How I deal with hair porosity? My care rules

One of those factors that can significantly alter the way your hair feels and looks is hair porosity. I was completely unaware for a long time that it was something I needed to be aware of. However, everything changed after I determined the porosity level of my hair. It made sense to me why some products gave my hair life and others worked wonders for me.

Managing hair porosity requires more than just applying general advice. It all comes down to figuring out what your particular hair needs and modifying your regimen accordingly. I’ve learned a few important hair care guidelines over the years that have really helped to maintain the health and vibrancy of my hair.

I’ll discuss my own strategies for addressing hair porosity in this post. These hair care guidelines can help you maximize the natural texture and shine of your hair, regardless of its porosity—low, medium, or high.

Hair Porosity Type My Care Rules
Low Porosity Use lightweight oils, avoid heavy products, and apply heat to help products absorb better.
Medium Porosity Use a balanced mix of moisture and protein treatments, and avoid overloading hair with products.
High Porosity Focus on deep conditioning, use leave-in conditioners, and seal in moisture with oils or butters.

Description of my hair

It is important to clarify what preliminary data I am working with first:

  • Porous
  • Fluffy
  • Light
  • Can curl very slightly
  • Dry type length
  • Normal roots prone to oiliness
  • Thin, but medium density
  • Prone to breakage and splitting
  • A huge number of uncontrollable sticking out hair does not allow you to calmly look in the mirror

The photo captures my hair’s porous structure in all its glory.

Styling porous strands can be challenging. They are difficult to comb, dull, drooping, and unruly. Any length of haircut quickly becomes unattractive when even slightly damp.

Getting porous hair at least somewhat in order is a true torture, as you already know. It’s hard to dye hair that is dry and fluffy. Such hair will no longer be beautifully shaded and uniform. The entire application of dye is impeded by the elevated upper layer. Thus, after two weeks, the color starts to fade.

Porous hair needs to be thoroughly and consistently cared for.

Basics of my care

I wash my hair correctly

To be honest, I was shocked to hear that some girls really don’t know how to wash their hair. From the outside, this procedure appears to be gentle cleansing rather than laundry washing.

Rules apply even to simple tasks like washing your hair.

I always comb through my hair completely before washing, and then I just go straight to the washing part after having fun with the process to my heart’s content.

I use warm, moderately-temperature water; I don’t use hot or cold water. I work the shampoo into my palms a little at first, then I apply it solely to the roots and give it a light massage. I only gently distribute the foam over the hair; the length of the hair is washed by the foam as it flows down it. It should be mentioned that after washing my hair once, I step back from the roots by 10 to 15 cm and use a rinse-off care product on towel-dried hair. These can be concentrates, ampoules, masks, and, less frequently, balms. I use cool water to rinse my hair—not freezing cold.

I use the right comb and safe hair accessories

I take extreme care when handling wet hair because it is especially brittle and prone to breaking at this point. I use a towel to gently and carefully squeeze my hair, then I divide the strands into smaller ones with my fingers and let it air dry naturally. I give my hair a light, careful comb over. I believe that the secret to having long, thick hair is careful combing.

My two best assistants in this situation are here.

A wooden comb with rare teeth: it’s critical to keep an eye on the teeth’s condition to ensure burrs don’t develop.

Since I want to unwind and quit taking care of these wooden burrs!

For home and sleep, I always braid a loose braid, which helps preserve my hair

Hair breakage, split ends, and thinning are decreased when there is less tangling and mechanical stress on the hair. I frequently perform a "gul" because, in my opinion, it is more practical because the hair doesn’t stick to my back or try to get into pots and pans or interfere with any of my daily household tasks.

I trim the ends of my hair in a timely manner

There are conflicting emotions about this point. I really enjoy this process, but I also really dislike it. My favorite hairstyle is a clean, straight cut, which I adore touching. However, each time, I get really anxious just before the procedure starts. I watch the haircut process with the jealousy of a wild cat protecting her cubs because I still haven’t found my hairstylist. Correcting the hairdresser all the time.

-No reduction in size. Not thinning at all. -I recognize. -Don’t underestimate me! I simply give the ends a clean cut. -Girl -It was, I think, 1 cm.

Thus, throughout. I am a HAIRDRESSER; someone else is afraid of spiders, someone of heights. What a nightmare.

Vitamins and nutrition

The foundation of gorgeous curls is diet. Given its increased vulnerability to breakage, dryness, and split ends, thin hair requires thorough maintenance. A woman’s outward look is a reflection of her internal health; only a well-balanced diet that includes adequate amounts of protein, vitamins, and microelements can enhance the beauty of her strands.

