Where does the growth of hair start? Right, with locating others who share your beliefs. My adventure started a year ago when I registered on the Hairmaniac website.

First information: hair is thin, porous, wavy, and naturally not thick. It has also been harmed by amateur coloring. Gray hair that is difficult to color and light brown in tone. In addition, I would say that light hair should be dyed and dark hair should be bleached. This is the general approach I’ve always taken to hair care. Of course, the least expensive color, a blow dryer, and a straightener without a heat shield… For years, my hair was being destroyed.

What significant adjustments have I made to my hair regimen?

I never use hot water to wash my hair. My experiments led me to this conclusion. When I washed my hair in hot water, it seemed like all of the conditioner was removed rather than built up, as opposed to when I washed it in cool water. Don’t comb wet hair ever. It was quite challenging and unusual at first. It appeared that the hair would become a formless haystack after drying, but with the right maintenance, dried hair can be combed and still looks fantastic.

Never take off your clothes with wet hair. In the past, I used to indulge in such antics when I was rushing to work, especially during the summer, not realizing that wet hair absorbs soot, dust, and exhaust fumes from city streets more readily.

In cold weather, never leave the house without a hat. Nowadays, if I have to keep my hair done for a party or celebration in the winter, I always wear a hat or scarf.

Never leave your hair out in the hot sun, especially when you’re on vacation and near a beach where UV rays can cause severe, long-lasting damage. especially with the abundance of gorgeous bandanas, baseball caps, and hats available for purchase.

Never use rubber bands to pull hair for an extended period of time, and never use large hairpins with metal clips and rhinestones. My hair tangles, tears, and breaks because of all these accessories. I wear my hair in plastic clips only.

Use thermal hair dryers and styling tools sparingly. This year, I came to the conclusion that, thermal protection or not, I really don’t need it. Yes, there are instances when it can be troublesome when you have to quickly organize yourself, but that is the purpose of a hair dryer with a cold air supply. Never disregard your daily schedule, diet, or health. Like the body, healthy and beautiful hair requires enough protein, vitamins, a balanced diet, sound sleep, and a stress-free, peaceful existence. The final point still requires improvement.

Psychology

Maybe the most crucial thing to remember when taking care of your hair is to accept yourself as nature created you. I didn’t even glance at wavy or curly hair in my dream; instead, I was dreaming of straight, heavy, and cool hair. I reached for a comb and smoothing masks and creams.

And my dreams of having long, healthy hair were dashed by my long-term love for blondes. It took me nine months to come to terms with who I was. Very figurative, isn’t it? The first sign of difficulty on this challenging path was a color shift to a lighter shade that was more in line with nature. I persisted in trying to get my hair to the desired level of smoothness during this time, rejecting its natural structure and refusing to let the curls naturally occur.

Naturally, my hair improved greatly in terms of both appearance and quality, but it still fluffed up, curled in strange directions, and remained unmanageable. Subsequently, I started experimenting, initially with light waves, and later learned about the Curly Girl Method thanks to Hairmaniac.

The hardest step was the one after that. Changing to a dark brown-colored hairstyle represented embracing oneself.

Botany

Herbs drew me in with their incredible abilities to speed up growth, give my hair density I’ve never had, and dye without damaging it. It also makes it possible to create herbal masks without worrying about unintended or unexpected colors resulting from interactions with chemical dyes.

The balance eventually had to tip in favor of henna dyeing because there are so many benefits to light hair color compared to just one. The posts were studied for several months. It turns out that botany is a science; it’s intricate, fascinating, and demands research and experimentation.

You should start learning with something basic, like using a pre-made mixture, and then progressively incorporate new ingredients.

After using herbal masks and coloring, the hair has amazing quality! Mirror sheen, the desired density, and the appearance of heavy hair all indicate that I’m headed in the right direction.

Now that quality has been attained, let’s move on to the topic that will help me maintain and build on my little successes.

Chemistry

Now let’s discuss the most fascinating topic of all: organic and inorganic chemistry! I can’t give up inorganics entirely just yet, or perhaps I don’t even need to, even though CGM in its purest form implies the rejection of silicones and other synthetic ingredients in favor of everything natural?

My inner hamster doesn’t want to stop there, so my hand automatically reaches for new jars of the many hair cosmetics I own. One thing I’ve learned this year is that regularity and methodicalness in hair care are more important than the quantity of hair products one owns. Okay, let’s go in order.

