It can be annoying to deal with brittle front strands that are consistently shorter than the rest of your hair. These tiny bits frequently seem to break off easily, giving the appearance of uneven hairstyles.
Fortunately, there are techniques to help those weak strands grow stronger and more evenly with the rest of your hair. It’s not as hard as it sounds, and you can get a more balanced appearance with the right attention.

Of course, many will say, what did you expect? You wash your hair every day, dye it, dry it with a hairdryer, and also straighten it with an iron every day!
So, what are your options? Because I have a lot of gray hair, I love having perfectly styled, smooth hair even at the expense of length, and I can’t stop coloring it. However, I still dream of having long hair.
By coincidence, keratin was discovered to be the solution.
I first battled the "cotton wool effect," another hair issue, with keratin’s assistance. This is when the hair is straight but extremely wrinkly; in particular, this was extremely irritating around the neck; even after using an iron to straighten the hair, it eventually started to mimic the curves of the neck, shoulders, stick, and bend, making it generally easier to show
It was determined to try using keratin to straighten the hair’s ONLY lower layer. Thus, the concept was a perfect justification for itself. I used to straighten my hair on the inside once every three to four months. After a while, the issue started to fade and I eventually forgot about it.
However, I also struggled with brittleness in my front strands all my life. Seldom did they fall below the chin, and if they did, these three strands weren’t realistic.
It was decided to attempt using keratin to straighten ONLY the front short strands.
I’ll stray for a moment: after using natural hair products, my hair looked like this, so I decided to use chemicals.
Yes, using keratin to straighten my hair once every four to five months has helped me grow the front strands of my hair nearly to the length of my natural hair for the past two years!
Right now, mine appear like this.
There are efficient ways to protect and strengthen your front strands if they are always shorter and more prone to breaking. You can help prevent damage and encourage healthier growth by using gentle hair care techniques, like avoiding excessive heat, incorporating nourishing treatments, and being mindful of your styling habits. This will ensure that those fragile strands catch up with the rest of your hair.
Now about keratin itself and how I carry out a salon procedure at home with my own hands.
More and more contemporary girls are using the fairly common procedure of keratin hair straightening. The main benefits of keratin straightening are its therapeutic effects on hair, its ability to restore the structure of damaged hair, and—above all—its ability to straighten curly and wavy hair. In contrast to other salon hair straightening techniques, this kind of hair straightening leaves the hair’s structure intact.
The primary ingredient in the straightening agent, liquid synthesized keratin, is what straightens hair. Keratin encourages liquid to seep into the spaces in the hair structure, filling them in. Following this, keratin coagulates and forms a protective layer on the hair, giving it a glossy, elastic appearance.
Usage indications for keratin
Dry, brittle, and damaged hair
Burned (void) hair from the sun
The hair that is being bleached.
Unmanageable hair that needs extensive styling.
Naturally, I will never undergo this procedure, which I do not recommend, if the hair is healthy. However, in cases where the hair is severely damaged, exhibiting open strands and resembling a Christmas tree, keratin effectively fills in the gaps and "solders" into the hair for a considerable amount of time before gradually washing out and restoring the hair to its original state.
Yes, I am brave; my very first keratin was Chinese.
Keratin one hundred milliliters

Shampoo with deep cleansing properties

I currently purchase the same Chinese (!) keratin, albeit with less formaldehyde.
Step-by-step procedure
If possible, then of course we go to the master for the procedure!
However, if you possess self-assurance and an adventurous mindset, and if an unforeseen outcome occurs, you must be able to accept responsibility for it solely. and not this post’s author, Nastina
1. Use a deeply cleansing shampoo to wash your hair. thrice.
2. We use a thin layer of keratin applied gently to dry hair and comb it through neatly.
3. At this point, problems arise because keratin-treated hair needs to be dried using a hairdryer with cool air. My eyes start to well up, but as soon as I put on my daughter’s swimming goggles, the issue is resolved. Keratin-treated hair is dried for a very long period.
4. Using an iron, we start straightening the hair as soon as it has finally dried. Given the extremely thin structure of my hair, this was at 200 degrees. 230 degrees is the required temperature for thick, hard hair.
We rapidly iron a thin strand five times without pausing for even a moment in one spot. A frightening sight, billowing smoke. Although some people describe the smell as strong as snot, saliva, and tears, it’s not that strong. No, everything is good with me, but I still wear a mask.
5. Take a moment to appreciate your gorgeous hair. Everyone! And just to refresh your memory, I only straighten the front damaged strands of hair; I leave the majority of the hair alone.
KERATIN straightening is a MYTH.
Many "writers" claim that in order to give the hair strands the desired straight shape, the keratin composition BREAKS the hair’s desulfide bonds.
This is untrue! The composition eventually wears off and the curl reverts to its original form!
And, my dear girls, remember to take better care of your hair following the keratin straightening procedure!
That’s it for now!
Problem | Solution |
Brittle strands break easily and are shorter than the rest of the hair. | Use leave-in conditioner regularly to keep the strands moisturized. |
Heat styling makes the front strands more fragile. | Limit heat styling and always apply heat protectant before using hot tools. |
Over-brushing causes breakage in the front. | Use a wide-tooth comb and be gentle when detangling. |
Exposure to the sun weakens the front strands. | Protect your hair from the sun by wearing a hat or using UV-protection spray. |
Split ends make the front strands look thinner. | Trim the front strands regularly to prevent split ends from spreading. |
Although managing brittle front strands can be difficult, you can protect and strengthen them with the correct treatment. Maintaining regular haircuts, giving your hair moisturizing treatments, and avoiding harsh styling techniques can all significantly improve its health.
Always treat your hair gently, particularly when it’s damp, and use products made to nourish and shield delicate strands. Your front strands will eventually catch up with the length of the rest of your hair if you make these minor adjustments to your routine.
Maintaining consistency is essential. Your brittle front hair strands will eventually disappear if you maintain these healthy hair habits!
