- How to straighten your hair with an iron?
Background
A straightening iron was my devoted straightening iron companion. I used it between 2005 and the end of 2021. I was worried about growing a healthy length in the summer of 2021.
I used a straightening iron to straighten my bangs, as you can see in the picture, but they just want to fly off my head instead of lie down.
I turned down keratin straightening right away. The drawbacks exceeded the benefits:
- The short-lived procedure.
- Use of only sulfate-free shampoos.
- Harm from formaldehyde vapors in the composition.
Formula
The formulas of the products contain a unique biocomponent – hydrolyzed quinoa protein, rich in amino acids (cystine, cysteine, methionine, lysine). This protein penetrates the hair to the level of the medulla, making it denser and more elastic, while the composition does not contain formaldehyde (formaldehyde) or its derivatives.
The cystine/cysteine content in hydrolyzed quinoa protein is 4.7% compared to 1.3% in keratin. Since the protein is attached to the hair structure via a disulfide bond, the more sulfur is contained in the amino acids included in the protein, the better the attachment.
Two types of copolymers have been added to further support the new hair styling:
Acrylic copolymer with a smoothing effect.
A complex polymer that increases the resistance of straightened hair to returning to its previous state.
Principle of action
Hydrolyzed quinoa protein, which is rich in amino acids (cysteine, cysteine, methionine, and lysine), is the active biocomponent. The composition’s active ingredients create new disulfide bonds during the process, which are then cemented in the hair’s new, straight cytoskeleton during ironing. Quinoa amino acids mix with the hair’s disulfide bonds, forming a "bond" that firmly keeps the hair straight.
One can debate the procedure’s safety for a very long time. In my view, the manufacturer is trustworthy.
How the procedure goes
I had my hair straightened twice, in January 2022 and August 2021. I chose to straighten just the top layer of hair and the bangs this time because it took about four hours. Fortunately, after two henna dyeings, I was accepted by the hairdresser. Naturally, I accepted all of Henna’s force majeure and assumed full responsibility for myself in the event that the outcome was unanticipated.
Deep cleansing shampoo
As usual, use deep cleansing shampoo (DCS) to wash your hair before you begin. Make a two to three lather. Five minutes are given to the final lather.
I adore DCS, mm. It was about time for a cleanse because I hadn’t used it since the end of June. One significant drawback of salon washing is that it strains my neck.
Composition
Water, sodium chloride, sodium laureth sulfate, polysorbate-20, cocamide DEA, and copolymer betaine Hydrolyzed rice protein, butylene glycol, panthenol, panthenyl hydroxypropyl steardimonium chloride, Arctium lappa root extract, Hedera Helix extract, Trigonella foenum-graecum seed extract, phenolethanol, and potassium sorbate are among the ingredients listed in glycerin, sodium benzoate, Tetra sodium edta, magnesium chloride, and magnesium nitrate.
Price per liter: 1530 rubles.
Application of the composition
The actual application of the composition is the second step.
They used a hairdryer to dry my hair after using SHGO to wash it, and then they began applying the composition, making sure to thoroughly coat each strand while removing about 5 mm from the scalp. They then wore a thermal cap for thirty to forty minutes. I don’t remember the name of the warming device I was sitting under earlier, but they decided to be sympathetic since the outside temperature was +31.
Securing
About 80 percent of the composition had likely washed off my head after 30 to 40 minutes. Then they used a hairdryer once more to dry my hair before beginning to "iron" the strands. Despite the steam emanating from my hair and their repeated going over each one, I attempted to put myself in a detached state.
The last stage
They used shampoo to wash my hair after they fried the strands.
Shampoos, once more, for blondes and brunettes. I would buy them shampoo, by the way, but I already own too many makeup items.
