wash my hair, I was taken aback by the result: perfectly tangled, conditioned hair. My fingers were literally filled with hair! Not a trace of stiffness, not of tangled hair.
To be honest, I was expecting "stripped hair" and harsh cleaning, but this was such a bonus! The scalp feels clean and well-hydrated without being overly dried out at the same time.
After drying, hair in the root zone continues to be crumbly and voluminous.
Right now, I’m pleased with the shampoo. I’m constantly reaching for it with my hand!
