Hair care on the beach. Protecting the ends of porous hair from breakage in the summer of 2025. New rules for disciplining unruly strands

While summertime is great for lounging on the beach and enjoying the sun, it can be harsh on hair. Hair that is porous or prone to breaking can become dry, brittle, and unruly due to the combination of wind, sun, and saltwater. A little extra care is needed during this season to protect your ends and keep your hair healthy.

In 2023, new methods and supplies have surfaced to help handle even the most challenging hair types while shielding them from summertime damage. It’s critical to use these modern techniques if you battle with frizz, breakage, or dryness in order to maintain healthy, lustrous hair throughout the summer.

There are many methods to control unruly strands and stop breakage at the ends, from protective oils and serums to easy styling advice. These useful suggestions can help you maintain your hair at its best all summer long, whether you’re swimming in the sea or just relaxing on the beach.

Topic Details
Hydration Use leave-in conditioners to keep hair moist and protected from saltwater and sun exposure.
UV Protection Apply hair products with UV filters to prevent damage from harmful sun rays.
Gentle Detangling Use a wide-tooth comb to detangle wet hair, preventing breakage and damage to porous ends.
Wear a Hat A hat not only shields your scalp from the sun but also helps protect the ends from drying out.
Avoid Heat Styling Minimize the use of heat styling tools, as they can further weaken sun-exposed hair.
Oil Treatment Apply lightweight hair oil to seal in moisture and smooth frizz on porous strands.

The reason for hair deterioration based on the experience of summer 2025

In June 2022, I went swimming for the first time in a nearby pond. I then mostly used Vieso products. Environmental factors were not taken into account when balancing the care. I didn’t take any extra precautions to safeguard the canvas when I went to the beach. In my opinion, using organic makeup and coloring would also work well in this situation.

I didn’t use any products on my hair:

  • before swimming
  • after contact with water.

After summer vacation, my hair felt surprisingly soft for the first time. lustrous and ultra-soft. I thought the pond’s water was excellent. I realized later that it was Vieso. The care that had built up in the hair was activated and produced such a magical effect upon contact with water.

I didn’t realize right away that this was the case. The strands became over-moistened very quickly and strongly. I had to alter the care entirely. Chemistry made way for "silicone" professors. Also, the soft hair effect that results from bathing is maintained.

I was misled by this experience to believe that hair deteriorates less in freshwater than it does in the ocean.

Repercussions

It started to get really uncomfortable about 5 to 7 centimeters from the hair’s ends.

All you want to do is label them as "withered."

Why did it take place?

Since everything happened at the same time, I find it challenging to distinguish between what happened and over-moistening. I’m assuming that the hair "lost" conditioning after coming into contact with water, even fresh water. It is thought that at an alkaline pH, the cuticle scales rise and open the cortex. "Open," making the hair less shielded from harmful outside influences.

  • loses moisture in dry air
  • absorbs too much moisture in humidity
  • more fragile before friction

Brittleness, dullness, and stiffness are all brought on by this.

I think that the canvas deteriorated quickly due to a combination of factors, such as water contact without additional conditioning, humidity, wind, sun, and uneven maintenance. I also got bonus henna and a new haircut. But the ends turned from soft to hard in a matter of months. For me, this was out of the ordinary.

A healing mask and aesthetic treatments helped to restore equilibrium. My hair fell into Vieso’s arms as the heating season arrived. I managed to avoid getting a haircut until spring as a result.

Following a string of hair loss, the minus 15 cm of length was justified by large gaps. Hair loss is currently considered normal. Density is still not entirely restored. I’m getting a 10 cm haircut soon. Nevertheless, I don’t want to let my hair’s ends deteriorate.

Safety measures

I’m not sure what the pH of the nearby reservoir is, but I doubt I can change it. However, I can modify my current regimen to suit the updated environmental factors surrounding my hair.

