I continue to grow my hair in 2025. My results for the past year

It can take a while to grow out your hair, but the process is worthwhile. I made the decision to let my hair grow for the past year, and it’s been an interesting experience. I’ve concentrated on keeping up good habits and taking good care of my hair in 2023 to get the best outcomes.

I’ve gained a lot of knowledge about the products that are most effective for my hair type through product trials and routine modifications. The lessons learned this year have been patience and consistency, and the fruits are beginning to appear.

I’m eager to discuss my accomplishments, the difficulties I’ve encountered, and the lessons I’ve picked up along the way. I hope that my experience will help you if you’re considering growing out your hair.

Month Growth Observation
January Hair length remained the same, no visible changes.
March Started noticing slight growth, hair feels thicker.
June Growth is more noticeable, hair reached shoulder length.
September Hair is now longer, healthier, and shinier.
December Achieved significant length, hair is now past shoulders.

I made a commitment to growing my hair in 2023, and in the last year, I’ve made great progress. I now know how to minimize damage and maximize healthy growth in my hair by experimenting with protective styles and modifying my hair care regimen. The outcomes, which include noticeable length and better overall health of the hair, are positive and demonstrate that patience and good hair care can truly pay off.

Care and mistakes at the beginning

Yes, there was a major misconception about hair needs at the start of last year. I bought everything at once when conscious care first started (this is mid-2021). The assortment of hair products kept growing, but it was still insufficient for me. I was too bored to stick to one line, so I switched between products. The hair did not benefit in any way from this.

1. "Completing" inappropriate makeup 2. Mask-wearing after each wash Enclosing every mask in conditioner

For many girls, the second and third points are fine, but they were murder on my short, slender hair. I took more weighted masks than I needed and used the incorrect ones to ensure they ran out sooner. The canvas appeared dry due to overdoing, and the hair appeared heavy and worn out. Take a look at these pictures. The hair is just too much care; it’s inappropriate.

Even now, at the start of 2023, the lengthened hair already responds differently to masks. I don’t pour conditioner on top of them or wear them for hours on end. Holding for five to ten minutes while I wash in the shower. I consider the state of the hair not every time I wash it. However, there is a fantastic light mask that, after 30 minutes of exposure, produces a wow effect. I take a unique approach to every product, making sure it gets the most out of it.

"Finishing off" inappropriate products is a grave error! It took me a full year to realize this. I tried to smear everything to the very last drop because I was so sorry to part with my jars. They annoyed me, and I could see the terrible effect on my hair, but I persisted.

Everything that was utterly inappropriate in the picture:

To be honest, I find it annoying to look at all of this. New me, new in 2023. So, no more makeup on a second, third, or tenth try. Goodbye, you exacerbate my hair problems! I’ll go right on to the following section.

How my cosmetic wardrobe has changed

By year’s end, the products I was using for my care were essentially tried-and-true. Untested and unknown ones exist, of course, but they are mainly only appropriate.

Although the products are from different brands, I am confident that Tigi Bed Head is a great fit for my hair. Since I’ve been purchasing their goods for a while, I’ve tried practically all of them. They have proven jars, which I now use in my care.

My insights over the past year

I’ve learned a bit about hair care over the past year and have a better idea of what my hair needs. I came to the following personal discoveries through trial and error.

About shampoo

I need a very soft shampoo. Moisturizing shampoos with silicones are something I don’t avoid. My hair appears full, thick, and healthy when using them. Follow-up treatments such as masks and conditioners lay low and reveal their true selves. And I reject harsh shampoos with a firm NO. SHGO is not taken into account. In order to prevent skin irritation, I must use a shampoo containing SLES as an alternative.

About masks

I’ve finally realized when a hair mask is necessary. When I touch the end of a braid after braiding it, if it feels hard and protrudes like a pole, it’s time to create an ampoule or mask. The only issue is that I still don’t know when I should be eating and when I should be hydrated. But any mask makes my tips feel, even if it’s restoring. My hair shows its ends a lot because I haven’t cut it in over a year. I also discovered that moisturizing is what my hair loves most.

Regretfully, there aren’t many fans that want to see things again.

How the hair has changed in a year

In a year, let’s see how much longer and better-quality hair I’ve grown.

33 cm in December 2022. 2023 January – 49 cm.

In a year and a half, I gained 16 cm of growth.

I have not had my hair cut in months. I follow my own strategy, which is to not cut yourself for five years so that I can subsequently make an even cut and chop off more. My last haircut was a year and a half ago.

Let me go over my hair with you again:

  • Thin and sparse
  • The ends are damaged due to bleaching, thinning and ironing
  • Naturally porous and low-porosity after bio-straightening
  • Easily oversaturated
  • I wash my hair every other day
  • I"ve been dyeing my hair with henna and basma for six months

The parting seems, to me, to be less obvious now. The strip of skin is thinner than it was a year ago, as I can see in the mirror.

I attempted a side parting, but for some reason it doesn’t suit me. I’ll be wearing it with a center parting going forward.

Care and plans for 2025

This is what my care looked like at the start of the year. Of course, there will be increases and decreases throughout the year. I included this picture for historical purposes in the interim.

I want to grow my hair out by 20 cm this year. in order for me to attain the lovely height of 70 cm in December 2023. After that, I might get a haircut, but I’m not sure.

Also, I don’t currently have any plans to measure the thickness. At the moment, my low ponytail has a mere 6.5 cm of volume. I’ll check the amount for the following year.

Until I get at least three full-fledged hairs growing from a single follicle, I will keep stimulating the hair follicles nonstop.

Looking back on the past year, I can say that growing my hair has been a worthwhile endeavor. Though it has required perseverance and commitment, the outcomes are evident. Significant growth has been observed, and my hair feels healthier than it has in the past.

I now know more about good hair care practices and how to maintain the healthiest possible condition for my hair thanks to this process. Every step, from consistent trimmings to nourishing products, has been crucial to my development.

I’m eager to see how far I can go as I look ahead. I’m excited to see even more improvements in the upcoming year as we continue to put an emphasis on consistency and care.
