Why this model?
I really like it when my hair looks smooth, straight and shiny. But, unfortunately, by nature it is porous, “light”, but stiff. With certain care it can be very porous and wavy. That is why sometimes I resort to styling.
I am not friends with a brushing comb, I have tried many times, but this option is not at all convenient. The iron has too detrimental an effect on fragile bleached hair. The solution was to use a “paddle” comb for styling with a hairdryer. I consider these combs to be the most convenient for straightening long hair.
At first I used a comb that was not specifically designed for styling hair dryer, and then I got a special IKOO Paddle X. I chose it because I had long wanted to try a comb specially designed for blow-drying, but not round.

I already wrote above that this is one of the most impressive purchases for me.
The fact is that the comb simply amazed me with its design and appearance. After looking at the picture on the website, I thought that I would receive a small comb in a regular package in the parcel. Usually popular combs are packed quite simply – in a plastic transparent flimsy box. Here, everything turned out differently.
In the mailbox I found a large tin box with a very beautiful modern design. I just love everything in this style. I looked at the packaging for a long time, not daring to look inside. This box is so impressive, expensive and stylish!
It’s tin, as I’ve already mentioned, and mine is white in shape.
The front side features an image of the Ikoo comb itself, with the model name "paddleX" and the manufacturer’s logo visible in different corners.
The box has the manufacturer’s logos on both ends, and on the back is a sticker in Russian in addition to a thorough English description and a few illustrations.
This comb’s box alone gives the impression that it’s a pricey, high-quality hair tool. My somewhat expensive smartphone and tablet, in my opinion, were not as well-packaged.
The package also came with a brochure.
However, it is said that the Ikoo Home comb is the subject, not the Paddle X model. Finding out that traditional Chinese medicine served as the foundation for the development of the dental system was intriguing.
It is simple to remove the box’s lid, and once inside, the modern-style magnificence is exactly as it is outside. First, a tiny pamphlet detailing the comb greets us beneath the lid, and beneath it is the post’s protagonist, the stunningly white Iko Padle X.
The comb is resting on a gorgeous black velvet backing. The comb can be easily removed from this case thanks to unique indentations that allow you to gently pry the handle out with your fingers.
I lift the comb and discover another brochure inside. It is foldable and compact. Given that it includes descriptions of the comb in multiple languages, including Russian, I would even go so far as to call this a mini-book.
I will say it again: the packaging is excellent beyond description. It’s incredible! Presentable, chic, and up to date. Your perception of hair styling will undoubtedly change after using this "futuristic" comb that feels like it is in your hand. Or is it just that I adore modern fashion and am incredibly impressionable? I thought the idea behind the ikoo brush design was really cool. Now let’s discuss the comb itself.
Design and first impressions
I had anticipated the comb to be smaller based on the picture I saw on the manufacturer’s website, but it turned out to be fairly large.
The material used to make the Ikoo brush is slightly velvety and feels very nice to the touch. It feels as though the comb’s body has been rubberized. You can tell right away that this comb is well-made, will not break or crack, and that its handle won’t come off, among other qualities that give it longevity. P.S. The comb’s base has a unique notch that makes it comfortable to hold in your hand, and the handle has a large ikoo logo at the end.
Naturally, the bristles occupy the majority of the body. The bristles are situated on a sizable square surface, as you can see.
If you examine closely, you will notice that there are two different types of bristles: short and long.
They switch places in a specific order. I think the short bristles are a little thinner, and the long ones are thicker (at least at the base).
The bristles feel sharp and dense, with a hint of hardness to them. I may perceive this as such because, prior to ikoo, I was using a comb with extremely soft, pliable bristles.
Now let’s examine the comb’s back. This is also the location of the identical "X"-shaped recess. This ventilation system allows hot air to be practically dosed into the hair while styling.
The recess has a silver tint, and a high-quality metal that looks like it might be metal (maybe this is it). The X’s contours are formed by stripes that are roughly 0.5–0.7 cm wide.
Additionally, there is a logo that resembles a flower at the base of the handle.
