Curly products Bouclème

My first curly Bouclème products arrived to me a while back.

It’s possible that my eyes are failing me, but I was unable to locate any Russian brand descriptions or product listings on Russian internet retailers. For that reason, I translated the product names and the descriptions by myself. Although the translation is free, it is not entirely accurate; avoid tossing objects. The data was obtained directly from the brand’s official website.

A little a lot about the brand, their mission, compositions

Michelle, its endearing creator

A UK-based brand, the goods are likewise manufactured there, primarily using "local" ingredients. The brand is entirely "curly," meaning that all of the products are designed specifically to take care of curls; there aren’t any products for straight hair, though I’m sure they could work. The selection is rather limited; in fact, they only have one line, to which they have recently added a mini-line of unisex curly hair products.

The mission of the brand, compositions

OUR GOAL We are aware of the demands made on curly hair and the challenges involved in providing it with daily care. Compared to other hair types, curly hair is more delicate and prone to dryness. They require hydrating and deeply absorbing cosmetic ingredients that support and fortify the structure from the inside out. Our products are packed with potent ingredients that give dry, lifeless hair back its hydration and vibrancy. Your hair will be gorgeous, lustrous, and well-hydrated with our easy three-step method for cleaning, conditioning, and styling. just as nature intended.

OUR TRUTH

We care deeply about curls and the planet we live on.

We are committed to protecting the environment. All our products are recyclable in packaging and our ingredients are biodegradable, making Bouclème products safe for the environment as well as safe for your body.

We believe in the power of nature and seek out natural ingredients that have been proven to work.

Bouclème products are free of chemical nastiness. Our “0%” policy includes a list of ingredients you will never find in our products.

Our eco-certified preservative is used in the smallest possible quantities. It protects carefully selected components from the development of mold and bacteria, increasing the shelf life.

We test our products on real curls, not on animals. And we work with a testing group, which includes people with various problems with their curls.

What does policy "0%" mean? The following is an inventory of ingredients that the brand does not use:

Silicones – create a (polyethylene?) layer. To give the appearance of glossy, smooth curls, cover the hair. With repeated use, the curls become extremely dry because the majority of them are not water-soluble and can build up on the hair, preventing moisture from penetrating the cuticle.

Sulfates are strong detergents that are also found in degreasers for engines. eliminates all moisture from your hair, leaving your curls original and frizzy.

Petroleum byproducts, sometimes referred to as mineral or paraffin oil, are an unreliable byproduct of the refining of petroleum. raises the risk of cancer and slows down the rate of cell renewal. can clog pores, induce allergic reactions, and cause dryness.

Specifically, the active component in frizz control is propylene glycol. penetrates the skin rapidly and has been related to major health issues (such as respiratory irritation, kidney and liver damage). Commonly found in most hair and skin formulas, inexpensive.

… parabens, which are often used artificial preservatives. interfere with the hormones’ normal function. mimic estrogen and are thought to pose a long-term health risk, including cancer.

Petroleum-based compounds known as PEGs are made with ethylene oxide, a known skin carcinogen.

Phthalates are a class of widely used industrial compounds that are technically referred to as 1,2-benzenedicarboxylic acid dialkyl or alkyl aryl ethers. They can be found in a variety of personal hygiene and cosmetic products, such as skin creams, hairsprays, soaps, shampoos, nail polishes, and perfumes. They may be endocrine disruptors, and high concentrations may have an impact on human development and reproduction.

Synthetic fragrances: Petroleum-based synthetic compounds make up 95% of the chemicals in fragrances. can lead to allergies and skin irritation.

Synthetic colors—many of which include salts of heavy metals. contribute to dermatitis by causing skin irritation.

I want to make it clear that this is merely a translation of the brand’s creators’ words, and they do not represent my viewpoint. I lack the knowledge necessary to confirm or refute the dangers of silicones, flatates, and other similar substances. So please, please refrain from mentioning holy wars in the comments. Of course, a well-reasoned, measured opinion is appreciated.

Actually, a review

I made the decision to purchase multiple items at once, not the complete line, but rather the bare minimum of the following:

– Air conditioning for curls – Curl cream – Curl gel – Curl cleaner

In addition, the brand offers a mask that should be used before washing, hair oil that should also be used before washing procedures rather than as a leave-in, a comb for wet hair, and a shampoo—well, not quite, but you could call it that because it produces less foam than the Kokosh does. The ones that fascinate me are oil and shampoo.

