I was just a curious reader looking for advice on how to take care of my unruly hair when I first came upon Hairmaniac. Like many others, I was daunted by the deluge of suggestions for products and advice. But as time went on, I noticed that the community’s personal tales and firsthand accounts drew me in. It seemed to be a place where I could relate to people who had similar daily struggles with taking care of their hair.
I started playing around with my own hair regimen as I followed different journeys. I noticed improvements gradually—my hair grew stronger, healthier, and easier to manage. My desire to tell my own story grew as I gained more knowledge. What began as a passing interest developed into a passion, which gave me the idea to start contributing to Hairmaniac.
I’m here to tell you about my journey now, not just about my hair change but also about how I changed from being a reader to a contributing member of the community. I hope that by sharing my hair journey, you will be motivated to take control of your own.

The main problems of my hair
Like many, I had long hair when I was younger. After honoring the tattoos, it was decided to get a haircut at the age of 13, a cascade cut, just like the members of this illustrious group. An unending race behind an unreachable length ensued after this. I really don’t want to go into detail about your early years right now because I want to write a comprehensive account of your hair. However, I still felt compelled to speak briefly about it.
My biggest hair issue since my later adolescent years was hair loss. It was that which kept me from growing at least a little bit of length; my hair would never go longer than just below my shoulders. Thin and thinning ends gave the hairstyle a depressing appearance.
On the advice of a trichologist, I attempted to address this issue using both at-home care and prescription products (this is also a separate chapter of my hair biography). A bob has always been the obvious and drastic solution to the issue at hand. The hair looked fantastic in a bob; it had volume and a dense cut that were sure to please.
Pregnancy was the only time to achieve the length with the least amount of hair loss (from mid-2020 to early 2021). I didn’t think about my issue during my pregnancy, but we all know what happens after. Until the end of 2022, my hair was actually actively falling out of me.

Regardless of the necessity, I enjoyed washing my hair every day when I was younger and had a bob. Naturally, the only criteria used to select shampoos were the enticing claims made on the labels. Likewise, with balms. I once learned of the horrible dangers of sulfates. This marked the start of the trend of washing hair with egg yolk and mustard powder, which, incidentally, some people said had positive results.
I was actively learning how to use castor oil and burdock at the same time. With such care, the hair only got worse: the ends grew and became porous, and the loss did not go down. Subsequently, there was a pseudo-organizational shift away from Siberiki’s natural state and the planet of organic matter. It goes without saying that these funds had no impact. aside from their masks, that is. I had a plan in place at the time of their use for applying masks as pre-pa (of course, I was unaware of this at the time). I preferred using these products for extended periods of time without washing them. The hair felt nice after it dried.)
That falling issue, though, still bothered me. Here, Johnson’s children’s theory of a mechanical factor in hair loss took the place of Siberiki and organics. T.e. My hair falls more when I work on my scalp and hair heavily. I can still clearly recall the time I washed my hair, focusing only on the crown with a light soap suds in the hopes of preventing further hair loss. Years later, I realize that all I was doing was aggravating my own situation.
It was only recently that I started to feel the issue of dry ends, which was typically resolved drastically by cutting. Yes, silicone oils, which are leave-in products, were always a part of my care regimen, but I was never able to use them effectively.
I am really happy that I found this website because of the combination of the issues that were mentioned.
My experience with hair has involved a personal metamorphosis; from someone looking for guidance to someone with a voice in the hair care industry. I learned many lessons and gained advice from reading Hairmaniac, which motivated me to share my personal experiences. I went from just taking advice from others to experimenting and creating my own routines and techniques over time. As a writer, I’m eager to share the knowledge I’ve learned with others to support them as they navigate their own hair care journeys.
Reasons for coming to the site
I stumbled upon a hair blogger by accident at the start of 2022’s summer. I had no idea they even existed until that very moment. As per usual, I followed this girl’s recommendations and bought everything in one go. A short while later, I discovered that everything she suggested did not fit me and that the products she suggested were essentially advertisements.
There was, of course, helpful information as well. For instance, regarding certain product actives or composition reading. However, a blogger is still a blogger, and most of the time the content is surface-level; to learn more about taking care of yourself, you’ll need to purchase books, guides, etc. The inner toad had no money for such things.
That’s where the hunt for more comprehensive data started. It so happened that I experienced severe hair loss during this time. Despite my lack of faith in trichologists, I refrained from seeing one for a minor reason. I read posts about issues that were similar to mine with great interest and gained a lot of knowledge from this site. I discovered the potential causes of my thinning here.
Stage | Description |
Reader | I started as a reader, searching for ways to take care of my hair. I followed tips and advice from the Hairmaniac community, learning about different products and techniques. |
Experimentation | Over time, I experimented with various hair routines and products, trying to find what worked best for my hair type. I began to notice improvements and felt more confident in my hair care. |
Sharing my experience | As I gained more knowledge and experience, I started sharing my own tips and stories in the community. It was exciting to see how others benefited from my advice. |
Becoming an author | Eventually, I took the leap and became an author on Hairmaniac. Now, I create content based on my personal journey, helping others on their hair care path. |
In retrospect, I can say that the transition from Hairmaniac reader to author has been genuinely life-changing. I began with a basic interest in hair care and experimented with other people’s advice. My enthusiasm developed over time, and I started experimenting with different goods and methods to see which ones worked best for me.
Like those who inspired me, I felt compelled to share my experiences as my confidence grew. I was able to meet people who were traveling the same path as me through writing for Hairmaniac, and we were able to share advice and experiences together. Seeing how my story could assist someone else in their own hair care journey has been immensely fulfilling.
I feel more a part of the community now than I did before, as an author. Though curiosity may have been the beginning of the path, it has developed into a passionate love of growth, learning, and sharing. I’m eager to keep exploring the world of hair care since I know there’s always more to learn.
