Managing hair that is porous can be difficult. Because it’s usually frizzy, shiny, and readily absorbs moisture, it can feel arid and unkempt. You will need a specific set of products that go beyond the basics to keep it looking smooth and healthy.
Porous hair, in contrast to other hair types, needs extra attention to seal moisture and shield it from harm. While the correct products can have a significant impact, there isn’t a single product that works for everyone. Every step in your regimen is essential to preserving the condition and look of your hair.
This guide will walk you through the must-have items for porous hair, from the best shampoo and conditioner to hydrating and frizz-taming treatments. It’s not quite a "minimal" set, but it’s what your hair needs to maintain its healthiest condition.

My basic set
Keeping in mind that hair is difficult, I go through several stages of care: shampoo, conditioner, mask, spray, cream, and butter. I made a list of funds that can close each of their departures without any "but" or complaints because, at the moment, trying to abandon any stage repeatedly causes the hair’s condition to deteriorate significantly.
Why do I not favor methods that serve multiple purposes, like masks that can nourish and restore hair in two or three directions at the same time? Experience has taught me that one side will always sag in this situation; for instance, a mask will nourish the hair more, but more restoration is required.
In addition, I wash my hair daily, so I use care often and do not see the point in buying 3 identical jars for six months with the risk of getting an imbalance in care and a new course of intensive restoration, when you can buy 3 different, more specialized masks and with their help create a flexible care system that can be promptly adjusted to the changing needs of the hair.
After all, for example, if I need an average of 600 ml of masks for six months, then buying one multifunctional or three different ones will not change this need, you will still have to buy 600 ml of masks. The same principle works with other care.
Shampoo. Angel Provence
ANGEL Provence is the shampoo to have on hand if you have to leave one bottle on the shelf rather than a whole bunch of bottles. Because the shampoo is so mild and neutral, it keeps the care film in your hair intact and doesn’t build up, allowing you to keep your hair looking great and extend the wear time of masks or ampoules. With the exception of SHGO, of course, the consumption is minimal, the product lasts a long time, and it can easily replace other shampoos.
I experimented with verbena, lavender, and rosemary, and I enjoyed them all. The choice with verbena is the most cooling, and the softest is the lavender one. However, the differences are generally negligible, so any of them can replace your regular shampoo.
I’ll tell you about the rosemary-infused shampoo I’m using right now. I paid 950 rubles for 400 ml. You can see how much product is left in the dense, slightly translucent brown plastic packaging. The dispenser is great; it operates correctly and doesn’t jam or spit. As an aside, I fill the free bottles of Angel Provence with products from liter bottles that contain air conditioners and shampoos; they have really useful bottles and cool dispensers, and not a single one has broken. Make-Up
Salvia Officinalis (Sage) Oil, Zingiber Officinale (Ginger) Root Extract, Aqua, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Oil, Coco-Glucoside, Sodium Cocoyl Glycinate, and Coco-Betaine Jojoba oil, PEG-8 esters, Vitis vinifera (grape) seed oil, PEG-7 glyceryl cocoate, and phenoxyethanol
Shampoo has a creamy, white texture and is fairly thick. About a teaspoon of shampoo is used at a time for economical consumption. The scent is faint, somewhat overpowering, and leaves no trace on the hair. It has a rosemary scent. It does not irritate or bother anyone at all due to its faint and neutral smell.
Maybe this is the perfect everyday shampoo for me. It doesn’t build up, but it also doesn’t erase accumulated attention. Owners of hair that is prone to overdrying should be aware of this feature; in such cases, the shampoo will not assist in removing excessive care; rather, it will only slightly revitalize the hair without solving the issue.
Even with strong masks, my hair does not become overly saturated, and this shampoo helps me extend the benefits of intensive care, including ampoules, masks, and intricate procedures.
Kaaral X-Real Reconstructive Conditioner
Here, the Kaaral brand fully occupies the niche. Whenever possible, I purchase their products in the biggest sizes that are offered; for conditioners, this is 1000 milliliters. I have 500 ml products and liter jars with branded dispensers. These dispensers are incredibly strong and have more than paid for themselves several times over because they not only prolong the life of masks and conditioners after they are opened, but they also drastically lower the cost of money.
