If you’ve ever scrolled through hair care products, you might have come across bay oil, sometimes known as Minoxin. It"s touted by some as a miracle solution for hair loss, but is it truly effective or just another gimmick? This article aims to cut through the hype and uncover the real story behind bay oil.
We’ll examine the definition of bay oil, its supposed mechanisms of action, and the existence of credible supporting data for these assertions. Knowing which products truly hold up to scrutiny and which ones might just be clever marketing is important because there are so many out there promising the ultimate hair transformation.
So, if you’re wondering if bay oil is the secret to healthier hair or if this is just a passing fad, stay tuned. Our goal is to investigate the truth and distinguish it from fiction.
By the way, how is bay oil useful for hair? And what kind of plant is this?
Bay in another way – Fig tree, or Pimenta racemosus, or American laurel, or Pimenta racemosus, or Clove pepper. Actually, it immediately becomes extremely clear how bay essential oil should smell. This smell is spicy.
Bay leaf and bay leaf, right?
The color of bay oil is a rich yellowish-green.
Usually, bay oil is obtained by steam distillation from the leaves of the plant. But most of the active components are destroyed.
The MINOXIN company, on the contrary, tries to preserve all these substances in the oil, so it obtains it using the "cold technology" by leaf pressing. Surely you all know that the same olive oil comes in different varieties – from the first "cold" pressing to the last with heating. Here is exactly the same situation.
Since bay oil is an essential oil, it is typically offered for sale in tiny amounts—just a few milliliters. So how did the manufacturer manage to produce a 50 ml bottle that size? The truth is that applying essential oils—especially bay oil—to the skin in their purest form is not advised. This may cause a great deal of irritation. particularly on the scalp, which is such a thin and typically invisible area of the skin.
The oil’s active ingredient is eugenol. It is widely used in perfumery, cosmetics, and medicine (anesthetics, antibacterial qualities). This material rapidly decomposes in direct sunlight because it "does not like" it. Products containing this material should therefore be kept out of the light and in opaque bottles.
- Improves blood circulation in the vessels of the head.

- Strengthens damaged hair.
- Promotes the growth of new hair.
- Helps eliminate skin diseases – seborrhea, fungus.
- Prevents hair loss.
- Restores natural silkiness and returns shine to hair.
The oil from Composition Bay (MINOXIN) is very natural. There are just three parts to it.
Fractionated coconut oil, or Cocos nucifera oil. Bay oil, or Pimenta Racemosa Oil Extract. Vitamin E, tocopheryl acetate.
Here, we use coconut oil as an auxiliary, base oil-base, and "buffer." It’s likely that only the indolent are unaware of this oil’s advantages. It provides good nourishment, hydration, and softness to the skin and hair. Naturally, some people are not happy with how it affects hair length and express dissatisfaction over coconut drying. But at its core, this is a solid product that should not be avoided. Coconut oil, though, is said to clog pores and exacerbate hair loss. Let’s see what transpired in my situation (see the details below).
Bay oil has already been covered in great detail above; there’s no need to reiterate it.
However, vitamin E is an antioxidant that also feeds hair follicles and gives hair its elasticity, smoothness, and resilience. retards the aging process and promotes the growth of robust, healthy hair.
Since today I have an unusual review in terms of the arrangement of its parts, now it"s time to discuss examine the packaging of the product.
The product is placed in a cardboard box of thick solid cardboard. Having covered many thousands of kilometers, it came to me in a completely civilized form.
The box is sealed with transparent linden at the top and bottom, and to open the product, you need to cut it. Manufacturer, thank you! I appreciated the concern for the integrity of the product until it is opened by the legal consumer)
white packaging with green and black images and text. Nothing extra.
On both sides of the box there is the name of the product, the brand and a schematic showing the result of the product – hairs grow!
On the side of the box the action of the active components, the method of application and the composition are described in detail
On the other side there is information about the manufacturer, storage conditions, volume and expiration date
On the bottom of the box there is a barcode
On the top – the name of the product
Well, inside the box we will find the bottle itself.
The bottle is a standard cylindrical one made of white opaque plastic. The plastic is dense, you can’t just press on it. Almost the entire surface of the bottle is occupied by a sticker with repeating information from the box: the name of the product, storage conditions, volume of the bottle and expiration date shelf life,
method of application, composition
I will also note that this oil is produced according to GOST 32852-2014, which applies to cosmetic oils intended for facial, body, head, hair care and for adding fragrance, and other similar products that meet the requirements of this standard.
I’ll talk about the sticker for a little while longer. Given that the product is meant to be used for an extended period of time, it is highly advantageous to transfer critical information that the user needs to it because the boxes are kept apart from one another. Furthermore, the sticker remains firmly attached to the bottle and does not swell when exposed to water.
Let’s now examine the dispenser. Everything has been carefully considered. It is consistently shielded by a unique snap-on cap from leaks and accidental pressure. Additionally, it is detachable and, in the right hands, reusable. The dispenser is very efficient; it doesn’t jam or shoot in the direction of a hundred meters. Everything is orderly and seamless. releases a tiny amount of the product in a clean, thin stream. The product’s tube length, which I measured, precisely matches the bottle’s height. In other words, you will continue to use the dispenser until the final application.
Consistency, color, smell
Bay MINOXIN oil has yellowish-green tint. Actually, such as the Bay oil itself.
The oil is translucent, slightly cloudy. There is a small layer of dark green sediment at the bottom, it is just visible in the spoon, because.. the dispenser takes from the bottom of the bottle. The presence of sediment is normal and acceptable.