Shampoos and conditioners

In terms of the quantity of products, this is one of the most comprehensive categories for hair care. Although I wash my hair every other day, I haven’t yet discovered the perfect shampoo and conditioner to use consistently. You have to switch out pairs as addiction, oversaturation, or inadequate cleaning develops over time. This is influenced by a number of variables, including hair type, season, air humidity, and air dryness.

This pair hydrates hair perfectly; on occasion, I even use the conditioner for a co-wash. Even for the scent alone, I will buy it again because it is so beautiful!

It’s very easy to oversaturate your hair with shampoo and conditioner, but this is genuinely nourishing. When I don’t have a planned nourishing mask, I use it. I’ve also noticed that my need for nutrition has decreased since I started using herbal hair dye and masks.

Recently, I purchased this shampoo in an attempt to use the curly method. I use too little of it to be able to judge it objectively, but I don’t think the manufacturer’s claims about the shampoo’s naturalness are true. It foams too easily. I’ll keep testing, but you have to give it a shot.

Masks

This is where the fanfares should sound! In addition to helping me grow my hair, this mask moisturizes flawlessly even with the addition of pepper extract.

The mask can hasten hair growth by up to 2.5 cm per month when used consistently! I use it as follows: use it twice a week with a thermal cap for a month, followed by a month off. I can’t recall the name of the jar, but I will buy more because I still have a long way to go with my hair.

My hair still has some damage from chemical dyes, so I need to use a keratin mask. I use it roughly every two weeks; more frequently is not necessary as it may cause breakage of the hair, which I do not require.

I purchased these two masks nearly at the start of my hair-maniac journey. As quickly as possible, I wanted to nourish, restore, and reanimate everything. Naturally, at this point, not a lot of nourishment is needed; using whatever you like once a week will suffice to keep your hair feeling comfortable. By the way, I enjoy the Kaaral Jelly scent.

I also keep a couple products from Fructis Superfood in my stash because I can’t live without them. However, based on numerous reviews, I will state up front that they are NOT appropriate for my curls! greatly conceals silky hair in any of the three application choices. However, they make it very simple to switch to a smoother hairstyle when you want to. They don’t take away from volume; hair is still loose and flowing. I’m impressed with the outcome; in all honesty, bananas are more nutrient-dense and gently weigh down hair, while goji is so light that hair just absorbs it. These two gorgeous fruits have a wonderful scent!

Leave-in care

Here, everything is easy. Right now, I’m really happy with the OLLIN moisturizing spray-active. Every time I wash, I use it on slightly dried hair after using all rinse-off products. It perfectly forms curls, detangles, softens the length, and moisturizes—even though I never use styling products. My favorite spray to date is this one, so I don’t see the need to search for something better.

Argan oil and keratin-infused fluid are my two finishing oils. I switch them around haphazardly based on my mood and desires. I really like the result; I’ve only trimmed the ends three times this year and I don’t think I need to get a new haircut because the ends are soft and don’t crunch. Both oils are top-notch!

In the "pie" of multiple layers of care, I also use Ollin black rice cream. Since I only use a comb before washing my hair and never after, it also conditions and aids in the separation of the hair when I use my fingers. Healthy skin

I use OLLIN scalp cleansing mousse all year long; I can’t remember which bottle I bought, but I really enjoy how my skin feels light and clean after using it! I appreciate that the mousse is incredibly comfortable to use and that there are no scrubbing particles. There’s no need to search elsewhere because it perfectly complements my skin tone. It’s my one use per week.

For a year, my companion is a hair growth tonic as well. I use it following my pepper mask. The desired density is almost reached because there has been a noticeable decrease in hair loss and extremely intense new hair growth throughout the head. Thankfully, I found my perfect product here, so I intend to keep purchasing both.

Every other day, I also still use darsonval for 10 to 12 sessions, alternating with pepper mask use. Regretfully, my ampoule care is still sporadic; I purchase Selective ampoules on occasion. My goal is to finally receive the much-awaited Kaaral Purify Restructure; in the meantime, I must partially sell my current inventory. Since my hair is still short, the products are slowly running out.

Mathematics

And now, my preferred mathematic How convenient it is to count the centimeters that grow with each hair length measurement!

I measured as best I could, fought with both wet and dry hair with a tape measure at the ready. The length from the hairline was 43 cm, from the crown – 36 cm. If you take into account three haircuts of the ends by a centimeter and a completely cut off "tail" – finally I managed to almost even out the length, then we get hair growth of as much as 18 centimeters per year! This is about 1.5 centimeters per month. This value is average and the hair, of course, grew faster at times, and slower at times. For example, in November-December I was sick and the hair, of course, was sick along with me During these two months there was no growth at all.