Kaaral X-Real Reconstructive Conditioner, which contains wheat proteins, is my go-to conditioner. This conditioner, which ranges in price from 800 to 1200 rubles per liter on various websites, is reasonably priced in comparison to other products from the brand. Make-Up
Aqua (Water), Myristyl Alcohol, Cetrimonium Chloride, Parfum (fragrance)*, Polyquaternium-7, Glycerin, Citric Acid, Imidazolidinyl Urea, Tetrasodium Edta, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, Triticum Vulgare Gluten (Triticum Vulgare (Wheat) Gluten). Benzyl Salicylate and Hexyl Cinnamal
This is a colorless white conditioner with a very liquid consistency that is simultaneously enveloping and doesn’t require an increase in portion size. Like the denser and thicker Reale, I only need to press the dispenser a couple of times.
The scent is not the particular ones that Kaaral is so fond of; rather, it is neutral and salon-like. It stays weak on the hair after rinsing unless you inhale it through your nose.
Although the conditioner is simple, it is not inherently weak. Smoothes the cuticle, untangles hair, and creates a thin protective layer. Kaaral X-Real Reconstructive works well when used alone and complements any care regimen. It also doesn’t interfere with strong masks or ampoules. Holding it for ten to fifteen minutes helps to deeply moisturize and repair the hair.
When using the least amount of leave-in products, the hair is easy to comb, the length does not tangle, and the ends are soft and do not crunch even the next day.
I adore every conditioner from the Kaaral brand, and depending on the season, I have two open ones under my care. However, if Hydra works well for warm-weather hair—that is, hair that is moisturized, light, and manageable—and Reale works well for colder, humid climates—that is, hair that is heavier, denser, and doesn’t frizz even in the rain—but can weigh down excessively with frequent use—X-Real is an all-around, universal product that works well in all climates and moderately moisturizes and restores hair without causing frizz or weighing it down.
Masks. Three whales of healthy and beautiful hair
I am completely incapable of organizing any sort of minimalism when it comes to masks, even if it is possible with shampoo and conditioner. Despite my love for and abundance of multifunctional masks, they were unable to establish a caring foundation. Too frequently, the hair is deformed in just one direction and isn’t properly nourished, hydrated, or restored.
Thus, three masks will always be a permanent fixture on my bathroom shelf if I have to restrict my purchases of new goods: nourishing – L’Oreal Professionnel Mythic Oil for thick hair, restorative – Kaaral Maraes Color Nourishing Mask, moisturizing – Alfaparf Milano Semi Di Lino Moisture Nutritive Mask.
Since these products are barely considered budget, I will explain the specific factors that led to my decision. The fact that each of these masks is incredibly affordable in addition to doing their jobs well and not requiring extra assistance unites them all. The three formats are long-lasting because they consume little, if any.
Additionally, they are highly effective, have a compounding effect, and benefit not just the overall health of the hair but also its aesthetic appeal.
Moisturizing. Alfaparf Milano Semi Di Lino Moisture Nutritive Mask
In this post, I talked about the mask specifically and the line as a whole. And if I found the shampoo to be agreeable but easily interchangeable, then the mask and I fell in love. It became the cornerstone of my year-round moisturizing regimen for my hair, regardless of the humidity, water content, or other factors. It can make a broom into silk without needless frizz and hydrate hair after any drought.
As it isn’t Kaaral Hydra, I wouldn’t strictly define it as purely moisturizing. With a preference for moisturizing, the Alfaparf Milano SDL Moisture Nutritive Mask is more akin to multipurpose masks. There’s no more effect of Hydra-like light, frizzy "baby" hair after it. Instead, Alfaparf Milano is more about a glitzy gloss, achieved when the hair is moisturized from root to tip, lying like a single canvas and reflecting light like a mirror.
