Not everyone enjoys such complexity; in certain cases, I would much rather just be able to comb my curls and style them into a ponytail, bun, or braid. But the styling product is about to arrive. A very strong adhesion is produced if you use options with strong fixation, like gels. There are times when combing through hair is not possible without causing damage and ripping out half of it.

Softer ones, like salt sprays, for instance, just cannot hold my kind of curl; the results are sloppy.

A specialty cream might be a good solution, but it is tricky to dose; too little and it won’t correct the problem, too much and it will make the skin greasy and lose its freshness.

I’ve been partial to "curly" care products since last fall. It makes sense in this case to keep the curls in place rather than straighten them, as I occasionally have in the past. After experimenting with various options (such as the aforementioned salt spray, creams, and gels for different fixations), I recalled using foam to style my wild curls when I was younger. I was unaware of the "curly method" at the time, but I applied it to my extremely wet hair, whipped up my curls, and broke the cast after it dried, acting instinctively. I thought it turned out well.)

Attempting styling mousse was my goal. Furthermore, I recently discovered options for styling curly hair through the advice of a hair stylist. For my particular type of hair, she suggested using foam in order to avoid overstretching the already-prone curl structure.

Styling using mousse

There are enough foams available in various stores to satisfy every palate. I chose to use Taft Strong Hold, which is comparable to the gel I enjoyed, as a representative of the mass market for the first test. Okay. I’ll say this: each has advantages and disadvantages.

1. It is easiest to apply, distribute, dose this version of the product, there is no danger of overdoing it;
2. The hair does not stick together so much, it can be easily combed, change the hairstyle if desired;
3. The hairstyle itself turns out lighter and airier, voluminous (with my long hair this is a plus).

1. Styling with a hairdryer and diffuser is a must – when drying naturally, the curls are still deformed, and the deformation is stronger than when using gel;
2. The result is not guaranteed: perhaps due to the characteristics of the product or some other subtleties of use, I could not always get exactly the result I expected. I lacked neatness, structure, curling, when trying to add more product – slight untidiness, if you take less – a lot of frieze.

I chose to try specific options for curls to add moisture and flexibility to the hair as well as the necessary structure to the hairstyle because, on its own, I preferred the curly styling with foam much more than all the other options I had tried. Aqua, Polyvinylpyrrolidone, Decyl Glucoside, Niacinamide, Panthenol, Glycerin, Betaine, Disodium Cocoamphodiacetate, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Gel, Wheat Protein Hydrolyzed, Tregaloza Fragrance, Propylene glycol, Vitis vinifera (grape) fruit extract, lactic acid, glycolic acid, succinic acid, malic acid, phenol, ethylhexylglycerin, and sorbitol.

You have to admit, it’s a very promising product. Additionally, I truly enjoy the ingredients because they are both practical and thoughtful, without being excessive.

Application

It is advised that you apply a small amount of foam and curl it with your hands. I advise considering other options because the description does not always suggest using a hair dryer.

The product transforms into a soft, snow-white mousse when squeezed out:

You can press with varying intensities to dose the portion. I use two to three full portions for my length of hair.

Mechanism of style:

1. I wash my hair, apply a mask if desired, conditioner for detangling strands is a must;
2. In the process of rinsing off the conditioner, I form curls with squeezing movements, squeezing out excess water, throw the hair over my face, tilting my head down;
3. I apply leave-in conditioner (Livin) to very wet hair, continuing to form curls with "squeezing";
4. I divide the entire mass of strands into 2 layers (upper and lower), distribute the foam according to portions;
5. Once again, I thoroughly squeeze all the hair and throw it into a normal position, distributing it into the hairstyle of the shape I need;
6. I lift it at the roots, adding foam if necessary;
7. I lightly dry the roots with a hairdryer;
8. I dry all the hair with a hairdryer using a diffuser (the hair is thrown forward again, but since the roots are dried, they do not tangle much).

Result

As mentioned earlier, I experimented with various styling options. Trial and error led me to create the one I mentioned above: I tried the traditional curly (with plopping and drying naturally). I’ll now show you everything.

The "beach waves" style styling turned out to be something I did not particularly enjoy because, in my opinion, it was not neat enough. I did not like the plopping + classic natural drying option because my hair is not curled enough (it already tends to stretch the curl).

I prefer the laying option, which uses a hairdryer to dry the material based on the mechanism previously explained. Instead of stretching, the waves are more definite. It appears much more organized:

Refresh is a crucial phase in my life. I used to struggle with wearing curly hairstyles and would always trip over them. How is the new styling product working out for you now?

Having the ability to simply comb my hair before refreshing makes things so much easier now. How I go about it:

• I comb my hair well;
• I wet my hair very much, I try to do it evenly, I only leave the root area alone;
• I apply a little foam or spray for refreshing;
• I re-shape the curls;
• I dry my hair with a hairdryer.

This is the first product that guarantees a problem-free outcome without styling.

What should you do if you want to completely change your hairstyle but don’t want to refresh? Just comb through your hair. Nothing gets caught, the hair moves around with ease, and everything appears really tidy:

There once was a serious issue with this. Any bad hair day is no longer as frightening.)

There are other drawbacks, but they didn’t really bother me. For example, the foam doesn’t leave a strong cast, leaving some fluff in your style, and if you touch your hair with your hands, the foam dissolves and leaves your hair feeling sticky.
