Of course, browsing through marketplaces was the first thing I did. However, the ones that caught my attention either had a lot of reviews or contradicting ones.

And if I hadn’t discovered a tint mask from an unidentified manufacturer named Fara in an offline store, I would have continued to think. Then there’s a spark, a storm, and I pay at the register.

At first, the packaging didn’t give me much confidence; it looked like the mask could flow, and the view was generally quite erratic. However, I can guarantee you that the mask is perfectly packaged because my son performed a crash test. The jar has withstood multiple falls, but it has never cracked from impact and has no chips.

However, I didn’t detect any chocolate scent. I detect a paint smell that is cosmetically chemical in nature rather than any particular notes or perfume composition. However, the mask smells good to everyone, so maybe this is my body’s response to a particular ingredient.

My impressions

In order to compare the outcomes more easily, I was able to color my hair both before and after. So let’s start by examining my hair before:

First use

As you can see in the pictures, the mask seemed to have a warm direction when I was applying it, but the shade looked cold on my hair, which is how I wanted it.

Thus, following the initial use, I obtained the following outcome:

The outcome is not too horrible if you do not examine closely. But I can’t resist taking a close look. After examining the outcome, I saw that the shade fell more and left a darker spot on the longest strands in the bangs area.

I chose to give the mask another go in spite of its flaws because I was curious about how dark the shade could go.

Second use

I chose to leave the mask on longer the next time because I wanted a more vibrant and intense shade. Nevertheless, the exposure period was no longer than ten minutes.

To put it mildly, I became upset when I saw the outcome after washing off the mask and drying my hair. From one angle, the color appears relatively uniform and pleasing, but from another, it appears awful.

The color did not lay down at all in some areas and was much lighter; in contrast, the ends had a darker shade that went into a blackish-purple area. I knew something needed to be cleaned off after wearing it for two days. I was left with only SHGO in my head, so I used it to wash my hair and attempt to rectify the outcome of my experiment.

And it was beneficial. SHGO did not entirely remove the dark pigment, but the color errors were less noticeable.

Conclusions

I observed both the advantages and disadvantages of the method after putting the mask to my hair.

Let’s begin with the advantages:

2. Durability – my color lasted longer than the stated 5 hair washes. Perhaps this is due to the fact that I have shampoos without SLES, but it is still a big plus that color renewal is not required every wash.
3. Cool undertone.

However, there were drawbacks as well:

1. Can ruin a towel – if after the first use I blamed myself for not washing off the toning mask well, then after repeated use I encountered this again, although I washed it off for a long time and efficiently.
2. Dries out hair with frequent use.

I felt that the mask would be able to open up much more readily on darker hair. However, I came to the realization that I would never be able to get the right shade without traditional coloring because my bleached hair is so bright and applying dark pigment to it is so difficult.