I bought 500 ml in reserve as soon as the prices started to slightly decrease because I was unable to resist. Prior to that, I had a 200 ml version that lasted for five months and effortlessly and with ease pulled my hair during the summer, fall, and early heating season.
Composition
Water (Aqua), Behentrimonium Chloride, Parfum (Frangrant), Cetyl Alcohol, Cetearyl Octanoate, and Hydroxypropyl Strach Phosohate Dimethicone Peko-8 MEAD OWFOAMATE, Quaternium-87, Guar HydroxyPropropyl Trimonium Chloride, Propylene Glycol, Hexylene Glycol, Phenoxyethanol, and ISopropyl Alcohol Glucose, fructose, Carnosine, Alannie, Acid, Glutamic Acid, Hexyl, Propanediol, Lactic Acid, Quaternium-95, Glyceerin, Lactic Acid, Urea, and Methylisothazolinone Nicotin ATE, Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate, Caesalpinia Spinosa Gum, Linum Usitatisimum Seed Extract, Tetra-Di-T-Butyl Hydroxyhydrocinamate Pentaerythry
Rich ingredients include fatty alcohols, sugars, extracts, amino acids, film formers, and a variety of moisturizers.
The thick and unique texture of the mask is dense, slightly slippery, easy to apply over the hair, and incredibly economical as a result. After washing, the perfume-like, complex scent clings to the hair. I leave it in my hair for five to twenty minutes, and even after that short time, it still does a great job of untangling hair, making it easy to comb through with your fingers. Since the mask conditions well on its own, I don’t use conditioner afterward.
My hair is heavy, cold, and saturated with moisture after drying; the ends lie flat and resist frizzing. And the gleam… The hair has a mirror-like sheen in the light, resembling Kerastase lamellar water in effect, but the mask’s sheen is more natural and less glassy. Longer exposure results in deeper hydration and a longer-lasting effect.
The effect builds up with frequent use, one to two times per week; hair responds considerably less to dry air, changing water, improper care, hair dryers, and other issues. In addition, the ends maintain their manageability and appearance longer.
Alfaparf Milano’s price tag is not democratic; a 500 ml format now costs me 3,000 rubles, while a 200 ml can be had for roughly 1,500 rubles. However, I was unable to locate a suitable substitute for it; none of the other masks I tried produced an effect quite as striking.
Alfaparf Milano Semi Di Lino Moisture Nutritive outperforms even the well-known Kaaral Hydra, even though I adore it and always have it on hand. Nevertheless, the whole point of Hydra is pure hydration, which needs an outer layer. Additionally, it causes my hair to become light, frizzy, and "baby," which needs to be tamed in some way. Well-groomed, cool, and smooth hair is the outcome of Alfaparf Milano SDL Moisture Nutritive’s action; the moisture is instantly sealed, and as an added bonus, there is a drop of restoration.
The disparity in the two masks’ respective effects is evident in this collage. In both situations, there isn’t much leave-in care because the hair is dried naturally. After Hydra, the ends attempt to protrude in various directions and there is frizz along the length of the hair; after Alfaparf Milano, the hair is controllable, lies as a single sheet, and shines beautifully.
Nutrition. L"oreal Professionnel Mythic Oil for thick hair
The East is a sensitive region. The scent of the L’Oreal Professionnel Mythic Oil mask for thick hair transports you to a world of Turkish baths, old beauty secrets, and oriental fairy tales. This mask can become the cornerstone of nourishing care for even the most demanding hair, as I can confidently say after writing about it in a post about the SPA ritual.
Its price is justified by its oil-rich formula, thick butter consistency, and low usage. The opulent oriental scent soothes and lingers gently on the hair’s warming trail. This mask is incredibly nourishing, slightly restorative, and totally self-sufficient; the hair is detangled and the ends are soft, so it doesn’t require any conditioner.
I purchased it along with the shampoo, and just like the last time, the shampoo proved to be a useful but not necessary component of my regimen. At first, I wasn’t sure if it would be worthwhile to repeat this series or how it would function once the cold weather ended. However, at this point, I have no questions left; it works wonderfully, so I will definitely repeat it. It’s true that the mask has exceptional economy—it will last until autumn with such little use.
