Hair on clips – my solution during the growing period

The process of growing out your hair can be difficult and annoying. It frequently takes time, and it can be difficult to feel confident about your appearance in the uncomfortable transitional phases. That’s where clip-on hair extensions come in quite handy.

Choosing hair

As I mentioned before, I only gave natural hair consideration. Indeed, synthetic ones are significantly less expensive (up to 20 euros for a set on Amazon), but only in certain cases. It is evident to the touch that they are not genuine, and styling presents challenges.

Mella and True Hair were the two manufacturers whose hair was displayed in the store-salon. We only looked at True Hair because the first ones were slightly less expensive, but there wasn’t a shade that worked for me.

The consultant attached the hair, chose the color, and styled it. and I wouldn’t take it off after that. My skepticism regarding the high price (the fixed cost of 320 euros) vanished right away.

There were three choices: 40, 50, and 60 centimeters. However, 60 cm would have made an excessively large difference in its length. I subsequently acquired five 50 cm long strands: two strands for every five clips and three strands for every two clips. It’s enough for me, but you can take more or less if you’d like, or buy more later.

Attachment and styling

The strands hold their shape very well – the curls almost always remain until washing. I wear them in curls (I curl them on a Dyson styler), since in a straight form the difference with my own is noticeable. To wear them with straight hair unnoticeably, you need to profile your ends and go over your hair every time with a flat iron (straightening with a Dyson styler brush is not enough). Since both thinning and ironing will definitely not contribute to the process of growing your hair, I curl curls that mask the border well. I have been using Dyson for more than six months every day (with thermal protection), and I have not noticed any deterioration in the condition of my hair, so I consider the method quite safe.

After that, I curl my hair to make it look like the fake strands. After washing the false strands, I curl them together with my hair for the first time, which helps them maintain their shape. In the event that the false strands’ curls abruptly straighten, I curl them too and place them on my head alongside my own.

I don’t care about the curls because giving your hair the proper direction is more important than creating a gorgeous style. I comb the hair after it’s curled.

I then sew on the fake threads. The only thing is that I don’t comb my hair because the hairpins stay in place quite nicely without it, but there are plenty of videos online that show you how to do this. In general, the time I spend styling my hair each day has increased by no more than 2 to 5 minutes, given that I frequently do curls and the process of attaching the strands takes a few minutes. When your hair is growing awkwardly, clip-in hair extensions are the ideal fix. They provide a quick and simple way to add volume, length, and style without requiring a commitment. They make the process more bearable and enjoyable by enabling you to try out various looks while you wait for your natural hair to grow.

Care

Regarding care, there are a few key recommendations:

1. You can"t sleep with hairpins. You must remove your hair before going to bed;
2. You need to wash your hair about once every two weeks, like your own (shampoo, masks, conditioner, leave-in products). Apply all products from top to bottom, masks and conditioner should not get on the wires on which the hair and hairpins are attached. Dry only naturally, without a hair dryer, radiator, direct sunlight, in a suspended state or on a flat surface. Just like your own hair, you cannot twist, rub with a towel, etc.;
3. When using hot appliances, be sure to use heat protection;
4. Store so that they do not tangle, comb after removing. Always comb, like your own hair – starting from the ends, do not tear or pull out anything;
5. You cannot straighten or curl it constantly. If your hair was curled and you want it all straight, you need to wash it, and not straighten the curled strands with a hairdryer / iron.

When you’re in the awkward stage of growing out your hair, hair extensions on clips can make all the difference in the world. They give you instant length and volume, so you can switch up your look without having to wait for your hair to grow.

Clip-in extensions are ideal for people who don’t want to make a long-term commitment because they are simple to use and offer a temporary solution. You have flexibility and control over how you look because you can take them off whenever you want.
