Thus, continue reading to learn which leave-in creams might end up becoming your new favorites if you’re looking to give your hair some much-needed TLC.

Introduction

The year on Hairmaniac proved to be incredibly fruitful! Numerous intriguing findings that are extremely beneficial to success were made. My hair started to get better care, I got new jars, and I started to learn more about what my hair needed.

Of course, wash-off care was the cornerstone to a successful outcome. Regularly applying carefully chosen masks preserves the hair’s quality and promotes the growth of the desired length. But in addition to this, there was always another issue: how to style long hair that is unpredictable and devoid of a lovely shape?

In light of my preferences and structure, "cold" styling was the best choice. It minimized damage by enabling me to give up thermal devices (I mean a curling iron or a flat iron, I still use a hair dryer).

Usually at night, I braid a pigtail, a spikelet, or even four pigtails, but most of the time I use my go-to technique, which is satin roller styling (I wrote about it here). This technique hides damage and porosity while producing a "wow" effect.

I use this approach for yet another reason. My hair on the right side is far less dense than the left, something I have never mentioned before. This is how it’s always been, and sadly, if you straighten it out, the entire issue becomes even more apparent.

I want to point out right away that the hair in this area does not split, break off, or thin out. I have a semicircle haircut, and when you spread it out along the back, you can see that the person who cut my hair is not even the problem. I am accustomed to this feature after a long period of use, so go ahead and have curls!

It appears that the story can be concluded in this way, but I have come to realize that even a straightforward approach does not always ensure a dependable fixation and stunning visuals. Various nonsense help me a lot to achieve elastic, obedient curls; it can also protect the structure and add a gloss.

I currently have six creams in my collection that permanently improve the beauty of my hair. Every fund has a distinct purpose and a distinct direction.

I cordially invite you to join me in this fascinating and varied phase of care, where we will discuss each tool in detail and contrast the outcomes.

What are we dealing with

I always reveal my hair after utilizing any method, but it would be appropriate to first remind myself of their true nature.

I’ve attached a picture of my hair that has just been shampooed and doesn’t have any makeup applied. I twisted it with a satin roller, by the way, but the porosity is not well concealed and the curls vanished without the customary methods.

The role of leave-in creams in my care

  • Creams can have thermal protective properties, in order to minimize the damage from using thermal devices. And since I almost always dry my hair with a hairdryer, for me this is one of the most important points.
  • In addition, they envelop the hair with a protective film, which protects the hair from weather conditions, such as wind, sun and high humidity.
  • My collection includes creams that are aimed at moisturizing, nourishing or restoring hair. With their help, I can balance care and get the desired result.
  • Visual effect. Being the owner of porous, fluffy hair, I really appreciate the properties of my creams, additionally smoothing and softening the structure. They complete the care stage, masking damage and adding neatness.
  • Memory effect. I have accepted my curly structure and no longer resist it. And in order to wear it beautifully, I reveal its full potential with the help of "cold" styling. As a rule, these are various braids or styling with curlers. Because of this, I always pay attention to the ability of the cream to gently fix the result. At the same time, it is important for me to maintain the friability and mobility of the strands.

Faithful companion Kérastase Resistance Ciment Thermique

Cream that protects hair from heat damage and weakening

  • Manufacturer – Kérastase, Spain
  • Volume – 150 ml.
  • Cost – $ 35

A soft turquoise plastic tube with a screw-on cap.

The jar’s design is adorable and very feminine. Mother-of-pearl accents set off the completely matte packaging.

White gel texture that is light.

A thin layer of melted, nearly weightless texture covers the hair with gentle glides. Average consumption: About half a teaspoon is required for someone my length.

I should also talk about the wonderful scent, which is light, fresh, and citrusy. As it turned out, I could not stay impartial. Among the most preferred.

Composition:

Aqua/Water; PEG/PPG-17/18; Dimethiconol; Propylene Glycol; Triethanolamine; Phenoxyethanol; Cyclopentasiloxane; Methylthione, carbomer, and beryllium chloride • TRIDECETH-6 • 2-OLEAMIDO-1,3-OctecaneDiol • Linalool • Glyceerin • Citrimonium Chloride • Treh ALOSE • Tamarindus Indica Seed Polysaccharide • PolyQUATERNIUM-4 • Potato Starch Modified • Hydroxypropyl Guar • Methylparaben • Limonene • Amodimethicone • Cetyl Alcohol • Parfum / Fragrance • Myrothamnus Flabellifolia Leaf Extract

It is advised by the manufacturer to apply a small amount to towel-dried hair. After distributing along the length, begin styling.