The mask comes sealed in a screw-top, gold-colored jar. Nothing rubs off, and the inscriptions are of excellent quality and durability.
Composition
Aqua (water), Cetearyl Alcohol, Behentrimonium Chloride, Candelilla Cera (wax), Amodimethicone, Cetyl Esters, Parfum (fragrance), Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil Glycerin, Phenoxyethanol, Isopropyl Alcohol, Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Mica, Trideceth-6, Ci 77891 / Titanium Dioxide, Hexyl Cinnamal, Benzyl Salicylate, Benzyl Alcohol, Caramel, Limonene, Citronellol, Geraniol, Linalool, and Chlorhexidine Digluconate Sunflower seed oil, Helianthus Annuus seed oil Oxides of Iron (CI 77491), Ci 19140 / Yellow 5, Hydrogenated Palm Glycerides Citrate, Tocopherol, and Commiphora Myrrha Resin Extract.
The ingredients list is extensive and nourishing: fatty alcohol, oils, wax, and myrrh extract. We’ll feed even the hungriest hair.
And what a fragrance… The mask smells throughout the bathroom, and the hair continues to smell strongly after washing for a while, so those who are allergic to strong oriental fragrances should exercise caution. Pleasant but not overpowering; however, it might clash with recently opened perfumes.
Removing the mask from the roots, I apply it to towel-dried hair. I take a tiny bit, work it into my palms, and then I apply it all over the hair. Consequently, there is very little consumption because the mask covers every hair and combing hair with it is easy.
I leave it in the warm bathroom for fifteen minutes or so. You can already feel how nourished and detangled your hair is while it’s being rinsed. Also, the mask is totally self-sufficient; even with my porous, ravenous hair, I wouldn’t need to apply conditioner to it.
I usually use a hairdryer or let my hair air dry. For leave-in products, I only use a spray and a tiny drop of oil on the ends of my hair because, after using L’Oreal Professionnel Mythic Oil, my hair is already full and content. When I wash my hair every day, the mask’s effects last for a week; any more than that, and it becomes too much for my hair. Another benefit of this mask is that the wax in the mixture helps the hair hold its style better and not frizz in humid weather; rain and fog have no effect on the style.
I paid roughly 1000 rubles for a 200 ml can of L’Oreal Professionnel Mythic Oil, but the price now varies between 1500 and 2000 rubles. Not particularly cost-effective either, but fine for one use per week (more frequently than not, it will be too much, even for my hair).
Restoration. Kaaral Maraes Color Nourishing Mask – it and only it
And once more, my love—Kaaral Maraes Color Nourishing Mask—without which I could not possibly imagine my care in general. This is a healing mask that can practically lift my hair out of a life-threatening situation. When I travel, I always bring a small amount of it because it makes my hair not fear the sea, the sun, or changing weather.
At home, there is always a liter jar with a dispenser – when used for a feast, and for the world, and in any unclear situation, and to share with a friend, the liter format was enough for me for 10 months. Now the second jar is unsealed, there is another one in stock with an expiration date until the end of 2024.
There is a format with a volume of 250 ml, but now it is quite difficult to find it on sale, and the cost of 250 ml differs from the cost of a liter jar by an average of 25%. I bought my spare liter jar in the summer for 3100 rubles, now the price for it has practically not changed and fluctuates around this mark.
Packaging consists of a typical thick plastic jar from Karalov that has a lid and an impermeable protective film. Such a film, in my opinion, provides excellent protection against counterfeits; try soldering it so tightly that the jar does not melt! Furthermore, you cannot open it covertly thanks to the dependable opening protection. Make-Up
Aqua (Water), Cetearyl Alcohol, Behentrimonium Chloride, Butyrospermum Parkii Butter (Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter)), Glycerin, Isopropyl Alcohol, Ceteareth-20, Cocos Nucifera Oil (Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil), Gardenia Tahitensis Flower, Parfum ( Fragrance)*, PEG-5 Cocomonium Methosulfate, Hydrolyzed Keratin, Sodium Glutamate, Laurdimonium Hydroxypropyl Hydrolyzed Keratin, Sodium Cocoyl Glutamate, Imidazolidinyl Urea, Hydroxypropyl Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride, Tetrasodium EDTA, Citric Acid, Cl 74180 (Directblue86), Cl 19 140 (Acid Yellow 23), Tocopherol, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone*, Linalool, Geraniol, Hexyl Cinnamal, Coumarin, Benzyl Salicylate, Citronellol.
