How to remove frizzy hair? Hair care porous hair in conditions of high humidity and heating

Having frizzy hair can be a daily struggle, particularly if you frequently deal with the drying effects of indoor heating or live in a humid climate. Your hair may swell or dry out due to the excess moisture in the air or lack thereof, giving you that all-too-familiar frizz.

These conditions can make it even more difficult for people with porous hair to keep their hair looking sleek and polished. Because porous hair absorbs moisture more quickly, frizz is more likely to occur. Keeping your hair under control in these situations requires knowing how to take care of it.

This post will discuss easy and efficient methods for handling frizzy hair, with an emphasis on hair care advice that works well in hot and humid conditions. You’ll know more about how to maintain healthy, lustrous hair regardless of the weather by the end.

It is crucial to concentrate on deep hydration, use anti-frizz products that seal in moisture, and protect your hair with the appropriate styling techniques and tools that minimize damage and stop frizz from taking over in order to manage frizzy hair, especially porous strands in humid or heated environments.

Features of the autumn period

Fall is a time to celebrate nature’s final beauty before it goes to sleep.

Autumn in the north was always the same when I lived there: there would be frost in September, snowfall, and early heating. They were only let out into the "wild" in rooms with dry air, and when they were outside, they were always wearing a hat, so hair care remained consistent for the next eight months. Hair has never been exposed to excessive humidity.

It was sufficient to moisturize the hair on a regular basis in such circumstances. They grew, looked fantastic, and remained soft without drying out.

I saw true fall when I relocated to Central Russia. Here, the season is drastically different: the sun is visible in the sky less frequently starting in September, when we can still enjoy regular sun exposure.

As time passes, both indoor and outdoor temperatures drop, and apartment air gets drier. The frequency of rain increases the amount of humidity outside. We frequently have to change into new clothes and put on and take off hats.

When hair is attempted to be cared for in the same way, it results in the following condition: moisture causes the hair cuticle to swell, and curls become extremely soft but fluffy and limp. They resemble cotton wool.

Your hair will break a lot more if you keep using moisturizer.

If your hair is porous and you live in an area where the fall weather is typical (high humidity, rain), you should incorporate nourishing products into your routine to help seal in moisture.

Let"s create an autumn care routine

Careful attitude

Although care can do wonders, no product can fix hair that is not treated with care. It’s likely that everyone is already aware of the significance of using a silk pillowcase, a good comb, and careful combing. Permit me to remind you of the following risks that you should be aware of during the winter:

  1. Low temperature. Cold weather is dangerous both for the hair itself and for the scalp: the former will begin to break and split intensely, and overcooling of the head can slow down growth or even cause hair loss. When the temperature drops below zero, be sure to insulate your head and hide your hair. I already put on a snood at +10.
  2. Winds and rains. Hair fluttering in the wind in advertising, of course, looks beautiful. When you encounter it yourself, the hair just wants to get into your mouth, and it will take more than one spray to untangle it. To avoid injury, it is better to collect your hair in windy weather. Why I also noted the rain? If you live in an ecologically clean region, then you probably have nothing to worry about. We are constantly fighting concrete factories, feed manufacturers, and clouds are not so harmless. Hair becomes unpleasant to the touch, so it is better not to get caught in the rain.
  3. Friction against clothes. The danger follows from the first point: hair needs to be tucked away, but best of all, under a hat. I remember how in the north hair got stuck in the zipper of a down jacket, brrr.
  4. Bags and backpacks. If the weather is still warm, do not forget to remove your hair before throwing a backpack or bag over your shoulders, otherwise the hair on that side will begin to thin.

Gentle cleansing

Gentle cleansing should always be the first step in caring for porous hair. Hard shampoos should not be used on such hair, particularly on damaged or bleached hair.

Shampoos with strong surfactants and no film formers to soften the first are known as hard shampoos. Prior to now, you could frequently read about the buildup of care on the hair in posts about porous hair. All the care will be lost and your hair will stay bare if you frequently wash it with an aggressive shampoo.

If the hair quickly becomes overly cared for, or if a build-up occurs, switching between soft and hard cleansing is required.

Building up my hair is hard because I hardly ever use silicones, thick oils, or glycerin in its care. I use Miami Stylists’ sulfate-free shampoo 305 all the time because of this.

I also opted for a sulfate-free shampoo during the previous fall marathon—a Meela Meelo shampoo. But it washes too hard, making a squeaking sound. It was a mistake to alternate it with Schauma sulfate.

I’ll take the peeling Feel the Peel from Organic Kitchen for a thorough cleaning of my scalp. It works well on my face. I’m hoping it will help my scalp as well.

Length care

As I mentioned in "Features of the Autumn Period," simply moisturizing your hair is insufficient. The issue of dry air in the rooms can be resolved by moisturizing, but excessive humidity from the outside cannot.

Masks

You must select complex products that are meant to nourish and moisturize at the same time.