Volume curls

I have never experienced overdrying with the cream because it doesn’t weigh down my hair. In my situation, it serves as a universal helper because it is careful and non-capricious. However, as the local girls frequently pointed out, applying a moisturizing mask is the first step toward getting the best result.

Alfaparf Volumizing shampoo, which very gently cleanses the scalp and hair while maintaining the volume of the root zone, is the first step in my favorite combination.

A stylish Kérastase Specifique Rehydratant mask will be your go-to form of basic care (read more here). The strands will be smoothed, softened, and intensely moisturized.

At the end, I apply Kérastase Resistance Ciment Thermique on wet hair, untangle the strands with my fingers, then always dry with a hairdryer (warm air). Since I will then lay them on a satin roller, I do not care how they dry and what shape they take, so I comb them already dry. The cream will work on restoration, smooth out the loose structure and reliably retain moisture inside the hair.

My impressions

I want to start off by talking about this. The product offers incredible defense against extreme heat! My experience can provide a clear example: in six months of using a hair dryer every day (and sporadically a straightening iron), I have not discovered a single split end. I was able to keep the cut tight and prevent thinning and breaking.

Since the quality of the hair is always important to me, I consider this to be a major victory.

Hair feels as though it is actually getting stronger as it gets stronger. There is density and the length is smooth and soft.

While the volume and splendor are retained, the fabric becomes friable. Additionally, curls are gently fixed and delight all day long.

Rating and recommendations

  1. Suitable for girls with thin hair. The product does not weigh down and does not leave unpleasant sensations in the form of stickiness.
  2. It will serve as excellent protection from the effects of high temperatures, preventing split ends and breakage.
  3. Suitable for owners of damaged, porous hair of any degree. The cream will smooth out the loose structure, fill in the voids, create the effect of healthy, strong hair.
  4. Is relevant at any time of the year, in any climatic conditions.

I’m giving this product the highest rating because it’s worth every penny; it’s kept me from giving up my hair dryer and made my hair look even more beautiful.

Saving dry hair – Kérastase Nutritive Magistral

A nourishing cream for extremely dry hair. possesses qualities that protect against heat

  • Manufacturer – Kérastase, Spain
  • Volume – 150 ml.
  • Cost – $ 35

A sturdy plastic jar with a screw-on lid. Bright orange elements are mixed with a delicate milky color to create the design.

The white balm has an extremely thick texture.

When all the creams are considered, this one is the most affordable. The portion is always small because of its extremely high nutritional value and dense consistency. To cover the whole length, I just need a few peas.

And as usual with Kerastase, an exquisite scent. This line smells very powdery and feminine.

Composition:

Aqua / Water ●Dimethicone ●Cetearyl Alcohol ●Glycerin ●Phenyl Trimethicone ●Amodimethicone ●Parfum / Fragrance ●Polyquaternium-37 ●Dimethiconol ●Phenoxyethanol ●Trideceth-5 ●Propylene Glycol Dicaprylate/Dicaprate ●Steareth-20 ●Cetyl Hydroxyethylcellulose ●Trideceth-10 ●Ppg-1 Trideceth-6 ●Butylene Glycol ●Hydroxypropyltrimonium Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein ●Glyceryl Linoleate ●Chlorhexidine Digluconate ●Citronellol ●Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone ●Benzyl Alcohol ●Glyceryl Oleate ●Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil/Sunflower Seed Oil ●2-Oleamido- 1,3-Octadecanediol ●Xylose ●Boron Nitride ●Safflower Glucoside ●Acetic Acid ●Iris Florentina Root Extract ●Glyceryl Linolenate ●Styrax Benzoin Gum ●Tocopherol ●Bht ●Sodium Citrate

Start styling your damp hair after applying a small amount.

Incomparable smoothness

I no longer find the cream to be effective as a heat protectant. This is because I need to apply a fairly large amount to cover the entire surface, which makes my thin hair feel heavy right away (and slicks down the healthier part of the growing length). I consequently almost never get overdried.