The texture of Maraes is certainly not the easiest, and application may seem quite difficult if you are not used to it. However, if you take a little and warm it up in your palms, the process is greatly simplified. I have a dispenser on this jar as a mandatory attribute, since the consumption is small, a liter is enough for 10 months, it contains oil and I don’t want it to spoil at all.
As with all masks and conditioners of the Kaaral brand, the principle “the longer the better” works well with Kaaral Maraes, within reasonable limits of course. I can keep the mask on for 10 to 30 minutes, if time allows, if desired, you can enhance its effect with a thermal cap.
And it has a stunning effect that fully emerges after a prolonged exposure. The mask revitalizes and nourishes the hair; its primary goal is to improve the health of the hair, followed by appearance. My hair was dense, elastic, and well-nourished after the first few uses, but the picture hardly showed this.
However, when my hair became "fed up," I started receiving from Kaaral Maraes not only restoration and density, but also a stunning shine from perfectly styled hair contained in a single sheet.
Out of the three masks, this one is the only one that requires conditioner to be applied afterward because it might not sufficiently detangle hair. In the "apply-rinse" method, you only need a small amount of conditioner and no prolonged hold time. I usually use Kaaral X-Real because it conditions the hair sufficiently without making it heavy or interfering with the mask.
Leave-in products
Spray. The difficult choice between Ollin FULL FORCE and Kaaral Leave-in has not been made
In my care, a spray for detangling and moisturizing hair is always available. More specifically, two sprays, which requires some decision-making. They are both excellent, cost-effective, and have the potential to be the only ones receiving care. I will tell you about both of them because it is still impossible for me to choose between them. Aloe extract-infused FULL FORCE spray-conditioner for OLLIN PROFESSIONAL hair moisturizing
The most economical and all-purpose spray I have. It detangles and gets rid of static, fits into any care routine, and doesn’t weigh down.
Comes in a 250 ml spray-equipped thick white plastic bottle that can be purchased for between 300 and 500 rubles. Beyond reproachable packaging quality, a cloud of microscopic droplets is regularly produced by the convenient spray. Make-Up
Water Cetrimonium chloride, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Propylene Glycol, Aloe-vera Extract, Glycerin, Silicone Quatemium-16, Undeceth-11, Butyloctanol, Undeceth-5, Aroma, Phytantriol, D-pantenol, acidic citric, The compounds 2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one and 5-chlor-2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one Hexyl cinnamon, Limonene, Linalool, Citronellol, Geraniol, and Coumarin
Basic moisturizing composition; not devoid of air. Glycerin, hydrogenated castor oil, aloe extract, and conditioning agents are included. The actual spray has a thin, nearly transparent consistency.
Ollin FULL FORCE with aloe is completely non-conflicting, so I can use it safely with any product—even the strongest ones, like washable and indelible. It is safe to use as an extra moisturizer on dry hair or damp hair to facilitate combing.
Doesn’t stick together, fluff, or weigh down (unless, of course, you pour it on every fifteen minutes), nor does it smooth it out. This is a versatile detangling spray that works well anywhere and at any time. It also includes a drop of moisturizer. A subtle cosmetic scent that is nearly odorless vanishes quickly and doesn’t stick to the hair.
Does not perform miracles, but it completes its tasks correctly and without error. In a word, a diligent worker. But, this spray might not be sufficient if the hair is extremely tangled, damaged, or the rinse-off care proved to be ineffective. In such cases, you will need to use something stronger.
Kaaral Purify Leave-in helps me out in this situation.
