Product Description
Dikson Super Discipline A smoothing treatment that helps tame frizz and adds shine to unruly hair. Perfect for achieving a sleek, controlled look.
Matrix Mega Sleek An anti-frizz shampoo and conditioner that smoothens hair, leaving it soft and manageable, ideal for a smooth, polished finish.

My problem areas

  1. Front strands. I really don"t like the way they look, they are see-through, stick out in different directions and don"t want to lie neatly. A couple of years ago I made a small cascade of just the front strands, when I didn"t like it, I trimmed the ends in a semicircle, and not all the strands got under the scissors, because they were too short.
  2. Dryness and split ends. They are not always dry, rather sometimes I notice dryness on the second day after washing. Split ends and white dots have always been there, now there are not very many of them, but I would like even less.
  3. Tangles. Enemy No. 1, I regularly find knots, I have to take up the scissors.

My goals

  • Grow maximum length with a dense and thick cut (if the hair looks bad, I can sacrifice length for the sake of quality).
  • Minimize split ends and knots.
  • Create an ideal basic care product team.

Today, I’d like to talk about my opinions of Dikson’s Matrix Mega Sleek shampoo, mask, and heat-protective spray in an attempt to reduce frizz and enhance hair discipline.

Are you looking for frizz-free, silky hair? Find out how Matrix Mega Sleek and Dikson Super Discipline can assist you in achieving that. This post will discuss how these two well-known products give your hair shine and control, making it easier to manage and more sleek. These treatments guarantee to effortlessly transform your hair into a sleek, disciplined style, regardless of whether you’re dealing with unruly curls or just want a smoother appearance.

Matrix Mega Sleek Shampoo

I find that shampooing is a crucial step in hair care because hard water exacerbates the issues of having an oily scalp and dry, porous hair.

I have to switch between using stronger shampoos that thoroughly clean the scalp and dry out the hair and using softer, gentler shampoos. Somehow, there was a noticeable imbalance in favor of deep cleaning products in my arsenal. Upon realizing this, I started searching for a gentler yet still potent solution. Matrix Mega Sleek shampoo turned out to be one such example.

  • Volume: 300 ml.
  • Approximate cost: 600 rubles.
  • Effect: nutrition, smoothing, elasticity.
  • Hair type: unruly.

A little about the brand

Matrix, a brand of L’Oreal Professional Products, offers a variety of coloring, caring, texturizing, and styling products.

The hairdressers Arnie and Sydelle Miller founded Matrix in 1980. Their primary objective was and still is to assist colorists with their business and professional development. Arnie Miller spent more than 20 years in the hairdressing industry prior to founding Matrix. Professional products were distributed to distributors and beauty salons by his first business, Ardell. Ardel also manufactured and marketed hair dyes. Mr. Miller sold Ardel in the late 1970s so he could focus entirely on creating the Matrix brand.

A new identity, a training program for hairdressers and colorists, and the first staining system with Socolor + Socolor Sync Pre-Bonded in Russian salons were all introduced by the brand in 2021 as part of a global relaunch. The global brand has stayed loyal to its core principles for forty years: inspiring, accessible, and uncomplicated.

Description of the manufacturer

Shea butter in Mega Sleek shampoo smoothes frizzed-out hair, shields it from the elements, and adds shine. Perfect for damaged, colored hair and split ends. Ceramides rebuild the structure of the hair while shea butter nourishes and adds a stunning shine. After just one use, the results are evident—hair is beautifully lustrous and silky for an extended period of time. Using a system of shampoo, conditioner, and thermal protection spray yields the best results.

Composition

Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Glycerin, Dimethicone, Sodium Chloride, Coco-Betaine, Glycol Distearate, Hexylene Glycol, Cocamide Mipa, Sodium Benzoate, Parfum / Fragrance, Salicylic Acid, Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride, Carbomer, Butyrospermum Parkii Butter / Shea Butter, 2-Oleamido-1,3 Octadecanediol, Sodium Hydroxide, Citric Acid (F.I.L. D174574/2)

I’ve been using Matrix products for almost ten years, and during that time, they have never failed me. My go-to shampoo for colored hair after getting my hair professionally dyed was Matrix Color Obsessed. I purchased a big quantity all at once and used it virtually nonstop. However, I eventually felt the need to try new things, and while some of them were successful—I can’t say that they were all failures—I’ve since gone back to Matrix.

A small digression

The Vieso and Angel Provence shampoos are among the most well-liked mild shampoos available on our website. I tried Angel Provence shampoo with verbena and Vieso shampoos with honey and ylang-ylang. I am very sorry to say that none of them worked for me. In addition, as soon as I started massaging and applying it to my scalp, I started to feel uncomfortable burning and itching. I gave up trying to get along with Vieso and Angel shampoos since I couldn’t figure out which ingredient was causing the reaction.

I’m not very good at composition; the outcome is what matters to me.

As a result, the shampoo foams up nicely and thoroughly cleans the scalp (I use it twice) without leaving hair feeling confused at the roots. I feel like I’m softening when I wash the length of only foam. Although I’m sure this shampoo does a great job at smoothing hair, the most important thing is that the scalp feels good.

  1. Perfectly cleanses the scalp
  2. Does not tangle the hair
  3. Leaves a natural volume in the basal zone
  4. Smoothes
  1. For me not

A little about the brand

In both Europe and the USA, this Italian company’s products are widely used. Russia first became aware of it in Milan, the global center of fashion. Dikson Professional Cosmetics provides you with tried-and-true hair care products.