In this sense, I don’t think this is a universal product at all; rather, it’s the bomb as a straightforward leave-in!

I use damp hair when applying almost all creams. This is the one I prefer to use more on dry hair. This is because my surface has different levels of damage; that is, when it’s dry, I can precisely measure the amount needed and apply it only to the areas that really need it, so as to prevent an ugly outcome.

So the hair is shielded from frizz and I am shielded from anxiety.

I truly enjoy this scheme’s traditional pairing of moisturizing (in the form of a Kérastase Specifique Rehydratant mask) and finishing nourishment (with a Kérastase Nutritive Magistral balm). I’m able to use nearly any shampoo.

I therefore get extremely moisturized curls with a nice weight and nourishment after using.

What is its special feature

This cream is truly an SOS product because it can instantly treat even the most parched and exhausted hair. Its bright, nourishing effect is its primary characteristic.

I started using it in 2022. It softened and smoothed hair that was in a wire state all by itself, and I recall how delightful that was. That’s when I realized there was still a chance to save them!

Heavenly elasticity, smoothness, and nourishment! There is not even the slightest hint of crunch or stiffness in the ends, which feel fantastic. Hair becomes more supple, elastic, dense, and pliable.

The look of thick, heavy hair is one that I truly enjoy. The poor curl preservation is the only thing that irritates me. They simply try to straighten out under this weight, and in some spots, you can see strands that are nearly straight. But once more, this is solely a whim of mine. Conversely, this outcome might appeal to someone.

Who it suits

  1. The cream is suitable for girls with highly porous, hard, fluffy hair. It can get rid of frieze, give smoothness, make the canvas more elastic.
  2. It will become an excellent nourishing leave-in in the autumn-winter period. It will protect hair from high humidity and dry air.
  3. As an SOS remedy. At the beginning of my hair maniac journey, the cream helped me mask very dry and prickly ends.

I give the product five stars and suggest it to all girls with similar structures because I can’t pass up such a gorgeous and instantaneous transformation of my hair.

Curly mood – Kérastase Curl Manifesto

Moisturizing cream that protects curly and wavy hair from heat

  • Manufacturer – Kérastase, Spain
  • Volume – 150 ml.
  • Cost – $35

The jar is constructed in a cozy beige color. A screw cap coated in mirror complements the design.

Cream of white. It has a very liquid texture that resembles milk.

The consumption is a little higher than normal. One teaspoon is my ideal serving size.

It has a wonderful scent! the scent of sweet honey and powdered sugar.

Composition:

Water/Aqua/Eau; Glycerin; Cetearyl Alcohol; Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil/Sunflower Seed Oil; Hydroxypropyl Guar; Stearamidopropyl Dimethylamine; Cetyl Esters; Caprylyl Glycol; Glyceryl Stearate; Tartaric Acid; Mel Extract/Honey Extract; 2-Oleamido-1,3-Octadecanediol; Citric Acid; Parfum / Fragrancer.

In addition to the listed active ingredients, the composition also includes fatty alcohol, sunflower oil, glycerin, and antistatic agents. excludes silicones.

Applying a generous amount of cream from the roots to the ends of towel-dried hair is advised by the manufacturer. Next, move on to the curl formation.

The most outlined curls

It is important to remember that this cream is not your average nonsense. This is, first and foremost, a tool for curl formation and fixation. It has a great memory effect, but castes can form if layers are layered again.

Rarely, when I need to get elastic curls and keep my style as much as possible, I use it. Put differently, for a joyous farewell.

The most beneficial combo, in my opinion, starts with Alfaparf Curls Enhancing shampoo, which is designed to preserve volume and extremely gentle purification. Because it comes from a curly hair ruler, it also works on the canvas’s increased smoothness.

The Moroccanoil Intense Hydration mask then provides the hair with nourishment and hydration (you can read more about it here). This combination eliminates the slight stiffness that the cream will give the film by making the hair more smooth and flexible.

Finally, I apply Kérastase Curl Manifesto to damp hair that has already been combed. Here, I use a hairdryer very gently to dry them in the direction of growth, being careful not to move in an erratic manner. This idea stems from the fact that the hair will take on this shape as it dries. I use curlers after that. I usually comb my hair after styling to achieve a more "natural" wave, eliminate any remaining cast, and achieve friability.

