Making a revitalizing hair scrub at home can be a game-changer in the realm of do-it-yourself hair care, particularly when you incorporate the energizing properties of cold and twig. This post will walk you through a quick and easy DIY hair scrub recipe that uses all-natural ingredients to help exfoliate the scalp, encourage hair growth, and leave your hair feeling refreshed. Simple to follow instructions and readily available ingredients allow you to achieve salon-quality results from the comfort of your own home.

Scrub No. 1 Song of Ice

Recipe

  • Salt (choose the size depending on your feelings. Table salt – fine-grained and more delicate. I like tougher options, so I prefer rock salt) – 3 dessert spoons
  • Organic shampoo – half a teaspoon
  • Organic mask (important: there should not be silicones in the composition!) – 2 dessert spoons
  • Mint essential oil – 5-7 drops

Preparation

  • Measure out the required amount of salt, add the mask and mix thoroughly.

Avoid overdoing it, as this will cause the mixture to become too thin.

  • That is why we add the least amount of shampoo – half a spoon.
  • Mix everything thoroughly again.

  • The last component is peppermint essential oil.

The cooling effect is caused by it, so the more you add, the stronger the effect will be. Five drops are sufficient to achieve a pleasant coolness for these proportions. Add 10, but no more, if you want the cold to really "burn" your scalp. Because the essential oils are highly concentrated, using too much of them could burn you.

  • As a result, you get this texture of quite an industrial scale.

  • Comparison of texture before (bottom) and after adding shampoo (top).

How to use

I massage the scrub into my dry scalp, wash my hair, and then let it sit for ten minutes. The texture of the scrub is very pleasant and spreads easily over the scalp because of the mask and shampoo. Moreover, peppermint essential oil soothes and cools. The cooling effect intensifies with age, and the pleasant cold becomes a "frost" that moves around the body. This is really enjoyable, particularly in the summer. Next, I shampoo my hair as usual to remove the product.

The cooling sensation lasts for a while even after washing your hair if you apply ten drops of essential oil. If you use less essential oil, it gradually transforms into a tonic effect that lasts until you wash it. The process is incredibly soothing. We receive excellent scalp cleaning as well as an actual spa as a bonus.

Scrub No. 1 Song of Flame

Recipe

  • Coffee – 3 dessert spoons
  • Organic mask (if very thick, like mine) – 1 spoon (if less thick, then 2 spoons)
  • Organic shampoo – 3 teaspoons
  • Cinnamon essential oil – 5 drops

Preparation

  • Measure out coffee in a container and add a spoonful of the mask.

  • Mix the mixture thoroughly.

The mask is thick, making mixing difficult. The process works better with a more liquid mask, but for this version of the scrub, I prefer to use thicker masks because they eventually give the scrub the ideal consistency.

  • Then add shampoo and mix everything well again.

  • Cinnamon essential oil is added to the mixture last, then everything is mixed.

If possible, increase the amount of mint essential oil. Do not use cinnamon as this will result in a fire. Five drops is the ideal quantity. Even less can be added.

The scrub takes on a very nice texture in its finished form. Yes, it looks exactly like an industrial version, and I think the thickness is just right.

How to use

I also massage my dry scalp after using this scrub. Usually right away, as pleasant heat starts to seep from the skin during use; however, if you leave the scrub on longer, the fire will start to flare up. Although I don’t like overheating, you can leave it on your scalp for ten minutes before washing your hair if that’s how you feel.

Though it might appear that purchasing a pre-made industrial version is simpler and the preparation process is more difficult, this is untrue. It only takes five minutes to complete the process, especially since you don’t need to prepare the scrub each time!

I make up half the scrub right away and put it in a jar to keep it fresh. It doesn"t spoil, because there are no perishable products in the composition, and the essential oil also acts as an additional preservative, which allows you not to prepare it every time, but just take it from the shelf when you need it.

Treating your hair to a homemade hair scrub can be enjoyable and revitalizing. You can make a natural treatment that helps exfoliate your scalp, remove buildup, and invigorate your hair by mixing simple ingredients like cold water and a twig. By doing it yourself, you can customize the scrub to fit your own requirements and tastes.

Not only does this method provide a cooling sensation that can soothe your scalp, but it also promotes better blood circulation. A more balanced scalp and healthier hair growth can result from regular use. It’s also a green alternative that saves you from purchasing chemical-laden commercial products.

Thus, try this DIY hair scrub if you’re searching for an inexpensive and efficient way to improve your hair care regimen. You’ll be happy using natural ingredients and reaping the rewards of a revitalizing scalp treatment. Your hair will be appreciative of it!