I will admit that in December of last year, I gave my summer care some thought. The transformations my hair underwent in the first summer in a typical climate astounded me much. My hair especially needs conditioners during the warm months. And every variety:

  1. rinse-off conditioner
  2. leave-in cream
  3. serum for the ends
  4. spray

If a conditioner and one leave-in care unit were sufficient for my length in a dry climate, then having a complete set is preferable in humid weather. This helps to preserve the capricious porous structure on days when you choose not to wash your hair, in addition to ensuring better obedience of it after shampooing.

Following the crisis and move, my options for cosmetic brands were more constrained. There was no time and no safety net for a "pig in a poke." I needed reasonably priced, dependable products. Let me introduce myself: I’m Angel Professional. I can trust Angel to take care of my hair in both humid and dry climates, regardless of how inquisitive other brands may be.

Leave-in conditioner spray for hair Angel Professional Fantasy Party Goddess

Recalling my thoughts on products I had tried before, I decided to go with the Divine spray from the Fantasy Party styling line. I’ve had it on my shelf already. I am aware of the product’s large fan base. And in appropriate circumstances, I have personally suggested it several times. However, it was not my style in a dry climate.

Fantasy Gathering Divine spray has a powerful conditioning effect. uses a film to conceal the hair. It becomes shiny, smooth, and obedient as a result. significantly reduces high porosity. What humidity requires. Strong hydration was my top priority in the extremely dry air. I was taking other products at the time for my care.

This time, adding Fantasy Party spray to summer care would be perfect. I was going to use it to condition my hair right out of the pond. However, it wasn’t available at the time of the sizable order, which was mostly composed of Vieso. Later, I wanted to purchase more. I then created a spray out of the Angel Professional rinse-off conditioner with collagen after tasting it so strongly.

Conditioner for all hair types Angel Professional

An extremely well-liked item. Even with my high porosity, it was too much in a dry climate. It formed a dense layer. It attempted to shield the strands from the absent humidity. After trying it, I didn’t buy it again. These feelings were what made me think, "It’s perfect for summer care." My favorite brand’s huge hit has returned to my shelf.

It took us a while to understand one another. I used half of the bottle on my daughters’ hair before I figured out how cool my current regimen is! The product was easy to use and didn’t cause any problems or confusion for me. It arrived at an inopportune moment. Either my hair was styled with utterly inappropriate products. Over-moisturizing was either anticipated. However, everything worked like clockwork with Angel conditioner once the hair stabilized and the care improved.

Yes, in a humid environment, the same film performed as expected; in a dry one, it literally did not absorb into my hair. The strands are greatly smoothed, weighed down, thickened, and straightened by the conditioner. The hair gets easier to handle. A styling memory element exists. I’m still not sure how to solve this. The success of the waves holding up varies.

The strong dressing effect of this conditioner means that after washing their hair, my daughters’ less porous hair doesn’t need leave-in care.

I feel a little shocked. The children manage without serum and cream.

Spray

For more than a year and a half, only the oldest child has not had her ends cut. The length has had three episodes of severe hair loss in the past three years. Throughout this time, the cut has become fairly frayed. We’re not running to the hairdresser because she doesn’t seem bothered by it. I used a separate bottle to mix our conditioner with tap water (in any arbitrary proportions) and applied it to them 10-15 cm from the ends. The homemade spray immediately helped to control the cut. Not recovered, but faked. Its tips lie better and are less confused.

Oksana’s hair is not perfectly straight in the picture after using the collagen conditioner spray. However, generally speaking, with the care that it enhances. Here, a ponytail follows a braid without being combed. Following my next experiment with a new product (Maraes Renew combined with Vieso oil).

A distinction exists. For instance, in this instance, the Divine spray’s diamond shine is absent. It’s random how much weight is assigned. This is definitely an amateur’s method, in my opinion. I won’t suggest it. If anything, though, I told you about it.

My impression is that the Angel conditioner perfectly smoothes, tames, and gathers hair into a single canvas when it is balanced. Although I’m not sure exactly what happens to the cuticle, I appreciate this kind of submission. It is useful after coming into contact with water. So the spontaneous spray helped me take care of my hair while I was at the beach.