This star has outperformed every rival on my shelf, with the exception of the previously mentioned Ollin.
Enclosed in a 250 ml green plastic bottle with a stylish spray. The sprayer is more practical than the Ollin sprayer because it has a stopper and consistently creates a cloud of tiny droplets. The price varies between 1100 and 1500 rubles depending on the website. Make-Up
AQUA (WATER), PEG-40 HYDROGENATED CASTOR OIL, POLYQUATERNIUM-22, LYCIUM BARBARUM FRUIT EXTRACT, HYDROLYZED MILK PROTEIN, PARFUM (FRAGRANCE)*, HYDROPROPYLTRIMONIUM HYDROLYZED CASEIN, GLYCERIN, SODIUM GLUTAMATE, LGLYCERIN, SODIUM COCOYL GLUTAMATE, CETRONIUM CHLORIDE, HYDROXYPROPYL GUAR HYDROXYPROPYLTRIMONIUM CHLORIDE, PEG-5 COCOMONIUM METHOSULFATE, CITRIC ACID, TETRASODIUM EDTA, PHENOXYETHANOL, *BENZYL SALICYLATE, LINALOOL, HEXYL CINNAMAL, HYDROXYCITRONELLAL, CITRONELLOL.
Regardless of your point of view, the composition is significantly more saturated. Here we have hydrolyzed milk protein and casein, extracts, a complex of moisturizers, and castor oil along with conditioning ingredients. The consistency, which is a white liquid that is marginally thicker than water, reflects this composition.
It uses little energy—three presses are all it takes to unravel hair with ease. Perfectly softens and moisturizes without being heavy. If you want to, you can go overboard, but you have to try. You’ll need to wash your hair again if it ends up sticking together. This only happened once, when I poured this spray on my extremely tangled, dry hair in an attempt to untangle it. It should come as no surprise that after drying, I developed icicles, but the objective was accomplished.
The cost is comparable for a single period of time when comparing this pair in terms of consumption and purchase costs. The consumption changes in the opposite direction, but roughly the same, with a threefold difference in price.
Due to the less saturated texture, I need to spend at least twice as much to get the same effect as Ollin FULL FORCE spray with aloe; one bottle lasts me 1.5–2 months (assuming I don’t have any other sprays). Again, without other sprays in care, Kaaral Leave-in is used up much more gradually; one bottle lasts for four to five months.
Because of this, even though the price and volume are very different, the long-term costs of the two are fairly similar. That’s why I still find it impossible to decide between them—they’re both excellent, appropriate, and will cost roughly the same for six months of use. I’ll leave them both, then we’ll see what happens.
Leave-in cream and heat protection. Choice without a choice
Oh, I can’t go into minimalism at all… Even if I wanted to, I still can’t. I really want to grow my hair below the waist, and in order for this trick with porous hair to work, they need to be protected, including from overdrying during the day and when styling with a hairdryer. And here I again come across the problem of choice, which is actually not a problem and not a choice – leave-in cream and heat protection are 2 different products and two different brands.
Let"s start with what is used more often, namely the cream. Strictly speaking, this is a leave-in conditioner from the same line with a moisturizing mask.
Alfaparf Milano Nutritive Leave-in Conditioner is what I’d like to present to you.
This gorgeous pink product can serve as a dual replacement for both cream care and conditioner. Its main goal, like that of the entire Nutritive line, is to moisturize dry hair.
Alfaparf Milano Nutritive Leave-in comes in two sizes: a 1000 ml bottle and a 200 ml tube. To be honest, I find it hard to imagine the size of the salon that would purchase this liquor in large quantities—liters.
I have the 200 ml size, which comes in a thick pink plastic tube with a shiny silver cover. The packaging is incredibly useful; the coating doesn’t scratch or peel off, the plastic doesn’t wrinkle, and the lid snaps on tightly. The price for 200 ml at the time the post was written was about 1600 rubles.
