Description of my hair

I’ll tell you about my hair first. You already know that it’s colored. My hair is prone to breakage and split ends because it is thick, porous, and dry.

And in the daylight, this is my color (the photo was taken right after I dyed, by the way). It’s evident that there is yellowness and a warm shade.

Furthermore, my natural color contains a lot of yellow pigment (the roots shimmer like gold in the sun). I have a warm color type, so I generally don’t aim to be a platinum blonde. I use color products to counteract the yellowness in my hair and give it a more noble shade.

I used tint products Concept, specifically shampoo Concept for neutralizing yellowness anti-yellow and balm anti-yellow Arctic Blonde, to deal with this yellowness without sacrificing the quality of my hair. I was excited to try this line on my hair because I had read so many great reviews about it.

Anti-yellow shampoo for neutralizing yellowness

Description from the manufacturer

Light-colored hair is intended to be lightly toned with this shampoo. The shampoo’s silver and violet pigments bring out the shine in blond hues and balance out any yellow tones in light-colored, bleached hair.

Hair receives the best care from effective conditioning additives; it becomes silky, elastic, and shiny. • Mild cleaning. • Gently inclining. •A noble silver hue replaces the unwanted yellow color nuance. • Hair gets silky, glossy, and soft. APPLICATION: After 3-5 minutes, rinse your hair well with water after using a small amount of shampoo to damp hair and creating a lather. Apply to hair for ten to fifteen minutes for a more intense toning. Shampoo should be left on hair for no longer than five minutes after using the balm for light shades to counteract yellowness (Color Enhancing Balsam for light-blond& blonded hair).

Packaging

The shampoo’s design is sleek, yet it’s also straightforward and minimalist. A purple plastic bottle with a white lid and multicolored writing on it was all that was necessary. In addition to the 300 ml that I have, a liter is also produced.

It’s very easy to dose the shampoo because it comes out through a swing lid, I believe.

A description of the product and its ingredients can be found on the bottle’s back, along with manufacturer information.

Consistency

The shampoo has violet pigment in it since its purpose is to counteract yellowness. The product has a very saturated, dark color, but when it is combined with water, the foam takes on a lovely lilac hue.

Because the shampoo has a fairly liquid consistency, you must take care not to squeeze out too much. The shampoo’s extremely poor foaming power is another drawback. I could hardly get any foam at all when I lathered my hair for the first time. I succeeded the second time, but I had to add extra shampoo because there wasn’t enough foam for my entire hair length. The shampoo has a subtle scent that is hard to detect in the bottle, but as you wash your hair, you can detect a light, somewhat sweet scent that makes me think of blackberries.

Effect

Tinting blonde hair, particularly with purple products, should be done carefully because you run the risk of looking unintentionally lilac-colored and like Malvina. As a result, I chose to use the shampoo for a brief period of time the first time, even though the manufacturer only suggests using it for three minutes. And for my hair, this was more than enough time. I emulsified the product and allowed it to work after stretching the resulting soapy foam along the length of my hair.

Changes in color were noticeable almost immediately; even with wet hair, it was possible to see that the color was becoming more noble, and I even appeared a little pinker than usual.

There is an opinion that tint shampoos make hair drier (it is worth considering that these are not everyday products), and I agree with this. Wet hair was a little drier than after my usual shampoo, but at the same time it is easy to sort out with your hands.
After the shampoo, I applied a thick nourishing mask and left it for 15 minutes. When I washed it off, the water was also lilac. I was already upset that all the pigment from the shampoo was washed out with the mask, but no!
The shampoo (even solo without using a tint balm) managed to make the color of my hair cooler and more noble. Of course, I did not become an ash blonde, but I did not want that.
I also tried to keep the shampoo for 5 minutes. For myself, I think a shorter exposure time is optimal, if you leave it longer than 3 minutes, the lightest strands can acquire a lilac tint.
Let"s see on the result. My camera did not want to transmit the real hair color in any way, in the photo that with a flash, what is without, I’m very dark and in some places a redhead is generally red.

However, everything is entirely different in real life. This is how I see my hair in the mirror; it was taken with a phone during the day. The camera creates a mystique of sorts. However, the purple-pink hue of the hair is still visible there.

Final impression

Yellowness is actually neutralized by the product. I reiterate: this is not a daily shampoo. However, for people who value their bleached hair’s gorgeous color, I believe using it once every one to two weeks won’t be unnecessary. There’s no denying that this shampoo belongs on my bathroom shelf. It’s great that it can quickly and affordably give blonde hair a nice color!

Pros

  • neutralises yellowness
  • the effect appears from the first use
  • gives the hair a noble shade
  • the effect is achieved in just 3 minutes
  • low price
  • pleasant aroma
  • the effect lasts even after 3-4 subsequent washes

Cons

  • does not foam well
  • The hair is more dry than after the usual shampoo (I don’t know if this can be considered a minus for a tinting agent)

Consistency

I was surprised to find that the conditioner was incredibly thick—almost like a mask. For this reason, trying to get the product out of the bottle is difficult. You can unscrew the lid to solve the problem in theory. However, I believe it will be difficult to squeeze it out once the conditioner starts to run low. I’ve already made creases from trying to squeeze out the conditioner on the label that is affixed to the bottle.

The product has an intriguing color that is dark and purple with a hint of gray, at least that’s how I perceive it.However, this makes sense because our goal is to achieve a cool, arctic blond (ash = gray) by counterbalancing the yellowness.

Effect

I shampooed my hair, put on gloves (as recommended by the manufacturer), squeezed out some conditioner, and started to work it through my hair. After towel-drying the hair, I discovered that it was quite challenging to distribute the product; I had to squeeze out a large amount of the balm, and I had already concluded that the consumption was not cost-effective. I liked the product better the second time I used it on damper hair. The strands appear like this after the conditioner is applied.

Since my hair is fairly light, I decided not to risk leaving the product on for longer than three and a half minutes. This is the outcome on wet hair after we wash it off. You can already see the color changes in your hair at this point, just like you would with shampoo.

I was even more fond of the effect after it dried. I received a shade of cool noble beige with a faint ash undertone. The color really pleased me. This is how my camera interprets the color (the picture was taken in artificial light):

I also enjoyed how the conditioner made my hair feel dense, as if I had toned it with paint. They gained weight, nourishment, and straightness. However, the hair that stuck out and fluffed up (I’m referring to hair that is shorter than the main length; these are the hairs that were not protected from fragility or hair that regrows after hair loss) stayed with me. Naturally, the tint balm’s effect isn’t comparable to what I get from using different professional masks. However, the balm’s function is to provide shade; it is not necessary for this. Additionally, I find the effect as "after toning" to be a very welcome bonus.

Consistency issues could occur because the balm is thick and difficult to squeeze out of the bottle. It should be noted that the product is highly concentrated and that damp hair can benefit from its application, but careful application is required. The initial attempt I had to make.

Final impression

After using this tint balm, I will say that I even more like the color and am thrilled with this shade! Hair feels like it did after a salon toning. I’m prepared to adjust the product’s application and distribution to achieve this goal. Additionally, leave-in products or conditioner applied after tint balm can make up for the neglect.

Pros

  • beautiful shade
  • fast action time 3-5 minutes
  • effect as after toning with paint
  • economical consumption
  • pleasant aroma
  • affordable price
  • effect lasts for the next 3-4 washes

Cons

  • hard to distribute over hair
  • high consumption