I swim with my hair up in a bun. As soon as I leave the beach, I take my bun down and spray the entire length.

Cream

I’m ready to cover my porous hair in conditioners of all kinds and configurations when it’s humid. Comments like "Your hair is only beautiful because it has tons of silicone" no longer make me feel embarrassed.

Creamy textures are adored by my hair structure. I tried the conditioner as a leave-in cream, of course. That was the very unfortunate time for the product that it happened. I was not happy with the outcome, so I never gave it another go.

A leave-in cream from Angel leave-in conditioner with collagen is not my best experiment. You can understand it, even though I didn’t. a method for beginners.

Wish list

I created three small batches of my own spray. I blend using my eyes. I’m pretty sure what ratios work well for me. Although it’s an intriguing experience, you really should have a finished product. I therefore included the divine spray in my summertime hair shopping list.

I am running low on the leave-in cream products I still have. Although you’re probably sick of seeing them in my posts, I truly do like them. I’d like to give something new a go. I’m thinking of a cream from my preferred Angel Professional. series of experts.

The company introduced two new items last year: cream and cream spray. No in-depth reviews exist. According to its composition and intended use, Angel Expert "16 in 1" seems to be a better fit for me than Hair Elxr. It has a denser, more concentrated consistency.

Should I apply anything to the length before swimming

I attempted to use a "silicone" leave-in conditioner on my hair prior to the sea. Additionally, use Vieso oil with argan on kids. Even with high humidity, children’s hair care back then was organic. Everything went smoothly, like silk.

I continue to rely on masks’ long-lasting effects when it comes to fresh water. I don’t use any special preparation beforehand. On the second day after washing, when it’s really wet from the rain, I can pop the entire length of the spray. This disciplined me right away. but only momentarily. Furthermore, this measure is not a humidity barrier on its own.

I’m testing one organic product right now, and I probably will be until the end of the summer. In addition to checking it for protection when swimming in a pond, I want to make sure. The output lacks professionalism. I am aware that there is a risk involved. But until I give it a try, I won’t know. It offers absolutely no conditioning. For this reason, I think it’s crucial to add a spray after the pond.

Should I wash my hair after the pond

I came to the conclusion that shampoo does not always need to be from the "sunny" series based on my experience traveling by boat. It must simply be.

To get rid of any salt residue, the idea is to rinse your hair as soon as possible with sea water.

I was able to keep my long hair soft and under control thanks to it. I didn’t trim the ends when I got back from the sea.

This is considerably simpler when dealing with fresh water. I won’t claim that something from it doesn’t get tangled in my hair, but the feelings are entirely different from those of sea water. The hair does not "glass over" after swimming in the pond as it would after a sea swim. does not become frozen as in styling. On the beach, there are summer showers, but the water is cold. I’m not a big fan. I might therefore skip washing my hair after unwinding on the neighborhood beach.

Sun protection

It seems implausible to me that you need to wear sun protection when living in an urban area.

As I studied the figure’s construction, one thing caught my attention. Changes in the environment have accompanied human evolution.

His form is an apparatus. featuring a large number of mechanisms, labs, and storage spaces. Even when it’s asleep, it works on optimizing itself every second. The quadriceps are not used by an individual in daily life; rather, the body uses them up. Moreover, the thigh’s anterior surface "melts." And so forth. It is inconceivable that a "machine" this intelligent could lack a defense system against the damaging effects of sunlight.

You can read an explanation of this process—how freckles form and how a tan is achieved—in open sources. They show that the skin has successfully shielded the body from UV radiation exposure beyond what is typically experienced by the body. Novel, atypical impacts yield novel defenses. The tan deepens and the freckles grow.

Of course, hair is not the same as skin. But it’s an appendage of its. I still cannot think of hair as separate from the skin and the entire body, even though the visible portion of the hair has conditionally lost its connection to the scalp. Regarding the composition, I wouldn’t even consider looking at it if I didn’t know anything about the brand.

