Step 1: Cleansing
Shampoo
Plant dye henna works best on hair that is already natural. Hair that has been freed from "old care" has coloring that is more uniform, intense, and durable. Thus, the film-forming agents from the prior care must first be removed from the hair.
You can accomplish this by using various shampoos. However, I felt that a deep cleaning shampoo was in order. It happened by happenstance. As of the time of publication, the care is intensive, salon-quality.
I don’t apply SHGO prior to every henna design.
Any "stripping" shampoo will do. Kaaral Purify Hydra (250 ml/670 rubles) is what I suggest. Though it "eats" cosmetics from the hair with a avarice, this shampoo is not deep cleaning. Strong shine is an added bonus.
Shampoo for stripping and dressing
Angel Professional shampoo (250 ml; 448 rubles) is what I use. It’s available to me on tap. Based on the summary from Seaweed extract is present in the product. I let my hair dry naturally and stop using makeup.

Step 2: Coloring
What kind of henna
I use different henna. There is no single ideal one yet) I am in search and am happy to try a new one for myself every time. Now there will be henna "Bride of the Sultan" chestnut-copper from Morocco (Who still remembers the TV series "Clone"?). 
This 100% Lawsonia plant powder. Without any admixture of Basma or other coloring herbs. The ability to dye hair not red/ginger, but chestnut is explained by its origin. The composition of the soil on which Lavsonia grew up directly affects the resulting shade. 
Henna in paper and transparent bags fastened with metal paper clips. Sold in packing 100 g. I needed ~ 80 gp for the length of the shoulders of the average density.
How I cook henna paste
Gradually add warm water to the powder until the consistency of the paste becomes liquid and comfortable for applying to the hair. I leave the hen to infuse for several hours. The longer the pasta insists, the more the pigment "gives". This time insisted 2.5 hours. 
I do not cover a plate with a paste and put in a closet. This is improvisation) under the influence of light and air (I have no light, but with air), henna is oxidized, a chemical reaction occurs and this also affects the shade.
I add oil to the paste before use. I have an unrefined olive. At what stage to add (or not) the oil is also improvisation. You can do this at the very beginning. Oil really helps me with such masks. Nourishes hair and softens the drying properties of powders.
How I make a mask with henna
Apply the paste to dry, relatively clean hair (on the second day after washing). Along frequent partings. I thoroughly coat my head and hair along the entire length. Fix the hair at the crown. Just in a bun. Holds on by itself. 
I don’t cover my head with anything – again, I improvise) Once I read somewhere that if you don’t cover the henna mask with anything, that is, don’t restrict oxygen access, then the shade of your hair will not be red, but brown, and not warm, but cold. This is all ambiguous, individual and relative 
I leave the mask on for 2 hours and wash it off with shampoo. Afterwards I use an acidic conditioner with a low pH. I have Angel (2 l/1429 rub) on tap. And your usual leave-in care. Spray, cream (I have already talked about them here). Let my hair dry naturally.
Hair immediately after the henna mask
Immediately after the henna mask, my hair is a very bright red. As if I had been bleached and dyed wildly red. After about two hours, I noticed that the shade had begun to darken and “calm down”. This happens during the first 2-3 days. During this time, it is not advisable to wash your hair to give the shade the best chance to show itself and take hold. 
This is the next day. Natural light. No frizz. No stiffness or dryness. Hair is elastic, silky, smooth and shiny. Color and shine look different in different lighting. The more light, the brighter the shine. The less light, the deeper the color.

You had the option to complete the coloring. Hair lies well, is dense, shiny, elastic, soft, and does not stand out. What more are you in need of? I want my hair to be "full."