Naturally, it is important to take note of this company’s protective technical methods, which include shampoos for sensitive and colored hair, dry and brittle hair, frequent washings with argan oil, moisturizing and restorative shampoos for all hair types, and shampoos for specific purposes. Products with medicinal ampoules are highly sought-after in spas and salons. They provide protection from chemical treatments, repair dry and damaged hair, get rid of dandruff, and stop hair loss in its tracks. Among the company’s offerings, balms, masks, and conditioners hold a particular position. They have an anti-aging effect, add shine and volume to hair, and moisturize and repair damaged hair ends.

Composition

Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Cetrimonium Chloride, Aqua(water)(EAU), Cocos Nucifera Oil, Arginine,Aspartic Acid, PCA, Glycine, Alanine, Serine, Valine, Proline, Threonine, Phenylalanine, Histidine, Simethicone, Citric acid, Hydrolyzed Rice Protein, Sodium PCA, Sodium Lactate, Arginine, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, Parfum (FRAGRANCE), Linalool

As I’ve already stated, I have no idea what the ingredients are; the most I can do is type them into a special website and be amazed at how many "red" ingredients there are.

However, this mask’s composition doesn’t seem to be overly guilty of "red" ingredients, so let’s look at it in more detail.

Analysis of the composition

Numerous beneficial amino acids, organic components, rice proteins, and coconut oil are mentioned in the description. I still find it difficult to distinguish products on my own by the categories of moisturizing, nutrition, and restoration, but this mask seems like it can properly restore hair, nourish it well, and moisturize it slightly (correct me if I’m wrong).

Consistency and aroma

I consider the mask to be more akin to a balm. Its texture is extremely delicate, weightless, and light.

When I tried to apply it to damp hair, it just flowed off of them; when I tried to apply it to towel-dried hair, I got the impression that it melted and was absorbed entirely into the hair. As a result, I think the mask’s consumption is pretty good. To cover the entire length, I need a portion that is roughly the size of a palm, slanting slightly away from the roots. I haven’t experienced an overdose yet, even with such liberal use.

The mask has a mild, sweetish-floral scent that fades from the hair and is reminiscent of a very nice perfume.

Result

I use a towel to remove the mask, add heat-protective cream, and use a hairdryer to dry the hair, pulling out any excess with a brush or comb. I then apply a leave-in conditioner, even though applying conditioner would have made the hair more smooth. If the outcome looked better without conditioner, that’s okay too.

Hair compaction has a very noticeable effect on my hair; it seems to get bigger and more elastic. There’s less frizz, but it’s not as if the hair has been ironed smooth; it’s just slightly less frizz.

Though I might be mistaken, it appears to me that curly girls can also benefit from this series and this mask because, when I attempted to air dry my hair, my waves showed up much more than usual and gave my hair a really lovely volume (as opposed to the typical cotton candy effect). But since I’ve only used this technique once, I can’t say for sure.

I’ve been using this mask two or three times a week for the past two months. There’s a noticeable cumulative effect; hair does get easier to manage. I only feel good after wearing this mask.

  1. Thickens
  2. Makes hair more manageable
  3. Shine
  4. Straightening
  1. Does not completely remove frizz
  2. High consumption

Dikson Super Discipline Heat-protective smoothing hair spray

Offers moisture resistance and antistatic properties.

Composition

Arginine, Aspartic Acid, PCA, Glycine, Alanine, Serine, Valine, Isoleucine, Proline, Threonine, Phenylalanine, Histidine, Simethicone, Polyglyceryl-10 Pentastearate, Stearamidopropyl Dimethylamine Lactate, Hydrolyzed Rice Protein,Cocos Nucifera Oil, Cyclopentasiloxane, Glyoxylic Acid, Propylene Glycol, Cyclopentasiloxane, Cetrimonium Chloride, Myristyl Alcohol, Behenyl Alcohol, Polyglyceryl-10 Pentastearate, Stearamidopropyl Dimethylamine Lactate, Hydrolyzed Rice Protein, Parfum (PARFUM), Phenoxyethanol, Citronellol, Limonene, and Linalool

Composition analysis

Like the mask, the composition is high in amino acids and includes coconut oil and rice proteins. You will not name it empty, I assure you.

Consistency and aroma

The smell is unpleasant and slightly harsh, and I dislike it much less than the mask. Sadly, I can smell it on my hair (but only if I bury my nose in it). I couldn’t figure out what it reminded me of for a long time, but eventually, when I decided to use the Dikson Ristruturante hair ampoule once more, I recognized the scent! The ampoules smell exactly the same, but much more strongly.

The spray has a creamy texture, and when the dispenser is pressed, the product is released either in a stream or, less frequently, as a cloud. I find that applying the product in the palm of my hand (four or five presses), rubbing it in, and gently distributing it through my hair is more convenient. The cream is fairly light, but it can cause overdryness if you use too much of it.

Result

If you brush-dry it, the cream smoothes it out a little and effectively minimizes frizz. I wouldn’t describe it as smooth, but there is a little less frizz than usual when drying naturally. Since they are denser and more elastic, the mask’s effect is distinctly improved. It’s only at the end of the day that the hair becomes truly smooth. In the not too distant future, I will be able to assess the thermal protection qualities.

  1. Smoothes
  2. Reduces frizz
  3. Shine
  1. Smell
  2. Does not remove frizz completely

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Sasha Sany for suggesting the Olivia Garden FB Combo comb! The rays of this beauty faded all my other combs. The product is very effective at detangling and smoothing, and I’m very pleased with my purchase!