I believe that if the body is in better overall health, the body can "produce" healthier, stronger, and more attractive hair even in the follicle.

What if hair that is initially healthy is less prone to UV radiation damage? Diminishes less?

In my opinion, nutrition is crucial in this context. In my diet, I aim for balance. I pay more attention to product labels than hair masks when it comes to composition. I’m attempting to locate at least a little bit of manufacturer information. I follow my feelings (in my abdomen).

It’s been ten months since I started growing out my hair color. So far, I haven’t experienced any disappointment with it. I have brighter natural hair now than I did when I was malnourished and slept poorly for a long time. Furthermore, and this is a crucial factor in my opinion, it retains its brightness the day after washing. I can tell that I’m heading in the right direction because of this indicator.

In the summer of 2023, I’m betting on Ayurveda and a healthy lifestyle. By fall, I’ll check to see if my hair burns out.

A diet that is balanced ensures that the body gets the necessary amount of nutrients every day. without going overboard.

In order to prevent breakage of porous ends and take care of your hair while at the beach in 2023, you will need to adjust to new hair care guidelines. To retain moisture and protect your hair from sun damage, use UV protection, hydrating sprays, and leave-in conditioners. To avoid split ends, pay special attention to feeding the ends and use light oils or creams to smooth out unkempt hair. Throughout the hot months, these minor adjustments will keep your hair healthy, manageable, and silky.

Summer observations

I still find it hard to believe that summer has finally arrived because spring felt like it lasted forever. The seasons flow into one another seamlessly in Stavropol. The way one flows into another is invisible to you. Half of June was gone. Time to share my summertime observations, I think.

I wrecked my hair so badly last summer that not even henna could save it. I also believed it to be all-powerful. I’m open to new experiences and unconventional methods this year—as long as my hair stays gorgeous!

The most crucial elements that, in my situation, influence how my hair looks in the summer

  • high porosity structure
  • no salon procedures, no henna
  • normal air humidity
  • good tap water
  • good food, balanced diet
  • sun, wind

It has been nearly a year since I last had henna. Hasn’t my hair fallen out yet? It has fallen apart in part. This is the area that was unable to tolerate the care imbalance from the previous summer. The ends began to split apart. Following the haircut, it got simpler. For now, I use oils in place of herbs.

The structure’s porosity has become apparent. Its benefits and drawbacks are now known. I enjoy the grandeur of nature. But you must use it with caution. Stiff sticking tips will result from hair that is too "open." Furthermore, it’s not always visually stunning. The perfect care that was developed for other conditions has broken down because of this. I am announcing new guidelines.

Comb immediately after washing your hair

I’ve been talking for a while about not combing my hair, and because of this, along with other measures, I’ve been able to deal with brittleness and grow the length. It seems odd that I am acting in the opposite way now. However, things are now different.

The canvas went in stripes after becoming just loose without the added benefits of henna, which I even found cute. I had had enough of this. It turned out that the stripes would not be as noticeable if you combed your hair while it was still wet. For me, this was a significant finding.

On the one hand On the other Priority
Less friction, but stripes Almost no stripes, but the risk of additional damage is higher Between striped long hair and beautiful, but less long, I chose the second.

A moment surrounded by tangles

My hair is not confused while I’m washing it or right after. Combing without any problems at all. Teezer Comb in Tangle. I’m hoping there won’t be much harm. I hardly ever pick up a comb during the day. I try to do more with my fingers. If my makeup application is successful, the canvas will lie nicely even without being combed during the day.

Indeed, I make an effort to mist the length with conditioning spray before brushing. This is ineffective in preventing tangled ends.

Return of the "mask before shampoo" method

I used the mask with the basin method in the winter, during the coldest part of the heating season, to improve its moisturizing qualities. I used wet palms to squeeze a moisturizer into the length of my hair after shampooing it. This caused the strands to become more moist. They were able to withstand the hot battery phase better in this way.