As a natural drying, the cream was not to my taste. once more due to the stylistic effect. The actual drying process of the hair takes a while, and during this time, it can become crumpled and lose its beauty.

What is its merit

The most wonderful way for the leave-in to open up is if you use the cream after a suitable rinse-off treatment that will nourish the hair in moderation and moisturize it well! It will remove extra frizz and increase density. I should also mention that I don’t notice any stickiness or crunch. The fabric is generally soft to the touch, and you can freely run your fingers through the curls without getting stuck.

If the rinse-off treatment was insufficient or nonexistent, the cream won’t be able to handle the problem on its own.

Furthermore significant is the formation of a cast on dry hair, which stiffens the hair. This is particularly valid for broken ends. They appear to become less elastic.

But I can forgive him everything for that outcome! Take a look at how plump and elastic the curls are! Their "springiness" is particularly remarkable, and they are incredibly lush and voluminous.

There is no frieze, the structure is fantastic, and the fixation functions flawlessly! What matters is that the effect persists even at high humidity levels.

Who I recommend

  1. Suitable for girls with thin hair. The cream does not weigh down, on the contrary, it will add more density, create volume and splendor.
  2. For owners of curly hair and those who practice the "curly method". It will help to create more structured, defined curls without frieze.
  3. For lovers of cold styling. It will gently fix the necessary shape, protect from environmental influences.

How, then, can I not give this product five stars if it promises to give me a gorgeous curl? 🥰

Delicate moisturizing – Kérastase Soleil

Lightweight, hydrating cream that blocks UV rays

  • Manufacturer – Kérastase, Spain
  • Volume – 150 ml.
  • Cost – $35

Lustrous red tube with a seductive hue.

The cream has a milky hue and a light, weightless texture.

Use as sun protection results in a very high consumption. I’ve used up more than half of the jar over the summer because a walnut-sized portion is sufficient for me.

In spite of this, the product has a very subtle effect on the structure; it neither oversaturates it nor weighs it down. The quantity of cream applied may be cut in half in other circumstances. So, half a teaspoon will do if I use it just as a leave-in.

The aroma of candy, coconut, and a sunny summer’s day! undoubtedly makes one want to go on vacation!

Composition:

Water/Aqua – C13-16 Dimethicone, polyacrylamide, isoparaffin, and C13–14 Phenoxyethanol, Laureth-7, Tocopherol, Ethylhexyl Salicylate, Isoparaffin, and Cocos Nutrifera Chlorhexidine Digluconate, Caramel, Benzyl Alcohol, 2-Oleamido-1,3-Octadecanediol, Cocos Nucifera Oil, Coconut Oil, Citric Acid, Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate, Parfum, Fragrance, Fruit Juice, and Coconut Juice

Apply a small amount of cream to damp or dry hair either before or after being in the sun. Don’t rinse.

Relaxed styling

I didn’t restrict my usage of the cream to shielding myself from the sun. It’s a regular guest in my routine because I like the sensations and the way it works on my hair.

Since the cream lacks thermal protection qualities, I usually use it when I let my hair air dry naturally or when I want to achieve the look of lush, crumbly curls. Such styling always seems so romantic and natural.

My preferred application method is on dry hair. I always like the procedure: the cream softens and smoothes the structure in front of our eyes as soon as it is absorbed.

I also have a strong preference for tactile experiences. The cream is not a dummy, even with its very slight consistency; it softens the canvas and imparts the desired silkiness.

Although it works well with any type of care, the most popular method is to wear a pair with a natural mask like Kérastase soleil (Learn more here). She works like magic with my structure—smoothing, nourishing, having great air conditioning, and adding a stylish sheen! In turn, the cream preserves and softly moisturizes the outcome, fixing it.

I can use any neutral shampoo, like Alfaparf Diamond, in this scheme as long as it keeps volume and doesn’t have a bright cosmetic effect (the mask weighs down a little).

Why I love it

There are so many reasons why I love this cream! First off, I put it to the test several times in the summer when I could spend hours in the intense sun and my hair never lost its suppleness or moisture.