Composition
Hydrolyzed wheat protein, isopropyl alcohol, cetrimonium chloride, trideceth-10, dimethicone peg-8, parfum (fragrance), phenoxyethanol, behentrimonium chloride, hexylene glycol, ethylhexylglycerin, dimethicone, amodimethicone, and cetearyl alcohol Meadowfoamate, fructose, glucose, citric acid, dextrin, sucrose, urea, glycerin, carnosine, sodium benzoate, ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate, alanine, aspartic acid, glutamic acid, hexyl nicotinate, extract from seeds of the Linum usitatissimum (linseed), caesalpinia spinosa gum, potassium sorbate, and biosaccharide gum-4
The line as a whole has a rich composition, and Nutritive Leave-in is no different. It is evident from the presence of silicones, protein, sugars, amino acids, moisturizing complex, and plant extracts that the product will hydrate hair and shield it from outside factors.
Livin has the consistency of a sheer white cream with no sparkle or inclusions. minimal amount of use. as little as feasible. Additionally, it is difficult to overdo it (within reasonable bounds, of course); in my nine months of using it, this has never happened.
Let’s talk about how it affects hair now. It is a single, never-ending joy! Hair that is detangled, hydrated, and cold lies in a single canvas; ends that are worn out but still look good don’t become tangled and act more like they did after a haircut. The hair is light but smooth, it doesn’t frizz or get knocked into strands, and there isn’t any weighting or sticking.
Alfaparf Milano Nutritive Leave-in is able to draw out almost any unsuccessful washed care or temporary absence of an air conditioner (of course, systematic shoals of care or its complete absence can compensate for a single liva). This property is especially helpful when the hot water is turned off – it is quite possible to maintain acceptable hair quality for a couple of weeks with it when washing with a mild shampoo without masks and conditioners.
Due to the minimal consumption and a gorgeous effect on the hair, 200 ml is enough not just for a long time, but for a very long time. I have been using it for 9 months now, and there are still a couple of months of active use left. That is why I do not understand what kind of flow there should be in the salon that buys this livin in liter packages with such a meager consumption.
Safeguarding against heat Kerastase Extended Thermique Resistance
Although I don’t use a hair dryer very often, there are situations when I must. Since the ends are already fairly worn out and I don’t want to cut them just yet—I want to grow the length as much as possible—I prefer to use good heat protection in these situations.
In order to achieve this, you must shield your hair from high temperatures when using a hair dryer. I found that the Kerastase brand thermal protection was the most dependable. Since Régénérant is still significantly more expensive and Keratine Thermique is, in my opinion, a little denser and heavier—at least on my hair—Kerastase Resistance Extentioniste Thermique is currently my best option. The Resistance Extensioniste proved to be the most well-rounded and ideal for my needs.
Why did Kerastase exist? The cost of this brand is steep; many people think it is overpriced (and I might even agree for some products, like those that are milk-textured rinse-off care), but the brand is unmatched in leave-in products.
Definitely, the price is a bite. It was already painful before the price increase, but now that it has increased even more because of logistical issues. After a discount, I paid roughly 1800 rubles for this thermal protection, which is still quite expensive. Now, without the discount, the price has increased to 3500 rubles. I’m hoping that eventually the price will go back to a level that is roughly reasonable.
Now, let’s talk about the actual thermal care. The product is packaged in a green, 150 ml screw-capped tube. You should use caution when using the cap because it appears a little flimsy and, based on reviews, the thread breaks off easily. Although I try to be cautious, I haven’t had this happen to me yet. Make-Up
Aqua / Water, Dimethicone, Triethanolamine, Amodimethicone, Phenoxyethanol, Carbomer, Isopropyl myristate, Hydroxypropyl Guar, Behentrimonium chloride, Trideceth-6, Amyl and Hexyl Cinnamal, Isopropyl alcohol, Benzyl alcohol, Linalool, Hydroxycitronellal, Cetrimonium Chloride, Citronellol, Limonene, Benzyl Cinnamate, and Creatine are among the ingredients in Polyquaternium-4, Potato Starch Modified. Taurine, 2-Oleamido-1,3-Octadecanediol, Parfum/ Fragrance
Nothing magical appears to be present in the composition at first glance—nor is there any unicorn horn or diamond dust. Simultaneously, the product functions as intended, shielding the ends and length from the damaging effects of a hair dryer.