When the temperature dropped in the spring, I discovered that you could reduce the moisture content of your hair and promptly forgot about the technique. The Angel Professional Nutritional Cream mask does not change.

During the summer, when the air humidity was normal, I dug the "mask before shampoo" method out of my memory bank. I was able to get control and get rid of the over-moistening of my hair last summer. It involves washing your hair with shampoo after first applying a mask or conditioner to the wet length. This is how industrial hair care products build up and settle on hair. The strands get shinier, smoother, and heavier.

In order to avoid over-moistening and frizzing, I apply the "mask before shampoo" technique to my summertime hair care regimen.

I contrast "mask before shampoo" with the traditional application of conditioner.

Classic use "Mask before shampoo"
Looseness More Less
Stripiness Same Same
Obediness Less More
Tactile sensations Softness Softness + slipperiness

My hair is prepared to take on and receive care. With gratitude, they take everything and store it carefully. Become more dense, weighty, glossy, and smooth. Months may pass during this. I’ll use Angel Professional deep cleansing shampoo to clean the length if I see that the accumulations have gotten too bad.

  • Photo 1: my hair after the classic use of conditioner. Combed immediately after washing. Combed before the photo. Loose, flying apart. The ends in all directions.
  • Photo 2: my hair after washing with the same conditioner using the "mask before shampoo" method. Combed immediately after washing. Combed before the photo. Less loose, better gathered together, less volatile in the wind.

Goodbye, waves and curls

For a period of time. I intend to visit them again in the future.

I took the same shape from cold styling today as I did with Angel and Vieso in the winter. However, the effect wears off in less than 20 minutes, and even in 5 minutes, everything is back to normal. I’m a stability freak, so I had a hard time getting used to my hair looking flat. Thus far, I’ve just accepted the situation as it is and haven’t made it into a major issue.

But the day I wash my hair, I gather almost dry hair into a bun. My hair is now washed in the morning. and in a braid at night. It looks stunning as soon as you unbraid it, of course. However, after some time, the hair straightens out.

If this isn’t done, the length will stay loose for a very long time. The strands acquire smoothness, shine, and obedience even after just a few hours in a bun. I will only lose the shape at the same time, even if the waves from the bun straighten out. Obedience, shine, and smoothness are maintained.

  • Photo 1: my hair after washing my hair. Dried out. The part of the length where the henna was, is very loose. The length “stripes” minimally. Brushed before the photo.
  • Photo 2: The same day after three hours in a bun outside. Smoothness, shine, hair to hair. Waves. Not combed.
  • Photo 3: 15 minutes after the photo with waves. No waves. Smooth, shiny, hair to hair. Not combed.

In the second picture, the hair is my favorite feature. Yet the third choice is also acceptable. It’s better than the first, at least. Additionally, I believe it is best to maintain healthy hair.

No changes

I’ve been teaching myself to wear a hat in the summertime since 2018. Not the top of my head, the whole length of it. This served me well in places where there wasn’t a lot of vegetation, like an open field, to prevent my hair from burning out. Adequate measures were required due to extreme conditions.

The city-forest receives less direct sunlight. These days, nutrition is better. But every time I leave the house, I make sure to pack a Panama hat. I occasionally wear it for a short while, just a few times. When I feel like I would burn in such a sun (skin burns easily from improper tanning). Also, it is simpler to withstand the heat when one’s head is covered.

Keeping your hair nourished and protected is the key to beach hair care, especially during the summer. To protect your hair from the sun and saltwater, take some easy precautions like wearing a hat or scarf and using a quality leave-in conditioner.

Extra care is necessary for porous hair, which is more vulnerable to dryness and breakage. To prevent the ends from becoming brittle and split, concentrate on hydrating treatments and oils that seal them. New products for summer 2023 will help control frizz and manage unruly strands to give you smoother, healthier-looking hair.

By following these updated tips, by the end of your beach day, you can really change the way your hair feels and looks. Maintaining manageable, lustrous, and robust hair throughout the summer months only requires a small amount of work.