Second, it doesn’t overload or steal volume even when layered repeatedly.

Above all, a fantastic cosmetic outcome! Not only does it moisturize hair, but it also has a subtle nourishing effect, giving it more elasticity and flexibility.

Beautiful curls with lots of volume, smoothness, and movement! Curls have a laid-back vibe. Though my hair doesn’t work well with the memory effect, I still like the outcome. Being a little different from the norm is always interesting.

Rating

  1. It seems to me that this cream can suit girls with absolutely any structure and degree of damage.

The cream was classified as "the most frequently used product" while it was under my supervision. It simply leaves your hair feeling lovely and pleasing to the touch, so I like that you don’t have to bother trying to find combinations with it. Its remarkable adaptability allows for use in a variety of contexts and weather conditions.

Intensive hydration – L"Oréal Professionnel Curl Expression

Richly moisturizing, heat-resistant cream for styling all kinds of curls

  • Country of origin – Spain
  • Volume – 200 ml.
  • Cost – $ 25

Flexible, long-lasting plastic tube with a flip-top cover.

Put simply, the community has long referred to the Curl Expression line as "burgundy beauty." The design is actually created in an incredibly vivid, striking hue.

The texture of the cream is creamy-gel and slightly viscous.

I am aware that the consistency might appear confusing at first. At first, I thought that this was more of a gel with a high fixation level than a cream. The initial assessment was false; in actuality, the product does not leave a sticky residue or cause other unpleasant feelings.

It is quite simple to distribute. Its texture is siliconey and slick. Low consumption is observed. Because of its "powerful" caring effect, I only need a tiny drop to achieve the desired outcome.

The product exudes the amazing aroma of the well-known perfume Baccarat Rouge, which is so well-known that it doesn’t need an introduction.

Composition:

Water/Eau/AQUA/TRIETHOXYSILANE/C13-16 ISOPARAFFIN/LACTIC ACID/GLYCERIN/CETEARYL ALCOHOL/ ISOPROPYL MYRISTATE/POLYQUATERNIUM-37 AMODIMETHICONE POLYQUATERNIUM-6 PROPYLENE GLYCOL DICAPRYLATE/DICAPRATE DIMETHICONE HYDROXYPROPYL GUAR PHENOXYETHANOL • TRIDECETH-5 • STEARETH-20 • VP/VA COPOLYMER • PPG-1 TRIDECETH-6 • TRIDECETH-10 ACETIC ACID, CHLORHEXIDINE DIGLUCONATE, SORBITAN OLEATE TETRASODIUM EDTA; HIBISCUS ESCULENTUS SEED EXTRACT; LIMONENE; BENZYL SALICYLATE; BENZYL ALCOHOL; HYDROXYETHYL UREA; PARFUM / FRAGRANCE

Rich in composition, it promises intense hydration, conditioning, structural restoration, and my personal favorite, thickening. Furthermore, the composition includes elements that can correct the styling.

After evenly distributing a small amount of the cream throughout damp hair, begin styling.

I apply the cream on towel-dried hair in tiny portions, following the manufacturer’s instructions to the letter. The hair feels a little bit slippery at this point, which facilitates combing. I then use a hairdryer to dry it without using a brush.

Romantic waves

This product falls into the "strong" care category. It will smooth out frizz, soften harsh ends, and conceal damage.

The way the cream works well with wash-off moisturizers is great; otherwise, there’s not enough density and you need to add more "weight." That’s why I usually pair it with Kérastase Specifique Rehydratant or my own mask, Curl Expression Rich (find out more here).

Use Alfaparf Moisture shampoo for better balance. It will nourish and make hair easier to manage, which will lead to further weighting.

It’s also possible to apply the cream over restorative or nourishing makeup during times of high humidity. A robust silicone film will be applied to the hair to stop excessive frizz.

Success after use

Although the product does not form a styling crust as much as Kerastase Curl Manifesto, it does have a memory effect (though the curls are naturally less structured). Conversely, the hair gets nourished, thicker, and smoother. It is advisable to start applying the cream in small portions as it has the ability to weight, increase flexibility, and soothe the imperfections in the porous structure.

I adore it so much because, in addition to weighting, it thickens hair without sacrificing its splendor or volume. There’s an elastic, crumbly, and "lot of hair" look to the fabric.