The thermal care has a creamy, somewhat thick texture and is pure white with no color or inclusions. The fragrance is subtle and does not cling to the hair. The product makes combing easier and is applied and distributed with ease. It is quickly absorbed into the hair and does not weigh it down. I use Resistance Extentioniste Thermique only on damp hair under a hairdryer, so the product lasts me a long time—about 8 to 9 months—for one application, which is the equivalent of one hazelnut.
Despite the fact that my hair is already quite worn out, no split ends or white spots have appeared since I started using Kerastase Resistance Extentioniste Thermique. Previously, using a hairdryer to dry my hair would always result in unpleasant consequences. I had to deal with this by either cutting it off on a regular basis or refusing to use it altogether. However, this issue has been resolved.
I want to make it clear that this thermal protection won’t completely replace a leave-in cream; rather, you shouldn’t expect any extra nutrition or hydration because the composition is designed primarily to shield hair from heat effects and to create a protective film around the hair. Furthermore, you shouldn’t use this product to remove dryness from dry hair because the opposite effect and an unfavorable outcome are possible.
Finishing oil. Kerastase Elixir Ultime – love, love, love
However, I have no other options when it comes to finishing oils—Kerastase Elixir Ultime works for all hair types. The renowned Kerastase golden oil, which has consistently garnered praise from users and is desired by those who haven’t tried it yet.
As I mentioned above, if I cannot say that the Kerastase rinse-off care products I have tried are good and worth the money spent, then the situation with leave-in care is entirely different—every product I have tried more than lives up to the manufacturer’s expectations. The oil is no different.
Kerastase Elixir Ultime comes in a glass bottle that holds 100 milliliters and has a rotating dispenser. The bottle is strong and easily withstood a few falls without breaking, thanks to the excellent packaging. The oil dispenser functions well, and it’s simple to control how much is dispensed; you can get exactly one drop with just a quarter of a press. Mixture
Dimethiconol, Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil, Zea Mays Germ Oil, Scleroocarya Birrea Seed, Camellia Olefra Seed Oil, Cyclopentasiloxane, and Pentaclethra Phyllandus Emblica Fruit Extract, MacLOBA Seed Oil, Caprylic/Capric, Triglyceride, Linalool, Alpha-Simeethyl Ionone, Limonene, Coumarin, Benzyl Alcohol, Tocopherol, Fragrance/Parfum
Not just silicones, but an entire array of beneficial oils as well.
The silicone texture of Kerastase Elixir Ultime is medium density. Clear oil with a faint golden hue and a pleasing scent. Regretfully, this scent hardly ever clings to my hair.
Regarding the application, it’s always enjoyable. You only need a small amount of oil—half a portion should do if the rinsed care is adequate. I take a full portion, or one full press on the dispenser, if the rinse-off treatment has not worked and the ends are requesting more protection.
This oil gives hair a gorgeous, cosmic shine, smoothes and detangles hair perfectly. You can overdo it, but at the proper dosage, it doesn’t weigh down or glue hair. I acknowledge that low-porosity hair might find it too heavy.
It lasts not just for a long time, but for a very long time. This is my longest-lasting product, which I use regularly, almost daily, but it never runs out. A 100 ml bottle will last me about a year, maybe a little more – in 6 months of use I spent a little less than half.
I bought it for 2400 rubles, I also have a limited edition of Elixir Ultime Rouge in stock, so I hope to survive the wave of the crisis without worrying about price fluctuations for it. So far, the price tags for all products of the L"oreal concern in the country have almost doubled due to logistics problems and there is no downward trend yet, such oil now costs about 4,000 rubles.
To keep healthy and manageable, porous hair requires more than just the essentials, so labeling any set as "minimal" can be deceptive. To control frizz and seal in moisture, you’ll need leave-in treatments, hydrating conditioners, and a few styling products. These necessities make your hair appear shinier and more vibrant every day by reducing damage and dryness.