Post-chemistry and dry hair masks were insightful to me. The first one locks in moisture, nourishes the hair with coconut oil, sweet almond, and illipe, and perfectly moisturizes the hair thanks to fatty alcohols. In my case, the second one comes in a tiny bottle, but I intend to purchase a full-size one shortly. In addition to stabilizing hair after coloring, Post Chemistry mask is useful for daily maintenance. includes hydrolyzed proteins, glycerin, fatty alcohols, and extracts.

When you rinse it off, you can already feel how dense your hair is. It is incredibly wonderful that it remains soft until the next wash after drying. It is soft from roots to ends. After washing, your hair does not dry out or lose moisture. Rain does not cause the cuticle to swell, leaving your hair feeling silky and smooth.

On the fourth day, my hair looks like this without being refreshed:

Instead of sitting at home, I ran to school every day. Depending on the weather, I would sometimes wear a hat or go without one. Although I could refresh the curls to give them back their original shape, I am content with this slightly sloppy styling.

Conditioners

Every time I rinse off the mask, I apply conditioner. It will be Petal Fresh with olive oil and balm "Aqua Booster" in the fall. Ultra Hydration (Natura Siberica) and Daily Conditioner (360 Hair Professional) are brand-new products under my care.

While Petal Fresh has a high oil content, it also contains glycerin, which can cause overly fluffy results. I strongly advise trying products without frizz if you suffer with it to see the difference.

Glycerin is absent from Natura Siberica conditioner, which moisturizes hair thanks to fatty alcohol and hyaluronic acid. You can get to algae quickly with its assistance.

I use the basin method to remove all conditioners from my hair. I fill the container with water and begin dipping my hair into it. As a result, some conditioners constantly stay on the hair and provide extra conditioning.

I wrote a detailed review of Natura Siberica products in another post.

Leave-in care and styling

It is preferable to prioritize creamy textures during the colder months. I take out the Bodyton keratin, DNC liquid silk, and Holika Holika aloe moisturizing gel. I prefer milk and leave-in conditioner from Natura Siberica. If you’d like more protein, try Kharisma Voltage’s leave-in care. Denser textures cause the hair to become slightly heavier and less fluffy.

Another new offering in leave-in care is a cream from 360 Hair Professional’s Be Curl line.

I’m going to cook flax gel, which is a beautiful, hydrating custard that fixes curls very firmly and gently.

Honey and argan serum Vieso will be used to finish the style. I break up a drop of oil by rubbing it between my palms. The tips get even softer as the shine increases.

Accelerated growth

I don’t want to use cooling products, like peppermint tincture, to hasten growth because it’s cool at home. Selecting neutral or heating products.

I’ll be aggressively speeding up growth in October using a Compliment pepper mask. Before washing, I apply it to my damp scalp, cover it with a cap, and leave it on for forty minutes. If you don’t remove the mask with cool water, the heat will only get stronger.

I’m going to begin a course of Selencin, a lotion-spray that strengthens, in November. It smells deliciously of coffee, perfect for chilly November evenings.

If time permits, I want to go back to herbs in December. I’ll update everyone on all the modifications to the roll-call posts.

My hair now

My hair is growing out of a pixie cut. Now, the length is almost entirely uneven, like a cascade. This shape only works to my advantage when I use the curly method because everything looks tidy and in harmony.

Visual examination reveals very few split ends. White dots are present, mainly along the temporal strands and sporadically along the entire length. These are the broken remnants of bleached hair, about 5 cm in length.

At the back of the head, the hair is pulled back into a ponytail. 8 cm is what you get when you measure the thickness. The front strands of the ponytail are still coming loose. By the time the marathon is over, I believe they will hold it with confidence.

I measure the hair from the forehead for accuracy, and in a plaid shirt for even more precision. With such clothing, tracking growth is quite simple. It is 49 cm long in curly form. 52 centimeters when stretched.

I also produced a quick film discussing my care. You can view the hair and jars here, as well as hear about it:

Problem Solution
Frizzy hair in humidity Use anti-frizz products like serums or creams to seal moisture and keep hair smooth.
Porous hair in high humidity Apply leave-in conditioners to create a barrier against humidity.
Heat-damaged hair Minimize heat styling, and use heat protectants to reduce further damage.
Maintaining moisture balance Regularly use deep conditioning treatments to keep hair hydrated.

A regular care regimen is necessary to manage frizzy hair, particularly when dealing with porous hair in high humidity or heated environments. Frizz can be minimized and hair kept smooth by using the right products, such as moisturizing shampoos, conditioners, and serums.

Using anti-frizz sprays or oils to shield your hair from humidity is crucial, particularly if you live in an area with high humidity levels. When using styling tools, heat protection sprays are also essential because they stop further damage that could cause more frizz.

Maintaining moisture levels and keeping your hair manageable can be achieved by including regular deep conditioning treatments in your hair care regimen. Recall that maintaining the best possible look for your hair and controlling frizz require consistency and patience.