I make an effort to incorporate the following goods into my diet once a week or more:

Fatty seafood. Polyunsaturated fatty acids, which are beneficial for skin, hair, and nails, are found in salmon and mackerel. Dry hair and facial flaking are the results of their deficiency. Physicians recommend taking fish oil twice a year for residents of areas where sea fish are scarce.

Complete grains. The primary foods that contain B vitamins, such as panthenol and biotin, are whole grain cereals and bran bread. Adding bran to fermented milk beverages is a great way to add beneficial elements to your diet. This is what I prefer to do in place of dinner.

Crazy. Natural sources of zinc and selenium—two essential microelements for healthy, glossy curls—include hazelnuts, cashews, and almonds. Your hair will become more supple and smooth thanks to omega-3 and omega-6. Since nuts are a fairly heavy food, I try to eat them in the first half of the day.

Hens. Their readily digested protein and biotin content are essential for hair follicle strengthening. I also feel satisfied and full after eating a boiled egg for breakfast, at least until lunch.

Products made from fermented milk. Large amounts of calcium and protein, which are present in kefir, cottage cheese, and yogurt, can stop hair thinning and loss. The body will gain additional benefits if bran or nuts are added.

Our bodies are reflected in the beauty of our hair. Lack of vitamins in our diet is the main cause of many hair issues. I make an effort to consume a lot of fruits, vegetables, fermented dairy products, and chicken dishes because they are high in protein.

Many girls lament their slow hair growth in spite of expedited procedures; this, my dears, is because they are deficient in vitamins. If there are insufficient nutrients to support the body’s essential operations, the body cannot direct those nutrients toward hair growth.

I also try to have two or three glasses of water every day, and I suggest you to follow suit.

Scalp cleansing

I make an effort to remember this crucial point. We wash our faces and bodies with great care, but what about our scalps? It is subjected to pollution from both the environment and the silicone masks we use on our hair. For me, a fairly large "gull" can remain on my skin for approximately one hour. Also, I prefer silicone-based masks that are thicker. If there were no scrub, where would I be?

This is exactly what I miss in the summertime: a wonderful friend from Kapous settled on my shelf after I finished the Kaaral scrub and emptied the Siberica bottle. Pleasant cleansing followed by cooling.

Using finishing leave-in products

LEAVE-IN PRODUCTS: lotions, oils, sprays, and fluids.

I stopped using leave-in products a couple of years ago for an entirely unclear reason. I also disregarded products like oil for the ends and hydrating spray.

And all to little avail! Leave-in products soften, shine, smooth, and add a protective layer to the hair. This last step helps to grow hair centimeters, shines, and maintains the health of the hair.

Yes, a good leave-in can produce a WOW effect—my favorite density, instantaneous softening of hair, and shine.

In terms of my structure, hair takes oils beautifully as a finishing touch. I like it best when my hair lies on my back like a thick sheet, hugging and enveloping me, even though it’s more about me. Fluids can’t handle the task because they’re too light.

For a very long time, oil from Matrix has been my constant and unchangeable favorite:

I get everything I love from it, including shine, density, and keeping the ends in their correct shape.

I carry a moisturizing spray with me at all times. I have nothing but positive things to say about Estel’s two-phase Kapous and orange spray, but right now, Olyn’s moisturizing spray is my fave.

I get a conditioning effect from it in addition to moisturizing, which is great for long hair.

Now the most interesting part – intensive hair care

Selection of makeup. Gentle cleaning and moisturizing are essential daily treatments for thin hair. This kind of curl quickly gets dirty and loses volume, so buying cleaning and care products is something you should really consider.

Even though I make an effort to keep my nutrition, moisturizing, and restoration in balance, I tend to favor rich, nourishing products. My jutting hair can only be tamed into an acceptable shape by them.

My favorite products right now are still Matrix.

The complete phrase:

  • MATRIX OIL WONDERS shampoo with micro-drops of Moroccan argan oil
  • MATRIX OIL WONDERS conditioner with micro-drops of Moroccan argan oil
  • Finishing hair oil MATRIX Oil WONDER INDIAN AMLA

I concentrate on using moisturizing products, staying away from heat styling, and scheduling frequent deep conditioning treatments into my regimen to control the porosity of my hair. By following these instructions, my hair stays healthy and is kept manageable, hydrated, and smooth.

Taking care of my hair’s porosity has become a crucial component of my regimen. I’ve been able to choose the correct products and treatments to keep my locks strong and healthy by being aware of my hair’s unique needs.

The key has been consistency. Deep conditioning, gentle handling, and routine moisturizing have significantly improved the appearance and feel of my hair. Finding the right product for my hair has been a journey, but the effort has been worthwhile.

Since every person’s hair type is different, what works for me may need to be adjusted for others. However, you can find a routine that maintains the best possible appearance for your hair if you are patient and pay attention to its needs.
