Many people who have porous, curly hair frequently become frustrated with the difficulties in keeping their hair in good condition. The struggle to control frizz, dryness, and unmanageable texture sometimes seems never-ending. However, having porous, curly hair is actually far from a drawback.
When properly cared for, this kind of hair can truly become one of your greatest assets. Straight-haired people are frequently envious of curly hair’s limitless styling options due to its volume, texture, and inherent waves. Those wild curls can shine and look effortlessly gorgeous with the correct care regimen.
Start appreciating the uniqueness of your curly, porous hair instead of seeing it as a problem. You’ll see how much freedom and beauty it really holds once you know how to take care of it properly.
What happened:
1. Recognize the requirements for hair. My hair is most fond of being well-hydrated. This is what care should prioritize above all else. Absence of hydration results in rigidity. Hydration indicates the presence of a base. You can continue to work with this. The least interested in keratin, proteins, and other such things are those of us with curls. It makes sense because there’s nowhere else to put henna and the hair is healthy.
2. Organize medical attention. Everything was decided for me by life, and it was a wise decision. It’s true what they say: you arrived at what you left. Most of my products ran out during the marathon, and I was unable to purchase new cans. Despite this, there remained sufficient products to maintain the hair’s quality.
Here are the rules of care that became clear during the marathon: a. Don"t look for good from good. If the product is suitable – great. No need to change it, no need to spend money on 100500 cans. b. You don"t need a million dollars for good care, you just need a little brains to single out the effective products and use only them in your care. And a little heart to believe that cans that are unpopular in the general mass may be suitable for your hair (for example, my favorite conditioner contains silicones that are contraindicated in KGM). c. My hair is too sensitive to care for, and I can"t afford to smear everything on my head. Better less, but better. And no mass market. d. No need to complicate things and chase the ideal. This became clear when the cans melted one after another, the stocks were not replenished, and for some reason my hair did not fall out .
And here are the products I take with me for the future: 1. Shampoos — solid from Lush. All. Nothing new. They sent me my favorites "Love for hair" (coconut for dry) and "Lady Godiva" (jasmine with conditioner for everyone). Nothing has changed in the past seven years – they were the best and remain so. It remains to try sulfate-free ones. 2. Conditioners – the famous coconut from Tresemm and silicone Dixon Arga Beta for curls (it contains silk and elastin, as well as oils). These two completely cover all needs: hydration, density, elasticity, friability. 3. Masks – Kaaral Hydra and Kaaral Royal Jelly. Ideal hydration and ideal nutrition\restoration. 4. Livins – dilute Tresemm conditioner in any organic spray on plant extracts, ideal. I don"t like organics in themselves, but if you emulsify our famous Tresemm in some extract, you get a moisturizing a lifesaver for every day. 5. Styling — Essence from Aomi, as well as homemade flax gel. But this point is not yet completely closed, I will have to try again. This is good, but the fixation is not enough.
Girl, these products are mostly no longer available. Thus, there won’t be a group picture. However, there is a picture of hair that has only been styled and cleaned using KGM-approved products. created just now.
Of course, in the future I will not refuse to buy new products, other. From small joys and experiments. But the backbone is here. Experiments cost me dearly. This includes wasted funds on passable jars. This includes unsuccessful styling "for the day". This includes a killed scalp (yes, yes, 30 years of problem-free scalp did not bother me, but in one month of the marathon it became unusable and began to itch furiously thanks to the caffeine tonic that I bought impulsively). This is tow instead of a hairstyle, which took a week and a half to restore – this is how, for example, any Garnier product affects my hair..
I adore brand-new jars. But I’m going to buy fewer of them now. And only in accordance with my needs and desires.
3. Convert to a mild cleaning method. I haven’t had a chance to try kovosh or sulfate-free yet. I didn’t have time to try it, but I finished the one I had. Thus, this remains in the plans, and I’m awaiting the chance to put it into action. The pre-pu oil masks have saved me. In addition, the two shampoos I brought with me for the marathon—the moisturizing one from Biolage and the mint one from Aomi—turned out to be kind and gentle on the hair.
4. Acquire comprehension of the compositions. 50/50. I do it based on how I’m feeling; I didn’t have time to jot everything down in a notebook. However, I can already tell the fundamental ingredients apart from one another. And this makes a big difference in designing the best washing and styling plans! Furthermore, based only on the ingredient list, I chose shampoos, masks, and conditioners for multiple friends, knowing exactly what they needed. Everyone was content.
I was persuaded that reading ingredients is a crucial skill that is necessary to advance in the pursuit of well-groomed hair. Additionally, it’s very beneficial to choose the jars that will work best for your hair rather than storing extras.