To me the smell strongly reminds of bay leaf and a little clove. A pleasant spicy aroma. It makes you perk up. I have no desire to exclaim "ugh, what disgusting stuff". And I am sensitive to smells.
The oil is smooth, liquid. This means it will spread well on the skin. But at the same time, a drop of oil does not drip from the tip of the tube, like water. There will be no leakage during application.
The talk about Bay oil, also called Minoxin, in relation to hair care frequently begs the question, "Is this a real thing, or is it just another fad?" This article will examine whether Bay oil actually improves scalp health and promotes hair growth, or if it’s just a myth with no credible evidence to support it. We will help you determine whether this trendy product is worth your time and money by sorting fact from fiction.
Application, my impressions
Let"s read what the manufacturer recommends
Application: Using a spray nozzle, apply the oil directly onto a dry scalp with 25 clicks. Once applied, massage it in thoroughly, cover your head with a towel or plastic cap, let it sit for 60 minutes, and then rinse with shampoo. a durable outcome following two months of use. You can leave a small amount of oil on split ends without rinsing. A tiny bit of oil applied evenly to the face’s skin will encourage the growth of a moustache and beard. Use once daily for six months.
I only used it on my hair because I don’t have a beard. I was unable to verify the outcome here either because the ends do not split.
The manufacturer states that 25 clicks are needed to treat the scalp. However, this volume is excessive! The oil then runs down the face and neck. I click between ten and thirteen times. This will take care of the entire scalp more than adequately.
By the way, the spoon in the above photo has precisely five pumps of the product!
I apply the product from the dispenser directly to the dirty scalp.
That is, not to the fingers, but then to the roots. Since this method has its own big disadvantage – no matter how hard you try, some of the oil will get on the length. And this is an unnecessary expense and the product has no intended effect. Therefore, only with a dispenser.
I mentally distribute the entire scalp into several zones and apply one, maximum two pumps to each. The approximate location of the zones is in the picture, in life it turns out almost like this.
After that, I gently (. ) rub the oil in to distribute it. And on top of everything else, I get a useful massage.
I used this oil before leaving work because it’s summer and I usually don’t have time to wait an hour to wash my hair (and then put on a mask for at least half an hour). It will take you an hour and a half to get home in the car and to complete the ambulance ride. Furthermore, the oil doesn’t have a strong scent, so nobody will be especially aware of its presence. especially because I’m the only one operating the vehicle.
There are no sensations brought on by the oil during the action. Generally speaking, I don’t remember that I applied anything there.
It’s time to rinse the product off. I used a DevaCurl scooper to wash my hair as usual on the first occasion. I gave it my regular wash; prior to that, I had been using this product for cleaning, and the quality of the cleaning had never been questioned.
My hair was not completely dry when I went to bed, so my roots were a little wet. I came to the realization in the morning that these roots would never dry up and that I would always smell like bay. The oil on the roots was not removed by this scooper. And there was a disagreeable smell that seemed to have a hint of bay. It’s simply incredible! I had to wash my hair again immediately. I used Joico Curl, a sulfate-free shampoo, for this. I had to wash my hair three times with it. In total, I washed Joico Curl (sulfate-free) three times and DevaCurl twice in the evening. This really made me angry.
I made the decision to use Joico Curl, a sulfate-free shampoo, the following time. I scrubbed vigorously, and a lot of hair fell down the drain. Ultimately, though, I cleaned the oil off the roots.
I was forced to use Keen SHGO with rice extract to wash my hair at the roots twice a month and make every effort to prevent the lengths from getting in. How enjoyable. It wasn’t until I had given my hair a few extra washes that I no longer detected the bay scent at the roots.
What caused this to occur? The reason this question piqued my interest the most was that, while applying the product went smoothly, rinsing left a lot to be desired. Furthermore, I can effortlessly remove herbal masks for the roots and oil masks for the length using the DevaCurl squeegee in just two washes. Furthermore, there is no trace of oiliness or dirt; the roots are still elastic, fresh, and clean.
I dug into articles on the Internet and came to the conclusion that it is all about coconut oil, or rather its volume and vitamin E. Everyone who has ever bought those orange capsules at the pharmacy knows about vitamin E. This particular mixture is a rather heavy product. And I have never made oil masks for the length using this oil in such quantities. Usually the base is olive and grape seed, and I add various other oils to it with a pipette, including coconut macerate.
The volume of oil that I usually apply to herbal masks on the roots is only 1-2 teaspoons in the mixture. And here you get much more and in pure form.
In conclusion, it is imperative that you completely rinse off the Bay MINOXIN oil using a shampoo that rinses well, just like you would with an oil mask.
Now let"s move on to the results
I used Bay MINOXIN oil not for two months, but only one, 2 times a week. A total of 10 sessions.
For the period from July 4 to August 4, the growth was +2 cm! That is, you only need to spread the oil 10 times and you can get an increase of 2 cm. I am impressed. The result is excellent. Yes, you can probably get a haircut, but I don’t want to, since the length is growing and there is no split. I will walk around with such “tails” for now.
Moreover, I see that there are a lot of new hair along the growth line and they keep appearing and appearing. And the growth line has also widened a little, new hairs are growing not along the main growth line, but a little further.
My uncontrollable bangs, which have actively started to grow, now look like neat strands, although still very short.
In addition, from the recently grown short hairs, whole ears strands are starting to form, which sometimes make me angry because of their short uncontrollable length)
In the photo, the hair is gathered in a ponytail, and these "ears" stick out.
As a result, the oil fully justifies its name – a hair growth activator.