Appearance

I confess, I am not a fan of examining jars under a microscope and longreads about their appearance the inside, IMHO, is more important. So I will only say that these are 300 ml bottles (there are also mini-versions of 100 ml and mega-versions of 1 liter) made of matte plastic, which does not slip out of your hands, which have a nice uniform design – as if a white curl is wrapping the bottle, each means only your color. Convenient by themselves and dense lids of flip filter, in the cream-a dispenser. Everything works, doesn"t spit, except that for thicker products the flip-flop format is not very convenient, sometimes you have to dance for the bottle to give out a portion.

That concludes our appearance; please review the pictures.

Cleanser for curls

Actually, this serves only as a cowashing conditioner. I’ll refer to it as a cowash for simplicity’s sake.

A highly moisturizing, non-foaming formula designed to remove impurities from the hair and scalp without altering the skin’s natural moisture balance. You can get perfectly defined, moisturized curls by strengthening dry, frizz-prone hair with a luxurious cleansing cream once a day. gives off a zesty, minty, and magnolia leaf scent that lingers long after freshness.

Color: white Aroma: very weak, gives off a freshness – citrus, mint. I really like unobtrusive fresh aromas, so this aspect was very pleased. Consistency: medium-thick cream, fairly light and not dense. But sometimes you need to shake the bottle so that it rolls down to the neck faster. It practically doesn’t flow out on its own, you have to squeeze it out fortunately, the bottle material allows it. The liter version has a pump. Consumption: average. Compared to shampoo – more, but not much. Price: around 1300 rubles. for 300 ml. You can find it cheaper or with discounts. In general, I bought the entire series with a 22% discount.

Composition

Aqua/Water/Eau, Cetearyl Alcohol, Glycerin (Vegetable), Polyglyceryl-3 Dicitrate/Stearate, Cocos Nucifera (Virgin Coconut) Oil, Argania Spinosa (Argan) Oil, Benzyl Alcohol, Distearoylethyl Dimonium Chloride, Hydroxypropyltrimonium Honey, Methylcellulose, Linum Usitatissimum (Linseed) Seed Oil, Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride, Hydroxymethylcellulose, Dehydroacetic Acid, Punica Granatum (Pomegranate) Extract, ***Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Extract, Propanediol, *Litsea Cubeba (May Chang) Flower Oil, *Citrus Grandis ( Grapefruit) Peel Oil, *Citrus Reticulata (Mandarin Red) Peel Oil, *Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Sweet Orange) Peel Oil, *Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Fruit Oil, *Origanum Majorana (Marjoram Sweet) Leaf Oil, *Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Oil, *Mentha Viridis (Spearmint) Leaf Oil, *Pogostemon Cablin (Patchouli) Leaf Oil,*Michelia Alba (Magnolia) Flower Oil, *Michelia Alba (Magnolia) Leaf Oil, *Cymbopogon Martini (Palmarosa) Leaf Oil, Styrax Tonkinensis (Benzoin) Resin Extract, *Tilia Cordata (Linden) Flower Oil, **Limonene **Linalool **Linalool **Geraniol

*natural oils, **possible allergens, and ingredients that are certified organic

Impression: cleanses well overall, but I still have to soap the roots a second time and rub-rub-rub. It is weak for my roots – my scalp, although not oily, is prone to oiliness on the second day, does not allow the roots to look decent. Although I can’t say that I have a bad relationship with all the kovoshes – there were some that were good for my oily skin, but at the same time – soft to the length. Therefore I can"t easily forgive this specimen for having greasy hair on the second day just because he"s a koosh. Perhaps this effect is due to Oils almost at the very beginning of the composition.
When the water is added, it gives quite a bit of milk foam, which, however, is enough to compress and wash the length. Of the pluses – the feeling that Kovosh also has an air conditioning effect – with him I can easily, in principle, unraveled the simple confusion. Although for more serious cases it took air conditioning. Also about one other effect below in general impressions of the ruler.

Air conditioner for curls

Use air conditioning for curls Bouclème to revitalize and repair your hair. The purpose of the light, incredibly moisturizing formula is to protect and strengthen lifeless curly hair.

The antioxidant vitamin E shields the hair cuticle from the damaging effects of the environment while the air conditioner heavily hydrates and penetrates it. The outcome was obedient, shining hair with renewed radiance and vitality.

White in color Aroma: slightly reminiscent of kovosh with a hint of citrus and mint soap Cream with a medium thickness that is thicker than a kovosh. Additionally, it is challenging to remove from the bottle; you must shake and push; the narrative is similar to that of a kovosh, but much more depressing. Use one tablespoon of conditioner on damp hair as per usual, followed by cornstarch to detangle specific sections. Price for 300 ml: approximately 1400 rubles. It is available for less money or with discounts.