Who will like it

  1. The cream is suitable for the care of damaged, dry hair. It is able to "pull out" weaker care, will work on smoothness, pleasantly weigh down and get rid of frieze.
  2. It has excellent protection from the effects of high humidity. The hair will be covered with a thin film that will fix the result and allow you to enjoy styling.
  3. Suitable for owners of curls. The product will create more structured and defined curls.
  4. Can also be used on straight hair, creating a smoother and shinier fabric.

For me, Curl Expression has become a must-have cream because it works so well on porous, curly hair. It restores, deeply moisturizes, and has a gorgeous appearance!

Stunning conditioner for lush styling Alfaparf Semi di Lino Moisture

Conditioner left in to hydrate and soften dry hair

  • Country of origin – Italy
  • Volume – 200 ml.
  • Price – $20

Plastic tube with flexibility and durability.

The use of pink in the design is symbolic of the fragility of rose petals. The jar has a very sweet, feminine appearance!

Creamy white texture that is almost liquid.

Extremely user-friendly, rapidly absorbed, and with an average consumption.

Scent: elegant, flowery, slightly sweet. All day long, these lovely notes are all around me.

Composition:

Water, Cetearyl Alcohol, Dimethicone, Amodimethicone, Parfum (Fragrance), Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein, Isopropyl Alcohol, Cetrimonium Chloride, Trideceth-10, Phenoxyethanol, Behentrimonium Chloride, Hexylene Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Dimethicone Peg-8: urea, sucrose, glucose, citric acid, dextrin, meadowfoamate, Alanine, Aspartic Acid, Glutamic Acid, Hexyl Nicotinate, Glycerin, Carnosine, Sodium Benzoate, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Linum Usitatissimum Seed Extract (Linseed), Calcium Sorbate, Caesalpinia Spinosa Gum, and Biosaccharide Gum-4.

The formula is designed to moisturize, repair, and shield hair from outside influences. contains silicone but lacks heat-resistant qualities.

Distribute evenly over damp, clean hair. Don’t rinse.

The most luxurious result

To achieve a luxurious, full styling, it’s critical that I preserve the canvas’s lightness and friability. I will therefore use Alfaparf Curls as a shampoo. As I’ve already mentioned, it effectively cleanses the scalp, modifies the length, and keeps excessive frizz at bay.

The conditioner Kérastase Resistance Ciment Anti-Usure will serve as the foundation for the rinse-off care. It has moisturizing and restorative qualities. The resulting canvas’s density, whip, and softness are all really appealing to me. Following it, the structure of the hair is essentially smoothed out and given a more "healthy" appearance.

Next, if I use a hair dryer to dry my hair, I use Kérastase Resistance Ciment Thermique cream. When combined with the "native" conditioner, it performs admirably. Your hair won’t feel heavy from it.

I apply a tiny amount (half a teaspoon) of leave-in conditioner Alfaparf Semi Di Lino Moisture throughout the length of your hair once it is totally dry.

I apply the Alfaparf conditioner to the dry, combed length of my hair and begin styling if I plan to let it air dry naturally.

Delight from using it

And I have only positive impressions! I’ll begin by noting that I’ve been using it for a number of years and that I frequently come back to this product.

Under my supervision, it serves primarily as a product with a beautiful memory effect and humidity resistance. It barely shows up on my hair by itself as a care product. The foundation for improving the overall state of the damaged structure should be wash-off cosmetics, while the conditioner will serve as a beautiful finish.

This is the most fun portion! I can only achieve the most luxurious and voluminous styling that lasts all day with Alfaparf conditioner. The product doesn’t oversaturate thin hair or make it heavier. It works gently on the hair, fixing the curls and preserving their friability and movement.

That is the final result of the curls—pretty and plump!

My rating

  1. Suitable for girls with thin hair. Able to very delicately affect the length, without overloading it at all.
  2. For lovers of "cold styling". Fixes and maintains the desired shape of the hair for a long period. Does not create any cast.
  3. For care in a humid climate. The conditioner helps maintain smoothness, preventing the appearance of frieze.

I award five points for the "wow effect" because Alfaparf is the only product that can produce curls this gorgeous and substantial.