First impressions: excellent conditioner! flawless uniformity Not a perfect bottle, but the liter one has a pump! It is perfect for detangling, moisturizing, and has almost no smell, making it economical to use. I would prefer a liter in general, and it is unfortunate that the current bottle will not run out as soon. It is very enjoyable to use; initially, you don’t feel anything, but after a while, your hair seems to swell and become slippery. Applying more leaves the hair covered in the lightest, most delicate milk foam.

By the way! According to the manufacturer, you shouldn’t fully rinse out the conditioner if your curls are thick and dry. I tried it on my hair, which had thick curls but wasn’t dry. By the evening, it showed up as icicles and, surprise!, straightened curls. That is, for my hair, though this approach is obviously inappropriate.

Curl cream

Our incredibly nourishing soft leave-in cream offers the best moisture protection available. tames your frizz to create lively, soft curls by supporting and softening all types of curls.

Color: It seems creamy to me. Scent: somewhat like kovosh and konde, with a hint of citrus and mint soap The perfect consistency for a leave-in cream is a thick, dense cream. However, look, a pump! Hooray! Consumption: one pump press, which is about average (in my opinion) for these kinds of funds Cost: about 1600 rubles for a 300 ml portion. You can locate more affordable options or deals.

First impressions: a pleasure to use. My hair is incredibly soft; however, prior to receiving a special "curly" life, my waves and curls were quite stiff. I broke the cast, but even so, the situation has completely changed. Despite using a hairdryer on a regular basis and not using any other heat protection, I feel like I have less split ends (or at least I don’t notice them after a haircut).

Curl Gel

Applying our best-selling moisturizing gel is a breeze thanks to its serum-like consistency. You can have defined, silky curls without the frizz and stickiness. Your hairstyle and curl shape are preserved with a medium hold that lasts for a long time as the gel dries and forms a cast.

Lemon-cloudy with a tinge of transparency in color Aroma: brighter than other tested products, but with the same mint and citrus overtones Consistency: liquid gel that easily flows out of the bottle; consumption: one teaspoon after popping, or a tablespoon and a half for wet hair Price for 300 ml: approximately 1300 rubles. is available at a lower cost or with a discount.

Impressions: I like the gel in general —you don’t even need to dilute it with water to apply it without any problems. The only problem is the liquid consistency—it can run off your palms. But I do a little bit for each curl—they are even better worked out this way. Cast creates a fairly strong, easy-to-break. My 2b-2c waves last until about midday, then they begin to unwind a little. The next day — if I don’t wash my hair — even less noticeable waves are visible.
I can’t refresh yet at all, not because of the gel, but because of my clumsy hands
You can play with the amount of the product applied – less will give me very weak beach curls, closer to straight hair. More — slightly tighter curls as far as my hair allows me to make tight curls
Therefore, the title of a medium hold gel is fully justified, it is better not to expect miracles of curling for a couple of days from it. I suspect that this depends on the density of the gel — denser ones gave me longer curls and even decent waves the next day. Thinner ones — weaker hold. But this is just a theory

Ensemble! This is merely the "more" application option.

And finally, hair

For the most part, I tried to use all the products together, but sometimes you need to use a harsher shampoo, or a mask, so sometimes the hairbrush or conditioner fell out. Sometimes the combinations did not want to be combinations and the effect was not very good. But overall, I am very pleased with the results, especially after using all the products in one wash! The curl curls and basically holds, the hair is soft. What I think I noticed the promised side effect of the kovosh — after using the entire line in one wash, my hair generally gets tangled less when dry and I have practically nothing to untangle during the bath procedure. If I use a “foreign” mask or shampoo (even a soft one), there are more tangles. That is, I don’t like the kovosh itself, but it apparently gives some additional effect to the overall piggy bank, which is not the same without it.

I gave my hair a small chop during the testing phase. I wanted to observe from a "clean slate" how the ends responded to new products, specifically cream-livin, in part because I needed to remove a few centimeters but the hairdresser didn’t think so and cut off more split hair (it overtook me when I started switching to the curly method, but I didn’t have special curly livins).

Following the haircut, curly products produced this outcome:

Results

The line left a positive impression on me. The conditioner in particular was very impressive, but other products, like Kovosh, were less so. Without a doubt, I want to use the conditioner again, but in a liter version. Kovosh lasted precisely 1.5 months, requiring washing every 1-2 days, before running out by the time I wrote the post. Out of all the products, infinite cream has the lowest consumption in my opinion. The gel works well, but I would like to try others, like the highly recommended The Mane Choice.

The ratings are as follows overall: 5+++ conditioner Living cream: five Gel: 5; Kovosh: 4

Bouclème’s curly hair products are made with natural ingredients to define and nourish curls, providing curly hair with healthier alternatives free of harsh chemicals. These products are well-liked by people who want to accept and properly care for their natural curls because they concentrate on hydration, frizz control, and curl definition.
